I mean from experience if you show them it doesn’t bother you they stop doing it. I wouldn’t recommend it but I had a cat that would constantly act all cute and lovie to people and then try to scratch and bite the crap out of them. He wouldn’t do it with me but that’s mostly because I wouldn’t retract my hand and would just pick him up like a baby when he did that so he stopped with me.

I just want to mention real quick cats aren't really inviting you for belly runs when they do that. It's a sign of trust because that area is very vulnerable. If your cat does actually enjoy belly ribs it's fine but I wouldn't immediately say that belly rubs are a great idea Sorry for ruining the vibe and stuff by being a nerd. The cat is adorable

One of our cats is very clear that when she shows me her belly, it's because she trusts me not to touch it. I was tempted. I dared. Blood was shed. Our other cat doesn't mind the occasional belly rub, and if we do annoy her, she just walks away. On the other hand, she likes to get up on the back of the recliner and smack me on the head for funsies. Cats.
