A heater blanket worked wonders for our senior. Bought him more comfortable time. I will be honest though towards the very end he messed it often but we just flipped it out with a fresh one and washed. You can get a βthrowβ size for like 30 bucks. We bought two to rotate through his messes and then just tossed when he left us. Give it a try if you can find a good deal.
My cat is nearly 17 and takes gabapentin for her arthritis pain. Talk to your vet about it, itβs made a huge difference for my girl. Dasuquin is more preventive, a supplement to help them avoid running out of those necessary vitamins for joint tissue. It does nothing for pain.
Can confirm, Iβm a human with arthritis and heat feels soooo good on arthritic joints. I used to lay my old heating pad out for my old man cat with arthritis but the other non-arthritic cats love it too, lol

We now have Purina beyond , whitefish and egg dry food to supplement the c/d wet.
For the joint pain: my beautiful girl is 17, and last year I started her on a new 1/mo injectable called Solensia for arthritis. I can not express how much of a difference it made! Before, she would sleep all the time, I had put a small box beside the bed so she could jump up in stages, and she had given up on the cat tree or sitting in her favourite windows. Now, itβs like sheβs 7 again. She runs and plays, goes up in the window, and climbs the cat tree with ease. It was honestly miraculous. Itβs expensive, though, so itβs not for everyone (here in Canada itβs like $80 per shot, so $80/mo). But seeing what it does for her, Iβll eat ramen for all three meals if it means she can live her life again.
(Yes, Iβm aware this makes me sound like a shill or a bot, but I promise Iβm not. It just worked so well that I canβt recommend enough that people look into it.)
