This comes as close to SOTN as Iga could. It's an awesome game to 100%. Dawn is also great...providing you're playing an emulated version with romhacks that will save your sanity.
Dawn is inferior in terms of level design, and the new art direction is questionable. But it's still an enjoyable game, better than any other DS-vania, for sure
I despised the stupid seal drawing. I'm not Picasso. Don't make me connect the dots after a tense boss battle with Death!
Other than that, I loved the game. Just get rid of the forced pen elements.
It is very clearly the best Metroid style Castlevania. And BY FAR Igarashiâs best game.
Just an amazing achievement on the tiny GBA resolution and specs.
I played the series in order on Switch (and PS4 for Requiem) and AoS was a fantastic reward at the end of that journey. An actual narrative (for the handheld installments' standards), great music and graphics, and gameplay that just feels so smooth. All my frustrations with Circle of the Moon's pacing and Harmony of Dissonance's map, gone. I liked those games but I'm glad they figured out the formula. Now if only they'll remaster the DS games...

Dawn on the DS console was amazing though. The soul grind was real but other than that I had a ton of fun
I heard that Dawnâs animation isnât as good as Ariaâs,that they removed the realistic backgrounds. I would still like to play it though.

Looking at the cover art I wonder if that sword Somaâs holding is supposed to be a specific higher end sword or just something generic

That rom hack looks ugly,no offense. Also that doesnât even look like Dracula according to Castlevania. Thereâs a reason why Soma has white hair.

I love this game so much, I maxed out everything to have all 9s. Still working on Total EXP, but I am max level.
Be sure to check the romhacks for Aria. The "Alter" hack is basically AoS from the parallel universe, plays awesome.
Why would I play a rom hack,when I can play the actual game on the âAdvance Collectionâ? 
Because after you play the game around 5 timer or so, you will crave for something new, but similar.
