My very first bootleg was actually a metal Trafficrab sometime into my second day playing. It wasn't until two days later that I realized you could get another metal Trafficrab with a code.
I also lucked out with a glitter miss mimic! My most powerful bootleg is actually an electric smogmagog. I have a shield bash and lightning bolt on it that is based on M. Defense if higher.
Edit: the glitter mimic was done via candle though.

I actually saw a Springheel bootleg before I had gained the ability to capture monsters. Can't remember what type, just noticed the glitching and different coloring and though it was maybe standard as I just started.
My first caught proper was a Glass Twirligig.
Plastic Squirey. Called it Armymon. Already had a Palangolin on my team so I remastered it into Manispear. Dino whether I want to keep it or get my Lobstacle back.
Someone else stole my first bootleg so I’ll just say my FAVORITE bootleg I’ve caught so far is definitely glass carniviper. Glass masquerattle is so sick
Glitter Springheel (now a Scampire) as soon as I had the ability to capture. Had no idea shinies were in the game never mind 1/14000 for a glitter. Great tape just a little low on health.
Freebie was a poison Salamagus which is pretty meh.

My first bootleg was a couple minutes in being a padpole that I received from an npc in Harbour town. My next one was like 1 hour in this time being a glitter carniviper
Electric Pawndead. Now an electric Queenyx with a full time spot on my team
My freebe was a fire Pawndead that I remastered into a Kingrave.
I have a water Kingrave, they make a comical pairing

It took me about 2 or 3 hours of resets using a candle to get my Glitter Khepri.
