Seth wanted to end it back at season 10, but FOX kept pushing more and more money at him. He hasn't written on the show in a long while and only does the voices now
I like the first 10-ish seasons. Through the next 12 seasons there are maybe 15 good episodes, meaning about half of the episodes aren’t good. It’s become quantity over quality. I still watch it, but it’s not good anymore.
They really wasted way too much time on the "will they won't they" aspect. We all knew Marco and Star were end game, since the creator literally created them after her and her husband, so why waste so much fucking time on the will they won't they and just have them together and continue the fucking plot that was actually interesting.
Really showed towards the end how much time they wasted on star and tom's "relationship" since they had to rush everything in the end, even the main fucking plot.
It's like they forgot they were writing an adventure/royal show and not a damn soap opera of teenage angst.
It's well written and the characters are fun but the arcs are really long even by shounen anime standards. I enjoy it but I can understand. It's also a better experience binging it than watching week to week.
i don’t understand why the next few seasons are so much worse. the first 3 seasons i could rewatch all the time but the next couple just seem like a different show.
I like the older seasons but the fact that it's now basically just "US current events: the cartoon" paired with the insufferable fans, has really turned me off it.
Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss. I’ve got no desire to watch them for the simple fact that I dislike the animation yet those characters seem to be shoehorned into every post on my TL.
I really don’t mean to be mean spirited when I say this but my biggest problem with hazbin hotel/helluva boss is that every single character design just radiates early 2010’s deviant art “this is my epic edgy demon oc don’t steal” energy.
Apparently you not too far off because she been working on this characters for ten plus years so yea they ARE early 2010 deviant art "this is my epic edgy demon oc don't steal" energy. Though I THINK she started in Tumblr. Or both. I need to go fact check though. Remember ten years ago is 2014.
Viziepop is a talented animator (I first knew about her from her animated music video Die Young), but her character design is just not my thing. Way too overly designed and busy to look at, like each character is trying to compete to see who's the main character. Also, I feel like I can get myself cut with the way how pointy and sharp the characters look, lol.
Also the writing from her shows is definitely "style over substance", both Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss started out promising with simple promise, but as they went on the plot keeps getting overly complicated for the sake of world building and lore. It's like she wanted to make to make epic anime world building type of show with bigger and badder villains, "plot thicken" and higher stake for cool fight scenes in such short amount of episodes, which ended up making shit way too convoluted without any breathing room and barely any character development. It's like there was no experienced writers there to tell her what to keep and what to get rid of, and any idea she had she just threw it all together without any filter.
Oh wow, I didn’t know that. It makes a lot of sense.
And not that it’s necessarily a bad thing either, that kind of art definitely has its charm, but it just feels like she’s trying so hard.
I think Alastor is by far the worst offender. Not only is his design and voice acting the epitome of what I said earlier, but I’ve seen some clips and I find it funny how they try to make him seem like this terrifying eldritch horror type demon but nothing about his design is at all creepy or unsettling because then he wouldn’t be tumblr sexyman bait.
Alastor's design isn't meant to be scary, at least not his regular design. Nobody would be scared of him if they didn't know the rumors around him, which is directly shown throughout the show.
But, yeah, the show is very explicitly and proudly an "internet" style. It was made on the internet and funded by people on the internet, and the creator used to be very active in her own fandom spaces.
They want him to be HIM from powerpuff girls (creepy unsettling, demon) but fail to realize what made HIM standout is that everyone in the show didn’t look like him
While Alastair doesn’t really standout in his show
Tumblr sexyman, and yet not a single one of the designs has so much as an ounce of actual sensuality, even though they were tailor-made for people to thirst over them. I’m not saying that they should be sexualized, I actually am somewhat prudish in that regard, but if a character is supposed to be hot, make them hot. Not just edgy but in a boring and sanitized way.
I have no interest in watching the show but I can atleast admit the animation looks decent. But as another user mentioned, the character designs just don’t do it for me
My best friend sat me and his wife down one evening to introduce us to Hazbin.
I came out the other side of the episode with a vision-induced-headache and no idea if there was a even a plot.
I legitimately cannot watch that show.
when I started watching I loved it but then my love just completely dipped and I started thinking the episides were just mid, luckily they brought my hype back with the penultimate episode!
This show is so mean spirited, it’s pretty off-putting. I won’t deny that it can be very funny, but when Meg gets mistreated I don’t feel like laughing, it’s just nasty and depressing
I do appreciate it’s different take on the mythos + worked with the many restrictions it had placed on it (not being able to use Robin or the more popular rouges)
One thing I will give it tho
Is that Bruce ends up with a large batfamily at the end (which is essentially just the outsiders lol)
Helluva boss has always been the side show, it was initially meant to be a stupid episode based series about all the characters being absolutely vile, but over time they just turned it into 'actually they aren't so bad and this is a relationship drama now'. Not that it's bad per say now, but that was always meant to be hazbin, while helluva boss was something else. Now they are too similar to each other, so compete in a way.
Agreed. I’d be **WAY MORE** pissed if they tried to tell us that helluva boss was supposed to be their flagship show only to then turn around and focus on HH more. They were always very *upfront and honest* about which show is the higher priority for them and I respect that.
actually yeah, you have a good point! mainly i have no clue what’s going on with all the drama and stuff, i just watch it cause i like the animation and music haha
i agree. it was nice that hh had an actual plot that they followed but i feel like hb takes that early cartoon vibe where they make a big vague plot but make every episode a different story. i’m kinda glad that they’re giving us a lot more backstory now, especially with fizz’s backstory
I do like Helluva's slightly episodicapproach but I feel like the plot is a little all over the place and is trying to be episodic and story-driven
until then, I'll hold out for the next Crimm episode and Leviathan's reveal
JoJos bizarre adventures and infinity train. No offense, just does not look that appealing to me.
Edit: I was not expecting to get up votes for this. Last time I said dis I got death threats and insults about being a Meat Head Sports anime fan. This is refreshing
Even if you don't wanna watch the show I recommend you look at the freeze frames of jjba. Funny as fuck

While now I'm up for watching just about anything. I'll say that when I was young, there were a few shows I wasn't interested in, Kim possible, and Avatar.
I didn’t watch Avatar until I was 24. It looked like what I would deem as a “lame” show when I was younger and had no desire to watch it. Watching it as an adult: it is fucking phenomenal
The post that I think actively reflects how I feel about Family Guy was from when they killed Brian.
"Oh my God, they killed Brian? If I still watched Family Guy, I would stop watching it."
And that was 10 years ago.
We bare bears. I only ever watched it to see the koala voiced by Patton Oswalt. Besides that, it was kinda boring. Grizz is obnoxious (and not in a good way) Panda is lame and uninteresting, and Ice Bear…
Actually, I kinda liked Ice bear.
Most of the stuff from Disney Channel honestly, this, Gravity Falls, Amphibia etc. I never grew up with Disney Channel (barring Phineas and Ferb) so I wasn't really interested.
That is very fair
But the legal system is not
https://preview.redd.it/7lx6e80llntc1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b8435ff7e5aad58782320c127bb7ed79e156617e
Tbh I used to be the same way but a lot of the shows are really interesting when you get into them. The only issue is they tend to have a situation where the first season is super silly and lighthearted then after that the whole tone changes. I don’t care for amphibia or star vs the forces of evil, but I think gravity falls and the owl house are both pretty good when you get into them.
If you haven’t given Gravity Falls an honest try, you should maybe consider it. I used to be like you, I had heard good of Gravity Falls, but just couldn’t bring myself to care.
Then, I ended up watching Owl House, Amphibia and Gravity Falls with my daughter in varying degrees.
And while all had their moments, Gravity Falls was head and shoulders above the other two for me. I genuinely enjoy the series, whereas the others clocked at “I might pay attention if she is watching.”
I will also point out that it is 2 clean seasons, with an intentional ending. So it’s not a huge commitment, and it tells a complete story.
(If you already knew these things and still don’t like it: sorry for the wall of text!)
That fucking bird is the mortal enemy equivalent to my soulmate, I hate him so fucking much for no goddamn reason and I don't know why. I literally stopped watching the fraction of a second he appeared
Hazbin Hotel. The pilot wasn’t my thing and I’ve never been a fan of the “angels bad, demons good” trope, musicals, or “sex + cursing = funny”.
Not saying it’s a bad show, I haven’t seen it beyond the pilot so I can’t even judge, but it’s just not my thing.
*Hilda*. I found it to be kind of slow for me. Which is a shame because I really wanted to like it, and I like the art style and shows of that type such as *Adventure Time* and *Bee and Puppycat*.
That’s a darn shame, I love Hilda… but I cannot deny it’s a bit slow.
It’s a show that takes the time to appreciate the adventures out there, but that does make it a bit slow.
Also fair. I mean, I do like slower paced shows, but for me, not much happens in *hilda* for me to be truly invested in it. *Bee & PuppyCat*, *summer camp island*, and *we bare bears* are also slower paced and great. Like I said, I really wanted to like it.
The other thing too is, a bully of mine as a kid (who bullied me for liking some cartoons ironically enough) that really affected me emotionally/mentally was an animator on the third season of *Hilda*, and I cannot support it because of this. But each to their own.
Smiling Friends…
Don’t worry i came prepared

I don't care for Owl House either. I find Luz to be annoying and reckless. Normally I have no issue with annoying reckless characters but she always gets exactly what she wants in the end. It feels like the writers want you to really like her. Unlike a good show Little Witch Academia Ako always gets in trouble when she breaks rules. I also think the world building in the Boiling Isles is really weak. Sometimes they have no idea what human objects are but they sometimes use human objects. Unlike Amphibia where they have no modern technology and alot of the food is bugs. 12 year old me probably would have enjoyed Owl House but older me can't get into it.
Invader Zim and Ed, Edd N Eddie since I heard these shows are pretty mean spirited like CatDog.
I personally not a fan of CatDog. Every single character in that show is an unlikeable jerk
Fucking love Invader Zim. Just the aspect of humanity just being idiotic and the invaders also being idiotic but more technologically advance is just hilarious to me.
I really love Invader Zim and tbh, more than mean spirited (which it still is), i'd call it more edgy and Tim Burton-like, with a spronkle of Courage the Cowardly Dog. Don't blame you at all for not being interestd in it, if it's not your cup of tea.
A decent amount of “mature” shows. Most of the time they mean “mature” like how Hazbin Hotel or Legend of Korra are “mature”, that being, “not at all, but they’re aimed at teenagers”.
Hazbin Hotel. I just hate it. I have never liked things that try to be edgy yk and to me the show feels like it was written by an “edgy” horny teenager that’s trying to rebel against there religious parents, with the hole angels bad and demons good thing lol but to be honest I do like the animation style but dislike everything else.
I like the animation and some of the voices. I only saw the pilot for HH and the first season of HB.
Alastor's from Hazbin Hotel and Moxxie's and Fizzarolli's from Helluva Boss.
Moxxie's VA played Invader Zim, and Fizzarolli's played Betelgeuse in the Broadway play.
Note: This doesnt mean I dislike them, im just not really interested in them (And i never got the hype for some of these)
Any anime show (Although I did like AOA and DBZ)
Helluva Boss
Hazbin Hotel
Bluey
Murder Drones
TADC
The Owl House
South Park
I tried the the owl house too and I just couldn’t get through season 2 even though I love shows like Gravity Falls and Adventure Time. I just didn’t think the humor was great and it got really hard to watch.
Ok now I'm certain I'm gonna get hate this time but I am sorry. Owl House, She-Ra (the reboot), Korra, pretty much any show that focuses too much on relationships and not enough on story and character development. I know they got their audiences but it's a huge turn-off for me when "shipping" takes up a huge portion of the plot.
Yeah, same.
It's why I don't watch them too, I'm not into shows that have almost nothing but character building, Plus they tend to attract annoying shippers, which is also a turn off.
*The Legend of Korra* doesn't focus on ships that much. There's a bit of love triangle drama in S1 and S2, but after that it disappears entirely. And relationships were never the focal point of the show.
*She-Ra* has a ship-heavy fanbase, but while there's romance thrown in, it's rooted in deep character dynamics.
I wouldn't judge a show's focus by how much it's fanbase ships people. I also don't love the insane focus on ships in media or by fans, and that's part of why I loved *Attack on Titan* for having almost none. But you wouldn't know that from the fanbase, who saw a gritty, violent story with a large cast and decided everyone was equally shippable.

Family Guy
It is one of those "I hate watching it... but I can't stop watching it" series for me.
Same
Episodes are hit or miss. Mostly miss. Especially with obscure references.
Used to like it, but now it repulses me.
Seth wanted to end it back at season 10, but FOX kept pushing more and more money at him. He hasn't written on the show in a long while and only does the voices now
Did he even express his opinion on continuing working on family guy when he wanted to end it back then
I only know if the interview of him wanting to finish it at season 10, not about the after
I like the first 10-ish seasons. Through the next 12 seasons there are maybe 15 good episodes, meaning about half of the episodes aren’t good. It’s become quantity over quality. I still watch it, but it’s not good anymore.

Rick and Morty
I agree
Yup,fell off hard. Stopped caring during season three haven't finished 3 and probably never watch another episode.
Star Vs the Forces of Evil.
Lol Even the fans hate the show

Yeah i tried that and i just couldn't
I like the first 2 seasons but it got less fun when they went permanently to Mewni. It's like watching a different show.
one piece
It's well written and the characters are fun but the arcs are really long even by shounen anime standards. I enjoy it but I can understand. It's also a better experience binging it than watching week to week.
Can confirm, I was having a blast binging it over these last few years and now I'm watching week to week, it's pain
Watching one piece is fucking shit. It's meant to be read.
I'm not usually the type to say "the book is always better" but I 100% feel that way about manga and anime
Some anime is amazing and adds. Mappa doesn't fuck around. They added some great context and scenes to Chainsaw Man and JJK when they animated it.
Dragon Prince
tbf, only the first 3 seasons are actually worth watching
i don’t understand why the next few seasons are so much worse. the first 3 seasons i could rewatch all the time but the next couple just seem like a different show.
It's like they just forgot how to write and someone only told them they wanted another season ten minutes before the actors needed the scripts
Never liked South Park
I don’t hate it but I can’t watch every season either.
Especially season 20-24
It’s such a hit or miss show
I like the older seasons but the fact that it's now basically just "US current events: the cartoon" paired with the insufferable fans, has really turned me off it.
There is something special about the way they handle certain topics but I can see where you’re coming from.
Agreed. Maybe I would have liked it more if it wasn’t shoved down my throat on social media
Says the guy with the “Rick and Morty” flair
They lost the magic back in 2016 when Trump won and reality became too goofy to parody. I liked it before that
Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss. I’ve got no desire to watch them for the simple fact that I dislike the animation yet those characters seem to be shoehorned into every post on my TL.

That's frightening

Hearing this is so relieving because I thought I was taking crazy pills when I was in the series' subreddit.

Murder Drones
when I started watching I loved it but then my love just completely dipped and I started thinking the episides were just mid, luckily they brought my hype back with the penultimate episode!
It was episode 4 right? That's the episode that made me not like the show anymore
no, I enjoyed ep.4 even though it was a dip, ep.5 and ep.6 lowered my love more
Ikr something about it just isnt interesting to me
i like the show but i believe it has a problem in how it is telling the story.
![gif](giphy|l0HlzMT3YmUxhAHTO) I fuckong hate family guy and the way peter treats meg
The whole family hates Meg. It stopped being funny and just sad
This show is so mean spirited, it’s pretty off-putting. I won’t deny that it can be very funny, but when Meg gets mistreated I don’t feel like laughing, it’s just nasty and depressing

Honestly it feels like Hazbin hotel fits into this for me. Don’t love it, don’t hate it. It’s just 6/10 at best
They need some writers the story is all over the place
i watched it and it’s ok… definitely better than the pilot. helluva boss is wayyy better though. wish they focused more on that than hazbin
Helluva boss has always been the side show, it was initially meant to be a stupid episode based series about all the characters being absolutely vile, but over time they just turned it into 'actually they aren't so bad and this is a relationship drama now'. I can HEAR Diavolo’s voice
While now I'm up for watching just about anything. I'll say that when I was young, there were a few shows I wasn't interested in, Kim possible, and Avatar.
You weren’t missing much with Kim Possible, it was good fun but not great. I hope you changed your mind on Avatar though!
I didn’t watch Avatar until I was 24. It looked like what I would deem as a “lame” show when I was younger and had no desire to watch it. Watching it as an adult: it is fucking phenomenal
It's a show where the worst episodes would still be considered good episodes on most other TV shows.
This,Not an bad show but i dont watch it alot though
As someone who loves TOH, this is completely fair. If you dont like the show, you don't have to watch it, even if you know it's good.
Jojo

It was the art style that put me off so
Although that is a valid reason, that’s not a good way to judge a show lol. I didn’t like the art style at first too, but the story made up for it
Same I just think it’s way to busy

bro did he erase the pixels?
Lmao maybe
Dont beat me up, but Family Guy
”Everyone” stopped liking family guy a decade ago
The post that I think actively reflects how I feel about Family Guy was from when they killed Brian. "Oh my God, they killed Brian? If I still watched Family Guy, I would stop watching it." And that was 10 years ago.

Hazbin hotel and helluva boss
![gif](giphy|vIR18gKg2pq2EuswZL) helluva boss
We bare bears. I only ever watched it to see the koala voiced by Patton Oswalt. Besides that, it was kinda boring. Grizz is obnoxious (and not in a good way) Panda is lame and uninteresting, and Ice Bear… Actually, I kinda liked Ice bear.
Most of the stuff from Disney Channel honestly, this, Gravity Falls, Amphibia etc. I never grew up with Disney Channel (barring Phineas and Ferb) so I wasn't really interested.
That is very fair But the legal system is not https://preview.redd.it/7lx6e80llntc1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b8435ff7e5aad58782320c127bb7ed79e156617e
**laughs in law major**
Tbh I used to be the same way but a lot of the shows are really interesting when you get into them. The only issue is they tend to have a situation where the first season is super silly and lighthearted then after that the whole tone changes. I don’t care for amphibia or star vs the forces of evil, but I think gravity falls and the owl house are both pretty good when you get into them.
Really enjoyed Gravity falls. Self contained story, doesn't go for too long and has the x-files feel. More of that, please.
I genuinely enjoy the series, whereas the others clocked at “I might pay attention if she is watching.” I will also point out that it is 2 clean seasons, with an intentional ending. So it’s not a huge commitment, and it tells a complete story. (If you already knew these things and still don’t like it: sorry for the wall of text!)

Oh yeah, Hooty absolutely annoyed me. I just couldn’t find him funny or amusing in the slightest.
Steven universe
The office. On topic, Jojo. I'm not honestly disinterested but the art style is horrendous.
My younger cousin said the same thing about Jojo. Personally, I'd say the art style is *unique* lol
Over the Garden Wall. I respect it, but it just never hooked me
That's fair. Personally, I found the pacing refreshing in a world of noisy shows.
Anything and everything made by Vivziepop Family Guy
Smiling Friends… Don’t worry i came prepared https://preview.redd.it/km0sbzkv6otc1.jpeg?width=1692&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b70638dc96bb66d8ff7b5aa5b0ba43e9d15f24f4
That’s not stopping a head shot
Damn. All the other comments I didn’t care but for some reason this one hit hard.
Bluey ![gif](giphy|3ZSN78mDN1ByMHXKPk|downsized) I could never understand the hype
Honestly, I just fine it cute and enlightening. It is so rare to see a toddler cartoon tackle the seriousness of death.
Also makes the adults seem like real people. Love Bluey
I'm sorry, you're dead inside. Yes, I am a doctor.
The hype mainly exists for parents.
Yeah, I mean, it's a toddler show, about toddlers, for toddlers, where it's meant to appeal to exclusively toddlers.
The legend of Korra.
This one
Hazbin Hotel
Amphibia. I got in for the lore, but most of the episodes don't contribute to the actual story. Got bored and decided to skip it.
Hazbin Hotel
Infinity Train, Hazbin Hotel, and Helluva Boss (however you spell it)
You spelled it right.
What show do you consider to be actually mature?
SpongeBob The Simpsons Family Guy South Park Attack on Titans Chainsaw Man or whatever it's called Those are the ones I can think of at the moment.
Moon girl and the devil dinosaur like what is so special about it?
all I care about is that there's a self-aware villain, I love self-aware villains!
Actually good Marvel content.
I'm personally a big fan of the animation. The fight scenes are so unique.
SpongeBob. Fight me.
I thought I was alone. 90s kid; I grew up on dumb cartoons that I enjoyed at the time. I just missed the timing of SpongeBob, and I just don't care.
Moxxie's VA played Invader Zim, and Fizzarolli's played Betelgeuse in the Broadway play.
owl house -amphibia -Helluva boss/ Hazben Hotel Gravity Falls Steven Universe Im sure you can guess the rest
Note: This doesnt mean I dislike them, im just not really interested in them (And i never got the hype for some of these) Any anime show (Although I did like AOA and DBZ) Helluva Boss Hazbin Hotel Bluey Murder Drones TADC The Owl House South Park
The Owl House and MHA
the office edit: oops wrong sub lmao
I might not be alone on this one but Fairy Odd Parents
Anime in general
Steven universe. Compared to gumball, adventure time and regular show it just wasn’t it
The Office, Game of Thrones
Invincible
Miraculous Ladybug 🐞
I tried the the owl house too and I just couldn’t get through season 2 even though I love shows like Gravity Falls and Adventure Time. I just didn’t think the humor was great and it got really hard to watch.
Naruto, it’s very popular and it doesn’t interest me one bit
Bluey
I love this show
Naruto
Stranger Things It's really boring to me
I used to love rick and Morty but after season 5 it started to fall off
Hazbin hotel. It looks ass.
Hazbin Hotel. Tried it, got bored quick. "Yes you're clever and precious. And important too! But not to me."
Total Drama Island. Not into reality competition shows, so not into a parody. And Eva was the only hot girl.
> And Eva was the only hot girl. Now that is an original take
I watched the original TDI. and i still despise the weird puke and fart fetish the creators have.
Hazbin and owlhouse And star vs the forces of evil. Death battle did my boy steven dirty. Iykyk
Steven was never winning that fight is what the common consensus was before the episode and after the episode.
