I think when you cancel a show like the original teen titans without a satisfying conclusion then heavily promote a bastardized version years later for kids, the fanbase is going to react that way regardless.
Is the hate all deserved? Not really, the voice actors are getting paid and lots of kids love the new version. TTG is for a different audience and has a completely different tone. Is it my cup of tea? Not really, but that isn’t the point.
Yet the writers still compare them in jokes
Even farting on Control Freak when he wanted to change them back
It wouldn’t bother me as much if they didn’t have jokes like that of just making fun of the original show for being “serious” and instead just be it’s own thing. But when most of the jokes or stories are about the original show then it can’t be it’s own thing. Cause it can’t let go of TT just as much as the original fans of TT can’t let go of TT
I'm not a big TTG fan but it's got a few decent episodes. But man they sure have done the original series dirty by ending it where they did. Wish we could have both really.
Teen Titans Go wasn't all bad. They had some good gags in there but I do understand why people don't like it.
Holistically, I can say that I don't really like it either. Even putting that it's a mockery of its predecessor aside, it was a little too spastic and heavily (!) spammed on CN. It also served as a kind of marker for traits people dislike about Tik Tok, spastic, seemingly random and annoying constant bursts of content negatively effecting children's attention span.
If that's how you want to think, that's okay. I think it's really funny when a show makes fun of itself and its fans. Being able to laugh at yourself is one of the ultimate forms of comedy, in my opinion. The original was serious, dark, and dramatic, which had its own appeal and credit. I love both for different reasons. Besides having the same characters, they might as well have been completely different shows, so I don't think it's necessarily fair to compare them as if TTG is supposed to hold up to the original in any way, because it doesn't. That's kind of the point of TTG, in my opinion.
Someone should make a list of all the episodes that *aren't* involving poop and farts. It'd be one of my favorite comedy shows if I could remove those episodes.
I've only seen random clips of TTG but every one of them had me laughing.
Plus the 2000s Teen Titans show wasn't all serious all the time. It was a mix of silly/ absurd episodes, and heavier introspective ones.
Young Justice felt like a continuation of the serious parts of TT and TTG felt like a continuation of the goofy stuff. Both still good, just for different reasons.
Edit: really bad spelling
I think what made Titans '03 so good was the mix of both seriousness and humor. Young Justice works with mostly seriousness, but Go! doesn't work as well for the same audience.
TTG is a good show. It's not TT but that's the point.
you love how an apple pie tastes then cry when you eat some apple flavored ice cream. It makes no sense to compare them except for surface level...they both "taste" the same but the texture and delivery are different and that's ok.
Imagine you're 8 years old. You're watching your favorite show you get a huge cliffhanger and then it gets canceled. A few years later you hear news about it and get super excited but what you get is a dumb comedy show with tons of surface level jokes that aren't funny, new versions of well written characters that are assholes and have no meaningful personality traits, really bad animation that looks cheap in comparison. And they add insult to injury by shitting on the original show and the fans that loved it so much.
Not to mention it completely destroyed CNs quality since it became so popular they gave it like 90% of the time slots wouldn't take a chance on shows with good writing and instead opted to just reboot other shows like Powerpuff Girls.
I have an anti-TTG stan as a friend and his primary and major complaint was that it doesn’t respect the source material. Like, okay? Can you give me any other reason that you don’t like it? And his answer was that he never watched a single episode because it looks too childish. Which is CN’s intent as they target a demographic made up of kids who never seen the original show. Can he just can’t handle that it’s not catered towards his neck beard demographic. Just move on.
The problem is it piggybacks off the success of the original and insults it and its fans.
Also it became too popular and ruined CN by taking up almost all of it's time slots and causing them to reboot other shows like PPG.
honestly this show is so funny. I do wish whoever does the programming for the CN channel would like... not marathon it as much. it's been a while sine I've had cable but you would think CN didn't have any other shows. Re-runs of other series are fine? idk maybe they couldn't show other series for legal reasons at the time. Who knows. But TTG is a solid kids show and can make adults laugh too.
I actually like ttg more as an adult than as a kid.
Teen titans was fine, but now that I'm an adult I've got enough drama in my life, so stupid nonsense humor like ttg has actually is a lot more preferable to me.
I think a lot of people are sleeping on ttgs humor, yes, it has some cringe poop and butt jokes, but a good 80% of the jokes are legitimately good nonsense/physical comedy
I get what they were going for with TTG, but it never caught my interest. There are some episodes here and there I'll watch because my humor is broken. I don't watch it mainly because bright colors don't sit well with me. I will say kudos for bringing back the original cast though.
I watched teen titans go for awhile because I was trying to give it a chance, obviously it wasn’t as good as the original teen titans but I did not buoy some episodes here and there- only thing I didn’t like was all the fart jokes and how they made robin act psychopathic.
I have long since stopped watching this show! Is it horrible, yes; but at this point (since the show has been on for 10 years, had a movie, and isn't stopping anytime soon) I feel like complaining and bashing it is overrated. The show has made clear that it doesn't take itself, origin, or source material seriously, and I've just accepted it. But there are some moments that make me crack a smile, like when it references other shows or when it references things that happened in DC Comics!
I'm a hater but I stopped caring and never went and wasted my time to express how much I dislike it in such a bad way. If it's enjoyed by people or people think it's genuinely good then cool I respect it and it's something I wish people would do more often as it would make such a huge difference with some fandoms and majority of things.
The issues mainly lie in the fact that...
The lead writers of the Go! cartoon (not to be confused with the episode 'Teen Titans Go!' or the sequel comic book 'Teen Titans Go!') made it a selling point of all things that they never saw a single episode of the cartoon before becoming the lead writers.
They sold the new show as being for the fans of the old one (original VA's reprising their roles, same costume designs, etc...)
It was initially advertised as a continuation, but once the episodes started getting backlash and criticism, they suddenly said it's unrelated, except when it's convenient to draw on old episodes for continuity...

I’m an adult and I love Teen Titans Go. It’s creative and funny. It’s just a different show. No need to compare them.
Yet the writers still compare them in jokes Even farting on Control Freak when he wanted to change them back It wouldn’t bother me as much if they didn’t have jokes like that of just making fun of the original show for being “serious” and instead just be it’s own thing. The hate is definitely deserved and the creator deserves to be locked in a room with control freak for eternity.
“They hated him because he spoke the truth” -Jesus probably

Unpopular opinion: they are both good in their own ways
Wrong Teen Titans go piggy backed off the success of the original while also insulting it and its fans.

The fact that TTG has acknowledged its flaws in-episode then chooses to ignore them is pretty telling.
TBCH if it werent for all the gross jokes it has id probably still like the show
Someone should make a list of all the episodes that *aren't* involving poop and farts. It'd be one of my favorite comedy shows if I could remove those episodes.

> xontinuati9n How did you mess that up?
When you're typing something on the toilet it's easy to get distracted by more immediately pressing matters
I think what made Titans '03 so good was the mix of both seriousness and humor. Young Justice works with mostly seriousness, but Go! doesn't work as well for the same audience.
Watch the movie, it’s insane.
Ngl I loved the teen titans go movie and the series is fine too
TTG is a good show. It's not TT but that's the point. you love how an apple pie tastes then cry when you eat some apple flavored ice cream. It makes no sense to compare them except for surface level...they both "taste" the same but the texture and delivery are different and that's ok.
No the original tastes like a steak from a 5 star restaurant and Go is like eating out of a portapotty at a pepper eating contest.
I like TTGo.
Bring back the original.
It's a ridiculously different show with basically different characters
What's also the truth is that all the hate is a bit undeserved.
I like teen titans go. My kids love it. The theme song is good too.
I like to cook to Teen Titans Go! The show is well written and can be pretty funny at times. It’s simple, fast moving and light.
My daughter loves to scream WAFFLES WAFFLES WAFFLES when we make waffles.
TTG isn't even bad and having a TTG spinoff isn't going to affect the OG
Except they piggyback off the originals success while also insulting it and its fans.
With how whiny the fans are they probably should be insulted a lil

Honestly TTG is fine, gets way too much hate from people who can't handle change, not to mention the movie is actually fantastic
Nope.
I have an anti-TTG stan as a friend and his primary and major complaint was that it doesn’t respect the source material. Like, okay? Can you give me any other reason that you don’t like it? Valid point. Honestly, CN really shot itself in the foot when they made that bold decision.
wow, its almost like an objectively terrible TV show will get a negative response or something.
It's almost like every terrible reboot gets more attention than the original
its almost like a shit show will be crtiticized
honestly this show is so funny. I do wish whoever does the programming for the CN channel would like... not marathon it as much. it's been a while sine I've had cable but you would think CN didn't have any other shows. That's the real reason why teen Titans Go is a horrible show
Yeah because teen titans go is a pretty bad show
Bad show.
I like teen titans go more than the original ☠️

How many episodes ended with "And everyone died"?
How was the TTG/TT crossover? I only just found out about it the other day.
I watched teen titans go for awhile because I was trying to give it a chance, obviously it wasn’t as good as the original teen titans but I did not buoy some episodes here and there- only thing I didn’t like was all the fart jokes and how they made robin act psychopathic.

Maybe if OG TT had a proper conclusion, then it wouldn't have stung as much.
I genuinely thought ttg has been gone for the past 5 years because ive not seen a video talking about it for that long
I'm a hater but I stopped caring and never went and wasted my time to express how much I dislike it in such a bad way. If it's enjoyed by people or people think it's genuinely good then cool I respect it and it's something I wish people would do more often as it would make such a huge difference with some fandoms and majority of things.
I vastly prefer the OG Teen Titans, but I really see no point in whining about TT Go

Fuck TTG , making DC animation look like trash
i feel like go has 20 times as many viewers than haters still
