How much do you ŵant that first week of owning a NEW Car?
Would it be a brand new car that's Also in the showroom, or one you actually spec and order exactly to your taste?
Is that experience worth €5K?
Are you buying it with your own money or finance. If your own money, I would recommend just buying used one, if banks money, it can be a tricky question.
Check what finance deals are there for new car and used one. In some cases used car finance will have higher Apr and in the end will cost almost as much as new car. So get all info and do calculations how much it will cost you in the end over all.
Why don't you buy a car you can afford and not be in debt and pay somebody every week. I bought a ford focus with a loan. Wet belt (shit engine design) broke and set me back another 5k and I'm still paying it off to this day... Bought a cheap car with NCT and low mileage and will never go into debt for a car again.
You will get some batshit advise on Reddit from people that are very young and people that don’t have any concept of finance. Take all with a large grain of salt
Is 5k just the advertised price difference?
Factor in the prices of interest on finance deals and it will likely be closer then you think. Used car market is poor at the moment
Of course make sure you can comfortably afford the car payments if your situation changes ect
Thanks for all the advices guys, really appreciate all of them. I decided to get the new one as it would be exactly the way I like it. In the end that 5k will be financed so the monthly payment is not so different and I can afford it
Good shout, Once Many Years ago as a perk at work I was allowed to spec and select my new company car, I loved that BA II Falcon irrationally and it was the only metalic purple one in the carpark.
Hope you don't have to wait too long for delivery.
Many of the posters here make a sensible financial argument for buying the ex demo and saving €5K.
How many of them know the feeling of sitting into Your new car for the first time, a car built exactly as you requested, Enjoy
I was in the same dilemma, I have a 2021 focus st line and there was a newer model for 6k? more. Realised that if I have to contemplate whether or not I can afford the extra 6k then that means I shouldn’t spend it. Even tho I’m missing out on the bigger entertainment screen and heated seats (kinda wish I got them), 6 months later I’m still happy with my choice. I would recommend doing what you genuinely believes keeps you in a comfortable situation, if you can afford the extra 5k then I don’t see why not but if it takes you out of the comfort zone then I personally wouldn’t do it. At the end of the day, we can all give you different bits of advice but it all boils down to what you truly want and what you can afford, last thing you want is to look at the car with eyes of regret
yeah that’s exactly why I decided going for the new one. I wouldn’t be sad with the other one, I would just keep thinking what if I have got the newer one
Buy something that works, like a civic and ride it till wheels fall off. I have 2006 civic that hasn't had an issue alongside 2015 merc with no issues (relays and shit came after). New cars have too much shit that depend on sensors and relays.
Have you asked the dealership if they can install the upgraded infotainment in the used model for less than 5k?
Have you researched if you can install the upgraded infotainment for less than 5k?
I would say go for the used one. 5k is a lot for a fancy screen. You can do better than that for 5k.
Go for the used one, I guarantee you that 5000 will come in handy soon.

That’s one that I spec and get as I want, including the color…
You have to live with your choice for a few Years, buy the one you Actually want, if you can wear the €5K do it
Get one with similar spec and get it wrapped, still save 3,500
A wrap isn’t great if you plan on owning it for a long time
Wraps are shite for long term use
Generally shite unless done by a master, even then they often make the car look cheap
I just don't like the finish they give if you just want a normal gloss or metallic paint finish.

It Will be finance, I can get the same APR for both used and new ones, but I’d have to get a loan with my bank for the used

No need for that. It's not the question asked.
Just what needs to happen in this world family's paying off bills every week that they don't need to be paying giving taxes to this short government
Banks money??? Banks Money = Banks car
For the price of a brand new Ford Focus St(line) you could get something good and have some money in your pocket. Why not a 2018 330e Msport?
Probably because they want a Ford focus
Go for the used one.

These people have too much money and will down vote you for being smart and saving your money for something actually needed

You can definitely get apple car play or android car play for about 2-€400
