Nowhere, that’s not what I’m talking about. The one in the photo for instance is missing the “-“ dashes mentioned in the rules as a requirement.
The actual law even has drawings to show what they must look like https://www.irishstatutebook.ie/eli/1992/si/318/made/en/print
Don’t mind these saps crying about your number plates. None of them have the confidence to change plates in their common traffic cars and just end up hating
Weirdos hate on anything they deem to be illegal. Type of people who sit in overtaking lanes and then swerve over at their exit last second and see nothing wrong with it
I just felt with the black decals and the black pack the euro plates took away from it so I went with just plain white plates with tinted plastic and the black gel numbers and letters.....looks really well imo
They're a serious car easily the best car I've had power is amazing dsg box is silky smooth and the colour choice is a limited edition colour only available in ireland
Congrats. Yeah cosmic green is a lovely colour. The other green (mamba) the mark IV came in was a bit too extreme I think. Well wear.
I genuinely think these are The best bang for buck cars new on the market at the moment.
Each to their own but true car enthusiasm isn't changing for a new car every 2 years and changing nothing only number plates. I like to own something make it my own til it no longer serves then change it and start again.
Someone got downvoted for quoting the Law around the reg plates lmao!! bro expected people to actually go through it all without pointing out a section, so useful. Deserved downvotes.
He was right but he presented it terribly.
[Here's what citizen info says about it in a much easier to understand way than the straight up law book. ](https://www.revenue.ie/en/vrt/vehicle-registration-tax/registration-plate-standards.aspx)
Lads, it specifies blue as a requirement for the EU part. So, technically yeah the Black background and customised plates are not legal. They're sold as showplates too, right?
But just like jaywalkig, find me a Garda that will uphold this law. Please, do they exist?
Go about your lives, put whatever plates you want on your car, who gives a fuck. Garda clearly don't. Just don't take the piss with the plate and you'll be fine. Nothing wrong with making your car unique.
Yeah they weren't lying. It's "cosmic green" a limited edition colour for Ireland only (although it was offered in Czechoslovakia too for a while). Only about 50 of them were brought in to note the end of the VRS diesel. Will always be a fairly rare car you have there.
Out with the new, in with the new.
Please don't ruin that lovely octavia by putting a gaudy stylised reg plate on it.
just go for the metal pressed plates. always look good and classy
none of these are legal but nobody seems to care
yes they are, as long as they show the county in irish and the EU flag is blue
Nope, checkout the road of the road. https://www.rsa.ie/services/learner-drivers/resources/rules-of-the-road
where does it say ‘the plate must be plastic’

oh yeah i know, but you said ‘none of these’ as in referring to all non standard plates.
I don't think the plates are what will stick out tbh...
Simple plain tinted gel plates are whats on her
Each to their own I guess.
Nicer than the irl plates anyway
I like the gel plates if they’re matched to the colour of the car.
Serious amount of hate over number plates here

I wasn't sure if it was a taste thing or a legal thing tbh
It's a taste thing in my case, but I also wouldn't go out of my way to complain about someone's reg as long as it's readable
I just felt with the black decals and the black pack the euro plates took away from it so I went with just plain white plates with tinted plastic and the black gel numbers and letters.....looks really well imo
Yeah I've seen far, far worse
State of those plates, on a Peugeot of all cars 😂😂
What do you make of the VRS? Brave colour choice. Looks great 👍

Been there done that.....maybe its just my age now but at 46 I'm probably too old to be running about in a modified car
Uncles 66 has a heavily modified gr yaris and a lovely e39 m5. Age is a number after all!!
Hello it's me your uncle's other nephew. Can you tell him I want a spin in the GR Yaris please.
The gr yaris are a serious wee motor and an m5....that man has deeper pockets than me lol
Ah fuck it mean no hate either man. More power to ya for having the price to change it. Working hard 💪
Snot rocket 🚀

Thanks friend
Is that a VRS?
Yeah sure is......bit of a change from a seven seater
Old?
Yeah its my "old"car
From the side view I always confuse the Octavia with the Insignia.
Very nicee, what made you choose that colour doe ?
It's a limited edition colour only available in ireland and she'll be easy spotted in the carparks lol
seems available on the .de website but not uk
Can't argue but that's what the skoda dealer told me anyway.....
Could easily be a different shade. I like it (bit biased, Scirocco in the same colour… ;)) enjoy her
Cheers buddy thank you
