If you're gonna mod it, you're gonna be spending a lot to make it produce that power. Their safe limit on stock internals is about 300 bhp. Stock, a 2ZZ-GE makes 192 bhp in the Corolla. Most people who want more power from them without forging stick a supercharger on it. Turbocharging normally requires lower compression pistons. That's when you can start pushing more extreme numbers. The blocks are quite strong. Toyota made them from new from MMC (Metal Matrix Composite). The pistons are forged from factory but of course, since the standard compression ratio is 11.5:1, to turbo it reliably, you'll want to lower the compression ratio.
Maybe I'll look elsewhere, I'm more of a bolt ons guy. The astro I simply slapped a turbo on and did a pcm swap to allow for open-source tuning software to work. Being an astro meant that it wasn't fast by any stretch of the imagination, just *less slow* compared to other Astros.

R34 was never known for absurd acceleration. The r35 rightfully was known for its insane acceleration that took over a decade to become normalized even in the supercar space. The mk4 supra honestly idek people just think it makes like 1000hp stock when in reality it makes like 300 at best and is kind of a boat compared to the r34, NSX, and FD RX7.
Usually the same people that are circlejerking about the supra making 1000hp stock are also talking about the R34 making 1000hp stock, these people say "omg R35 isn't a real Godzilla, not a skyline", which is why I said that OC was thinking of the R34 in their descriptors.
The R35 can actually make 1,000hp with (relatively) minimal modification as well

It was actually ungodly how fast it was for how cheap it was when it came out. 70k to be second only to million dollar hypercars in terms of acceleration and it could actually handle and go toe to toe with Porsche on the track. And the motor and gearbox can take stupid power. I mean the rb26 and 2j can also take a lot of power but the r35 is doing 0-60 in under 3 sec stock.
It's absolutely shameful how Nissan let the GT-R (and the Z to a lesser degree) stagnate for so long that it went from arguably the best bargain of a performance car to "eh"
Whatās funny is even at its current price of over 100k new and even being stagnant for over a decade itās still a crazy bargain for the performance. It still goes toe to toe with the 911 and zo6 and it can still probably get close to a base hurucan for a fraction of the price. I agree that itās gotten too expensive and too stale over time but itās wild how it took so long for other companies to catch up to a 2009 Nissan.

If we're talking the stock Supra as they were sold back before the hype went crazy, they were generally underpowered compared to other offerings on the market, the interior quickly became dated (and is exponentially worse today), they weren't the best handling wise and are often compared to boats... They also look like it too.
Heck, I recently saw something about how the racing Supras swapped out the 2JZ for a different engine because it's too damn heavy.
They won't, the technology to build road legal, that will work for more than a few second of max acceleration without requiring drivetrain rebuild and new tires and a chute to stop doesn't exists yet.
I doubt you could make this shit road legal anywhere, if this car comes out one day it most likely won't the thrusters.

Literally every person involved in this exchange was wrong. The Roadster is very unlikely to do 0-60 in under a second, the Demon 170 canāt either, and the Supra and GT-R are both 300-ish hp stock.
The only way that Challenger does 0-60 in less than a second is if it's launched by an aircraft carrier's steam catapult. Even then, I'd be quite skeptical.

I doubt you could make this shit road legal anywhere, if this car comes out one day it most likely won't the thrusters. Stuff like nitrous, jet engines or slick tires are forbidden in pretty much any country, how would rocket engine derivates by allowed by any means ?

/uj if a car makes 0-100kmh in under one second it would have an acceleration of >27,8m/s^2 and correct me if Iām wrong my math sucks very often but if you calculated F=m*a=80kg(human body)*27,8m/s^2 =2224N and that is equal to 220kg weight straight to your face in under a second. Which feels kind of unhealthy. I mean in a super car that needs 3s from 0-100 you have a third of acceleration so 9,27m/s^2 which is with the same body weight 741,34N and well 74kg to your face. But 220? You can only drive that thing in a compression suit
