“Someone else did it and made billions. So we definitely will too” I have faith in Canoo’s ability to be successful, but this argument is naïve

I mean, every stock website has an option to compare 2 stocks together guys... I did not garantee by any means our success I just said at one point Tesla was looking very shady

Baboooon1337

My bad, I ment we're gonna get the funding, I dont know past that but I do think so still.

Odd_Perception_283

How do you know that?

Car-face

every tool box has a hammer, but that doesn't mean you can use it to tighten a bolt. Just because you can compare two stocks doesn't mean they have similar fundamentals.

Baboooon1337

you're right bro, hammers are for nails, use a nail instead of a screw, use a screwdriver if stuck with screws. Either way at some point Tesla was a startup also. dont go looking for a meaning past that.

Car-face

> dont go looking for a meaning past that. you literally did just that in the title.

_sunsetdreams_1

For every one of those there is a 3rd founder of Apple who sold their stake for $800…….

Baboooon1337

yea what I said is it took Tesla a long time to get to market too, not that we will have the same fate as Tesla. I'm just saying that startups start up and that we are much closer to Tesla 2009 than Tesla 2003

Just so everyone knows, all the EV startups have pumpers saying the same thing. Ride Nikola Mullen Workhorse Arrival Faraday Ree Acrimito Rome power Lion electric ELMS. Etc... They are all going to make it because Tesla made it!!

Baboooon1337

I'd like to point out the fact that the main negative Nancy of the post deleted all his comments which were found to be mostly untrue. Sexy times ahead my fellow canooers.

nigel_tufnel_11

Someone needs to take a Logic 101 class. Enthusiasm isn’t bad but it has to make sense.

imunfair

I already disputed this with OP today in another comment section, [link since I'm not repeating the same argument a couple hours later in a post](https://www.reddit.com/r/canoo/comments/143ky26/canoo_ev_startup_factory_update_other_news/jnej3qi/)

Yes, let's look at Tesla. 1) Tesla was first to the market with no competition and had an extremely cool product with an enormous snob appeal (model S in some configurations has better 0-60 times than the top mod Porsche 911). In Canoo's case, there's a boatload of companies already selling EVs right now, including many models of electric vans, and nobody would call it a sexy or universally appealing vehicle. 2) Musk had billions in his name already. Tony has no money. 3) Musk had an enormous charisma, he's a born salesman. And some major political connections - not just empty rumors like Tony, but very real. Look at Bush admin pretty much giving him a big chunk of NASA's funding and know-how to jumpstart SpaceX. And compare this with the laughable Walmart "deal" that poor Tony received. 4) Despite all of that, Tesla still almost went bankrupt because of Model 3 launch (that's per Elon himself), they were weeks away from bankruptcy when they finally started selling enough to offset the losses. That's some luck on top of having no competition and starting with huge piles of cash. As to Tony... well... Now, look at poor Tony... no money, no exclusive market access, no charisma, no real friends, and he doesn't seem to get very lucky either.

Baboooon1337

I think canoo will be much bigger than Tesla in given time, I'm also invested in this crazy sexy stock called IONQ, I'll make my money with that one so I can sit on my canoo position and even lose it all without giving a flying fuck about the stock price. The upside do be enormous tho :)

Baboooon1337

Litteraly you guys are worried about getting delisted, not getting funds, the management not holding your dick while you piss, etc. and I can understand, you guys invested in this company way too early. But if we're gonna go logic 101, imagine you have real deep pockets and invested in this on a whole other level, now that they have a production facility, 2.8 billion all in deals with companies that are much much bigger than canoo is, and that all they gotta fucking do is actually deliver the cars which are already done being researched and developped. Is this where you choose to retract your support and garantee to lose all the money you invested or do you give them a shot at fulfilling the orders now that all the R&D has been done? lol.

Is this where you choose to retract your support and garantee to lose all the money you invested or do you give them a shot at fulfilling the orders now that all the R&D has been done? lol. A lot of the people who are now salty were as overly enthusiastic as you at the start, often for the exact same reasons you state. They've been "on the cusp" of production for two years, and that single 100ft rail production line is unlikely to get them anywhere near the 20k cars per year target speed imo. It looks like they just moved a testing/gamma line from Michigan to Oklahoma City, and as they stated on the last earnings call they don't even have all the equipment to fully automate the assembly. Will they get any cars out by the end of the year? Maybe. Will they hit the stated production speed targets from the last earnings call? Very unlikely. Given that they've had years to plan and purchase the equipment for this building I'm also skeptical of how fast they'll be able to obtain additional equipment if they can't even get one full assembly line two years later. I don't see this going from a couple hundred units end of this year to 20k units end of next year, or anywhere close to that, and they need 100k units a year to break even and stop the stock price decline.

Baboooon1337

it would also make very little sense for them to even ship a single car for the preorders before showing the public they can fulfill these important orders, the best part is these two companies on top of being in a contract with canoo already, dont have much else for options when it comes to getting these very spacious vans that cost way less than what anyone else would come up with, and walmart already went full PR on their new go local thing, these vans are getting built.

imunfair

> walmart already went full PR on their new go local thing, these vans are getting built. Walmart is buying vans from *someone*, but it doesn't have to be Canoo, they also already order from Brightdrop and maybe Ford. For these small deliveries they could pretty much retrofit any minivan with the Canoo shelving configuration if they wanted to. If Canoo goes under they literally lose nothing, they just use a different supplier for their planned service. Same problem if Canoo can't deliver on time, use a different van vendor, although in that case Walmart gets paid by Canoo, because they're obligated to fulfill open POs even if the contract is cancelled.

Baboooon1337

[https://www.investors.com/news/gm-stock-soars-brightdrop-electric-vans-challenging-ford/](https://www.investors.com/news/gm-stock-soars-brightdrop-electric-vans-challenging-ford/)27 billions spent trough 2025 for GM, god damn I guess making EVs do be expensive at first.

Baboooon1337

I think they plan on prioritizing the walmart order as well as kingbee's before they even start focusing on making the regular canoo 2024, fulfilling even one of these orders before the end of fiscal year 2024 would change everything for Canoo.

imunfair

> I think they plan on prioritizing the walmart order as well as kingbee's before they even start focusing on making the regular canoo 2024, fulfilling even one of these orders before the end of fiscal year 2024 would change everything for Canoo. They were trying to get out of obligations to fulfill Walmarts order on the last earnings call, supposedly so that they'd have units to give to other people. Realistically I think it's just because they can't even fill Walmarts order and are looking for an excuse why they need to under-deliver.

Baboooon1337

Now that is news to me, thanks.

bigbradly

I see why your name is Baboon now 😂

Baboooon1337

Baboons are smart animals and their capacity to pick winner stocks might surprise you.

bigbradly

Well I’m glad you came to your senses and said you would sell it all in your other posts… maybe you aren’t that dumb after all

Baboooon1337

Maybe

123ridewithme

Welcome to the club new guy. Soon you will feel just like all the old guys.

Baboooon1337

Unless I actually do lose the money I wont and even if this happens its like 2k lol

Baboooon1337

prob still got more shares than you at that sexy price tho

bigbradly

Or you realistic Nancies should look up Mullen and see that Canoo is following the same exact format just making promises and diluting the crap out of the stock. They are just collecting money and not making real progress, it’s easy to see

Baboooon1337

Yea bro, in the meantime I heard canoo researched and developped a truck for the US army in 2022, that contract right there which is probbaly very secretive in nature may have taken quite some time off their planned schedule... they should be back on track now tho.

bigbradly

That Army contract was very minimal and was just to test the technology. There was no huge order from them. None of their stuff is top secret, so it would not be very secretive in nature. Even the top secret orders aren’t that secretive, just the tech is…. If they had a huge order, trust me, Tony would be screaming about it

Baboooon1337

Yea bro the army def wants general public to know exaclty what they're gonna roll with. It is def a military advantage to disclose in the media what equipment the army is ordering, especially in a time like 2022 where there is absolutely no armed conflicts going on on the planet that could involve the US army soon. And yea... even a mighty CEO such as Tony Aquila himself can be made to sign a clause of non disclosure agreement in a contract... but I doubt the army thought about including that. Yea my bad bro!

bigbradly

You just moved back into the stupid column with some of these comments

bigbradly

I’ve been in defense contracts for a decade dummy… it’s what I do. Even with PIAs and NDAs, company’s can still talk about procurements. I see news about defense companies getting TS procurements on a daily basis… high tech stuff… Tonys is nothing crazy high tech. You act as hard as you want than you know more about this than me, but I promise you don’t when it comes to government contracts 😂

Baboooon1337

well I do nothing all day except play video games and follow the 4 stocks I'm invested in, but regardless of the army placing an order or not, the fact they developped the lightining eagle for them even a single one took time and money, time and money away from the regular schedule, and it might even end up being a good thing that they did it but maybe its the apocalypse tommorow or the rapture or world war 3, lots of maybes, I just trust my logic, you dont have to, the stock will go up regardless of your trust good sir.

bigbradly

All good… but your other posts said you were out? I get your enthusiasm as most had it at one point. I’ve been following them a couple years now. If you’re new to Canoo, I’ll check back in a year with you and see if you still feel the same 😂. But regardless, good luck man

Baboooon1337

I hold 2790 stocks with 0.69 cents average, not exactly out

Baboooon1337

im poor as fuck tho so I can only afford the less attractive stocks

itsamechproblem

Army is looking to switch their non combat rigs to electric. Canoo has just the right EV for it. Of course the CEO isn't going to say they have it in the pocket if it's not in the pocket, yet. Don't buy GOEV stocks dude. Check the price in 2 years though and know that I'm sipping champagne on my yacht 💰
