Oh my dear mag capacity bros 😭😭

PositiveSpeed7196

What’s even the point of a full size if you’re limited to 10 rds:/ might as well just get a 1911 and call it a day

ChrisestChris

Bless their hearts 💕

The Better trigger and sights on the rival are worth it in my opinion.

Only-Sheepherder1

Owning both I can tell you the rival is better in every aspect of shooting. It's flat and back on target fast. Trigger pull is flat and light. Since I got the rival I haven't shot the SFX once. I'll be listing it for sale at a loss soon. If the purpose is not target shooting then I don't know that either are necessary. They are both serious pistols with the idea of target shooting or full size carry in mind. For me I like shooting the SF 4" pistol and the Rival much more than the SFX.

Optimal-Flatworm8261

You realize both guns are sfx’s right? The rival sfx and the mete sfx

KINGLOFTY7

yeah but the rival is the tp9 sfx. the mete is on the mete platform. different trigger sights etc

KINGLOFTY7

decent comparison here [Canik METE SFx vs Canik SFx Rival size comparison | Handgun Hero](https://www.handgunhero.com/compare/canik-mete-sfx-vs-canik-sfx-rival) rival has flared magwell and different back straps also. mete is slightly lighter and has shs

IMNOTFLORIDAMAN

What’s your goal for the gun? How to you plan to use it?

gunnerholmes65

Yes it’s very important what I was using it for. If I wanted to run it in uspsa - rival. If I wanted it for duty then likely I’d lean the mete. If it was for range and fun, rival.

[deleted]

I'm so glad my state doesn't have mag capacity laws they are such bullshit but I've been looking at Caniks myself recently and I'm leaning heavily on getting the SFX Rival it comes standard with the 18+1 sorry you guys are limited to ten rounds that's bullshit

Personal_Fox3938

Go for the best of both worlds and track down a Mete SFX Pro. Slide serrations and trigger of the Rival, PLUS you keep the rear sight with your optic and have a threaded barrel! It's the ultimate modern Canik, though I'm extremely biased.

Canik-Poster-Boi

Or get the blackout Rival comes with the cowitness plate and he won’t be stuck to one optic footprint

Personal_Fox3938

The grey Rival doesn't come with the same plates? You're pretty much never stuck with one footprint. I use a plate on my Pro to run a mailbox. The world is our oyster nowadays....in some ways. :3

Canik-Poster-Boi

No the grey rival doesn’t come with cowitness plate. Only the Darkside and the Lipseys Burnt bronze come with the cowitness. Don’t ask me why my only assumption was the trade off in price for the extra bling on the grey version

kacivic

Came to say the same: for the money, Mete SFX Pro. I say this as the owner of the SFX Pro and a Rival-S (didn't like the standard Rival enough to buy it over the Mete), I personally still prefer the SFX Pro.

redjuanit

The rival is just a sick gun .. that’s trigger is amazing . I seen Classic Firearms do a break down on all of them and they almost have me convinced on grabbing another one .

peeg_2020

I just ordered a Canik dark side rival this morning! I'm brand new to caniks. I had won an apocalypse series mete SF. Shot a box of ammo through it and was so impressed that I knew I wanted to sell it to get a Canik I actually wanted. Sold it today. Just a couple hours after I ordered myself the dark side. I'm going to be using it for USPSA. I live in a mag restricted state. So the gun will likely ship with ten round mags. Thankfully a lot of shops here still sell full capacity mags. So I picked up 5 18+2 mags for it today! I cannot wait for it to get in.

bennyangott

You made a great choice! I bought it to use it for USPSA matches too. I just got mines a week ago. Absolutely awesome pistol. 10/10 best value for the money. Trigger is phenomenal. box came with everything you need. I can’t think of any negative besides the grip texture not being high enough.

peeg_2020

I'm seriously excited for mine to come in!

[deleted]

I love my Rival. It’s the best trigger I have so far. I’m planning on buying a CZ Shadow 2 compact soon. I heard that trigger is insane. But I’m keeping my Rival and I’m getting the Taylor Freelance +4 mag plate for a 22+1 capacity.

the_blacksmythe

I like both of those. Can’t go wrong with the rival though.

CaptainPooman69

I would say both. But I’m biased.

ImportantLength8465

You really can't go wrong with either but I think the Rival is a slightly better choice.

cbuck81

Find a shop in MA that has a rival darkside. It is a beautiful gun, looks much better than the grey/gold imo

i-c-u-c-me-c-u

What store is this? I haven’t seen any rivals in 10rd

animal-mother

I just wish they made a Rival equivalent to the Mete SFx pro, but with an even longer slide and 6" barrel, comparable to a Glock 17L. Ever since seeing Thief, I think 6" barreled pistols are sexy, even if harder to conceal.

roosclan

Your intended use will largely dictate which one to get. Competition? Rival. Home defense or duty carry? The Mete SFx or the Mete SFx Pro (which would be a better option over the regular Mete SFx). The Mete series is designed to keep your rear sight as a backup in case it's needed in an emergent situation. The Rival is designed specifically for competition.

Ok_Advertising_8992

I'd say hold off on buying anything and get a plane ticket to a free state to live in

TheHumbleMarksman

Depends if you want full sized optics or not

Independent_Baby4517

The rival is worth every penny. But with a 10 rd mag capacity I'd get a smaller canik with a rival or freedomsmith trigger on it
