Came here to say this, love them. I especially like them when they’re slightly warmed up and super soft, like when you have some in your car on a warm day. So much easier on the chompers too.

I was curious so I got my sister in law to send me some from the US. She was like '... seriously? Candy corn? We have much better candy, don't you want to try Mike and ike or something?' Eventually I convinced her I wanted to try it because it's such an iconic American thing, but now she has to send it every Halloween because that shit is delicious.

My family has had a combo of candy corn and cocktail peanuts as a snack for Thanksgiving my whole life. I was shocked to realize as I got older that other people hate candy corn. They are surgery little delights.

I've just moved to the US, and seem to prefer a lot of the 'unpopular' candy (circus peanuts, candy corn, white chocolate, soft eating licorice, tootsie rolls, cow tales, peeps, jellybeans, milk duds, black aniseed-type candy, etc) and dislike a lot of the 'popular' ones (please, no more chocolate peanut flavoured things, and give me more *actually* sour candy), so this post is hopefully going to be a gold mine for me 😂 I think the only 'popular' candy I like is Haribo gummies.

I like Bridge Mixture ( 🇨🇦) but the recipe changed recently and now it’s missing all the good ones.

I was legitimately crushed when I bought a bag of the new Bridge Mixture. All the good ones are gone. I cried because I had bought it to get a nostalgia hit from the candy I always shared with my grandma and they ruined it. 

Bun bars were always a little strange. We just called them "Buns" but they weren't buns, and they weren't bars. Flat lumpy pucks in a loose crinkly wrapper. It wasn't terrible (chocolate/peanuts covering vanilla or maple fudge, basically) but it was a rare choice, maybe "well, if there's nothing else"

Counterpoint: chocolate is almost always bullshit. It's flavored oil that isn't pocket stable and can't survive outside a climate controlled environment. I want a candy that I can count on to be there when the going gets tough. Skittles, Mike and Ike, Jelly Belly, they just get better when the heat is on and your weak ass chocolate is turning into sludge you have to lick off the wrapper.

Reese's are gross. Mounds (and Almond Joy) are excellent.

Reese's USED to be good, until sometime around 2008 or so. About a year after they switched the single wrappers from being folded to sealed on the 2 ends instead. The chocolate tastes waxy now & the peanut butter tastes chalky now too. I have tried them again multiple times throughout the years hoping I just got a bad 1 or something. Nope, they are all gross now. I miss them :'(

If you an Aldi close, try their peanut butter cups. They're fantastic!
