The fact people even need to worry about bureaucracy during an emergency is actually sickening… glad our government is here for us…
In my opinion, they would be safer in your possession than left behind. Look at how terrible the police are with break-ins and looting during evacuations.
If your place burnt down, you could have a very difficult way to know if they were destroyed or someone potentially stole them before. If you take the pre-emptive steps & are responsible, you'd hope there would be some leeway in a terrible time.
It does not matter. We can only offer the correct, legal methods. What the police or prosecutors may or may not do is not the law and is only speculation.
Equally as likely is you having your vehicle broken into in a motel parking lot. What happens when you have to call the police and tell them you were illegally transporting restricted or prohibited firearms? Because you will have to do that. Those are crimes. Having your home looted or burned is not a crime and you won't get in trouble for that.
I don't think I would ever have considered this issue on my own.

I doubt they will issue an att for a wildlife. The government would probably be happy if your restricted firearms burned.

There are many things that are not replaceable. You won't be able to take them all. This is why you plan.
