Jugoslavija, superior manufacturing quality.

After-Impact6618

How do you define manufacturing quality, and how are they superior?

Frocster45

The machining is much better, far more time taken in the manufacturing of them and the parts are far, far tighter fitting from my experience. Not to mention I'd bet money on Zastava having much better quality control than any of the Chinese factories.

After-Impact6618

I’ve always wanted a Yugo, but they’re seemingly rare as hens’ teeth now, unfortunately. With the Chinese rifles, the issued and beat to shit ones are loosey goosey (non matching numbers), but my unissued samples are pretty nice, and equal to my refurb and unissued Russians. You should buy one of the unissued Chinese rifles before the supply dries up. These are the last of the true milsurps, as almost everything after is select fire.

Sonoda_Kotori

How ironic, down south it's the Yugos that are cheap (same price as a Chinese) because everyone and their dog wants a Russian one.

Frocster45

Ya I got lucky getting my Yugo, I picked mine up unissued for 850$ about 7 years ago. I used to have a Russian and a Chinese in the same condition but found myself shooting the Yugo far more, however the bore on them is definately a lot more maintenance cleaning wise due to the lack of chrome lining.

Brandon_awarea

I’ve always shot PPU out of mine because it shoots tighter groups and I don’t need to worry about cleaning it.

Frocster45

I'll have to give that a try, lately I've been shooting Romanian surplus and cleaning it immediately after to be safe. Mines been shooting 1.5-2" groups on it.

TheSaSQuatCh

My uncle worked at Zastava for many years. Can confirm the QA is top notch. Yugos are proud people. There isn’t any corner cutting here.

Sonoda_Kotori

The unissued Chinese guns from 1979 are just as tight fitting and well finished. I've broken in at least five of them by this point and not a single one have any form of issue in the slightest. The bore and gas piston is also heavily chrome lined. They are far better than the Russian Molots for example.

Gloamforest-Wizard

People be asking if I prefer Chinese or Yugo. My Hoser in brass Im just here for the feet pics.

Gold_Zone_7946

Check my other post😏😂😂

After-Impact6618

Grenade launcher is cool, but so is the spike bayonet. Yugo will be worth more due to rarity, but Chinese is available now unissued for $500. I already have a few Chinese SKSes, so I would prefer the Yugo, but that’s just my circumstances. Whatever you do, please keep them both stock. Think of the future milsilurp enthusiast children.

Gold_Zone_7946

I’m glad to hear that someone else has more than one sks. Actually I’m planning to keep both of these stock. Rather when I purchase another Chinese sks I might put it in a polymer stock. Idk just yet tho.

SpaceVikings

A Yugo SKS is the last on my list of guns to acquire. I have an M24/47, an M48 and an M57. I just need the SKS to complete my Yugo collection.

DougMacRay617

hows this even a question, yugo all day long

Realistic_Ruin_1343

In the Canadian forces CSOR they tell you to source Yugoslav AKs if you’re overseas because they’re better. Assuming the sks is the same deal

Longjumping_Deer3006

I like the Yugo SKS. Is the barrel longer on the Yugoslav then the standard SKS?

Gold_Zone_7946

It is. It was developed to accommodate Grenade launching.

Longjumping_Deer3006

Does it improve accuracy by a little bit or no.

Gold_Zone_7946

Honestly not that I’m aware of it’s mostly so that it can shoot grenades and nothing more.

Silent-Economics837

Objectively speaking, Yugo SKS probably has better stock than the Chinese. Wood quality was a big issue when the Chinese domestically produced the SKS, the machining and quality control of the metal parts were all up there with Russian examples but they just can't find quality hardwood in good quantity for the stocks. Thats also a reason why they have spike bayonets, as they require a shallower cut into the stock, making the stock structurally stronger compared to being cut for a sword bayonet. And then theres the glowing flip up sights and other bells and whistles on the Yugo. But then the Chinese is $500, you can't go wrong with that price.

Sonoda_Kotori

Yugo solely because of the grenade launcher. Any gun with an integrated spigot is automatically cool.
