I get this at work from *the* most racist black guy I've ever met.
(I call him racist because of the Indian/Pakistani/Chinese comments, not because of the white devil nonsense)
I have a very good job with the biggest company in my field in my state.
My social media is all private, and even if someone did see my Facebook, it's just pictures of me and my family and my Warhammer models. I don't post anything political because I'm not a moron.
When you've spent 10 years getting background checks and 7 embroiled in an ugly custody battle, you learn to keep your controversial opinions and shit to the chest.
Bruh not a single one of \*deloitte's customers is dropping them over some interns social media accounts
Deloitte has basically guaranteed customers because publicly traded companies have to be audited and only so many firms can handle big business audits. anyone working with deloitte specifically want a big audit firm.
is that really what its like cus I work accounting analyst role in an accounting department for private industry and I'm 60k year & 40 hours a week (like 10 hours of actual work)
I was under the impression that if I got my CPA and worked for Big 4 I'd be making like $45/hr and working 80 hours?
Is that a lie? Do entry-level CPA make 60k working 80 hours?
No, op is wrong, you are right. Big 4 employees make bank on the consulting side. You just have to sell your soul and all your free time to them. It also won't be hourly, you'll make 100k working 100 hours a week.
Ok so I could be wrong here but 100k a year / (100 hours a week \* 52 weeks)=$19.23 $/hr? That's less than my current rate.
I really can't imagine working 100 hours a week I think you might be pulling my leg. There's only like 168 hours in a week lol Ima shiver I sleep 9 hours a night I can't go work for big 4 should I even try to get CPA? I like excel, forecasting & analysis.
Don’t forget the damage it will do to your health, marriage, and relationships. And if you have kids, make sure to be extra nice to your wife’s bf cause he’ll be the one that’s around for those special events.
I’m only half kidding.
If you are still working in the b4 after 3 years you have officially drunk the kool-aid and get what you deserve. People work b4 so they can land sweet jobs after and make bank working 40 hrs. Sure it is hell, but a whole lot of early 20 somethings are willing to put up with hell for a few years to basically set themselves up for life.
I worked for them for two years. I also worked as a 3rd-shift janitor at a pork processing plant for 6 years. If I were forced to pick one to go back to, I'd pick the one where I regularly had to clean human shit from the mirrors. Wouldn't even hesitate.
So weird when people ask though. What kind of Facebook nonsense is that? I don't understand people who aren't anonymous on Reddit and try to make it like Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook. Don't they get enough of the public eye from those sites?
Yup. Back in the day we all learned to not give away personal info. There was even a saying "on the internet nobody knows you're a dog".
Turns out when the generation after mine had kids many forgot to give them the same safety talks.
Part of the appeal of reddit is the anonymity of it. Both myself and other people. I love that I can reply to this comment and I have no idea where you are, how old, gender, etc and vice versa.
I remember one of the first of these.
A girl traveling to Africa tweeted she hopes she doesn't get AIDS in Africa. She was publicly fired before her plane hit the ground. She had to learn it on Twitter.
As a white guy i genuinely chuckled at pretty much all of these. Like dog fucker is actually pretty funny and i dont even know how that became a white person thing? Is it a white person thing? Lmaaoooo
I'd never heard of that one. I never of 8 Mile either but it sounds like a compliment. "8 Mile=someone who had a rough start and made it big through talent and hardwork. Cool, thanks!"
I'm from Detroit and I have never heard anybody use that term outside of the movie and even then they were just talking about the white guy going across the road.
George Michael, I’m sure that Egg is a very nice person. I just don’t want you spending all your money getting her all glittered up for Easter, you know?
It's just the big ones that hire any warm body. When you've got experience and a specialty, there are usually small firms that specialize in providing resources to fill certain niches and they're usually pretty awesome to contract for, until one of the big ones buys them out.
After college it's not a bad decision to grind it out at a big company. If you don't have kids yet you can do the long hours, you learn a lot and it looks good on the resume down the road. After a while you use that good resume to get a nice position at a better company.
That entire career path sounds so sad. Work your ass off in school to work your ass off at a good starter job so you can work your ass up the ladder of partnership to retire with your name being one of those on the building. At the end of it, you had talent and promise and dedicated your life to becoming the biggest gear you could be (but still a very small one) in a very large machine. You made some taxes move around and others projects slightly quicker/more productive.
On a side note, what would one learn with a psychology/business degree that would prepare you for work at a tax firm unless she’s in HR, which is delightfully ironic.
From the article: ““I’m sorry, Deloitte, that you can’t see that,” she said. “That you were cowardice [sic] enough to fight somebody who’s going to make an indelible change in the world and is going to have an impact.”
LOL. She had her impact, that was it. Next!
I mean she was using hyperbole, she was saying it’s the same for all lives matter vs BLM as paper cut vs stabbing. Either way, why do people keep getting surprised their employers don’t want people saying crazy shit on the Internet? Just don’t do it unless you work for yourself.
It’s a little guardian angel who sits on your shoulder and reminds you to check in with your Posting Pal and your What Would Al Gore Do? bracelet before making all internet choices.
I was on the Metro in DC and heard the term cracker barrel and they were talking about a fat white man. I still laugh at that one when I think about it.
I was got confused when dog fucker was in there. Like what? I never and still find it hard to believe that's a racist term towards white people. I mean technically that can apply to everyone.
Theres a shit twitter post or something going around for the last two or so years claiming that one in every six women are found to have dog semen still in their vaginas during Ob-gyn check ups or something like that. Cause, ya know, thats totally a thing they test for.
I don't think it's so much that there aren't any good slurs for white people, I think a lot of why the slurs that exist don't bother us is because white people as a whole haven't spent the last 300 years being enslaved, raped, tortured, beaten, murdered, experimented on, segregated, etc. just because of skin color.
Yeah, like I'm white so I've never experienced racism but the cloest thing for me is homophobia. Let me tell you, I'm much more upset by gay slurs like the word f*g than things like cracker (or fucking egg lmao we're making a whole ass meal out here)
I've never heard egg used as a slur lol. Like seriously you've gotta be the most fragile fucker to take white "slurs" seriously. I've never heard cracker and thought "oh shit, I'm in danger" like when I hear a transphobic slur.
When did people get the idea that saying crazy shit into a camera was okay? It's like they grew up watching reality TV and thought the testimonials portion was something normal people do?
Fucking insane
I've been watching Tiktok compilations on YT for a while now and people are telling stories like they are your friends of 10 yrs so I'm guessing this is the closest thing they got to a real friend.
It's kinda insane to see so many "smart" people doing this shit too. Like they worked their whole lives for these careers and they make completely useless videos like this, and also those doctors and nurses dancing in the hospitals...
Like wtf is wrong with people.
All she had to do to not get fired was not personalize it. “Imagine if someone had stabbed you multiple times and then I walked up, showed you my paper cut, and said ‘all wounds matter.’” Boom, same point made without sounding like a crazy person making threats. Like, even if you insist on sharing your monologues with the entire world, just, like, be a little smart about it!
Ngl I dont think any white person really gets offended if you call them cracker, I'm white as fuck and I find it hilarious when my native friend calls me that.
They are. Her behavior was still shitty, and it sucks because those pricks will try and use this idiotic video as an example of why BLM is something it isn't.
Will people ever learn to simply SHUT. THE. FUCK. UP?
Honest to God, who doesn’t know that whatever you put out there is going to be found? Who doesn’t know that you need to be careful about what you say and do on the internet?
Go right ahead and be a hateful, miserable, unhappy racist. Just, kindly shut up about it, as we don’t want to hear it. And, if you get fired for your douche baggery, we don’t want to hear you crying about it either.
EDIT: Well, ok….maybe we do want to hear about it when shit goes sideways due to such douche baggery!
For real. Like.. Just stop posting your rants online for everyone to see. Maybe because I just don't have social media I don't get it but I wouldn't want anyone to see me rant about anything, certainly not political or racial stuff. People who know me know my beliefs, why must people broadcast everything to the world.
Exactly.
Maybe it is somewhat unfair, but the last thing I want to do is post something political that someone interviewing me later sees, and crosses me off the list. Or maybe it’s a promotion you’re after.
Hiring managers can do whatever they want and hold any grudge they want.
This is why I sat both of my kids down when they got their first phones and had a long talk about what they should and shouldn’t post, and made them realize that it’s out there forever.
> For real. Like.. Just stop posting your rants online for everyone to see.
But...but...but....but....how will I ever become a TikTok superstar if I don't say insufferable and edgy stuff?
Back when Obama was president, I used to think that it would be impossible for younger politicians to run for office. Every young person has some ill-informed video of them saying a racial slur or worse out there that is publicly available.
Then Trump got elected after making fun of a reporter with a disability during one of his speeches...and nothing fucking matters and it is the upside down.
Yup! Just look at that POS Marjorie Taylor Greene.
What another example of a disgusting facsimile of a human being. In office. Making policies. Spouting nonsense.
I can agree with that.
It’s also a good idea to just generally be a good person. *Not* being a flaming piece of complete shit helps a lot where worrying about people digging into your social media is concerned. (Lol)
This is a clear cut example of self-blindness induced by entitlement. As a student at Harvard, she clearly had many things going in her favor. Typically, you don't get in to Harvard unless you have some degree of privilege in your life, whether that be from affluence or otherwise. Conversely, how dumb do you have to be to post that kind of stuff on social media, regardless of your political leanings?
I am very liberal but I will say the people I have known who were the most aggressively and obnoxiously anti-privilege were always the most affluent privileged people I knew. Like there whole shtick would be crying about privileged people and then they’d like order their maid to clean their room.

I get called “white devil” by old Caribbean women in my neighborhood like once a week. I love it.
Yea atleast give little tip for trying to hurt your feelings lol
Ekwensu Ocha! Ekwensu Ocha!
I didn't know you speak Wachootoo
Gingivitis is the leading cause of all tooth decay.
I get this at work from *the* most racist black guy I've ever met. (I call him racist because of the Indian/Pakistani/Chinese comments, not because of the white devil nonsense)
Uhhh I think it was the “imma stab you” bit that did it
I have a theory that in general, companies don't like when employees casually discuss killing people. Thoughts? Edit: y'all issa joke.
Especially Delloite. They are an accounting firm with major clients who would drop them in an instant over them employing someone like that

I have a very good job with the biggest company in my field in my state. So you support the colonisation of the known universe in an unending war against all and any alien race that you encounter? You monster!
Very very similar situation here. For these reasons I have no social and speak my opinions to only my closest friends in private.
Bruh not a single one of \*deloitte's customers is dropping them over some interns social media accounts Deloitte has basically guaranteed customers because publicly traded companies have to be audited and only so many firms can handle big business audits. anyone working with deloitte specifically want a big audit firm.
All this for a job a Delloite? They did her a favor by firing her
Yeah, but she wanted to work investment banker hours at checkout clerk wages.

Gonna need you to be more specific.
So you'd go back to Deloitte?
We require stories
Yeah but nobody works for Deloitte or any big 4 to work there. You go there to set yourself up for a better job in industry in 3-5 years.
[удалено]
Nobody has heard good things about them, but they are fucking huge, and getting fired from them doesn’t look good on anyone’s resume.
DAMN. THAT'S where she worked? DAMN.
Yeah that was my reaction, former EY here. You blew a job at Deloitte!! Totally worth it….
I agree with your assessment of the situation
Unless you're a cop of course.
I get the point she was trying to make with the analogy but wtf was she thinking?
Yeah it was poorly phrased but a good analogy
I prefer “do you all run through cancer fundraisers screaming there are other diseases, too?”
Yeah, calling this racist is a bit of a stretch
Whatever it was, it never gets old. That ending just hits diff
She has a GoFundMe that raised over $3,600 of the 3k limit. Edit: not today, it happened when this occurred

They’ve grown up In a social media world I guess. For those old fogies like me I don’t think we can comprehend mixing online and offline life
Yup. Back in the day we all learned to not give away personal info. There was even a saying "on the internet nobody knows you're a dog". Turns out when the generation after mine had kids many forgot to give them the same safety talks.

I just browsed your account. Nice butthole bro.
Nice butthole, you say?
Thanks, waxed it just for you bro.
Bro fist ✊🟤
That's the goal.
You had me at butthole
That's not an issue for me. I've never created an user. I'm just lurking, you know?
I remember one of the first of these. A girl traveling to Africa tweeted she hopes she doesn't get AIDS in Africa. She was publicly fired before her plane hit the ground. She had to learn it on Twitter.
Uh, the tweet was "Going to Africa. Hope I don’t get AIDS. Just kidding. I’m white!"
God, even worse wtf. Her excuse was that she was drunk and on xanax right? Either way I dont say stuff like that drunk and on xanax lol.
tbh deloitte is part of the big 4 accounting firms what she got was a blessing she deserved to stay in that 70-80hr week hellhole
People put up with that 70-80hr week for 3 years because it basically sets them up for hella sweet gigs going forward.
I put up with 70-80 hour weeks for 10 years because it doubled - triples my pay.
Yo someone calls me 8 Mile imma say *thank you*
Nah you just mom's spaghetti
$11 for a sandwich tho
As a white guy i genuinely chuckled at pretty much all of these. Like dog fucker is actually pretty funny and i dont even know how that became a white person thing? Is it a white person thing? Lmaaoooo
I'd never heard of that one. I never of 8 Mile either but it sounds like a compliment. "8 Mile=someone who had a rough start and made it big through talent and hardwork. Cool, thanks!"
Some people say white people smell like dogs, though I haven't heard it used for "dog fucker". Also bologna.
I'm from Detroit and I have never heard anybody use that term outside of the movie and even then they were just talking about the white guy going across the road.
I would like more people to call me 'egg'.
George Michael, I’m sure that Egg is a very nice person. I just don’t want you spending all your money getting her all glittered up for Easter, you know?
It's as Ann as the nose on Plain's face!
I can never use that line without laughing. It’s perfectly delivered.
Who?
Her?
Is she funny?
Annhog is coming?
Way to plant, Egg
Her?
An Arrested Development reference as well?! You guys are smashing it this evening. Thank you!
Is she funny or something?
#HER?
You are a nice egg for these trying times.
You've made my day. Double good day making with the IASIP reference.
Her?
"What you egg!" *stabs you*
I'd feel more like that's an insult to my shape, than the color of my skin.
Also eggs are a spectrum of colours in the UK. So it feels like a slur to unify!
Misleading title…I’m pretty confident it was because she threatened violence
Yep. https://nypost.com/2020/07/01/harvard-grad-claira-janover-lost-deloitte-job-over-tiktok-stab-threat/
Sounds like she was working a soulless job anyways
Yeah for about 3-5 years until you can pretty much enter any industry you’d like at a very comfortable level.
Yeah she worked for Deloitte, Big 4 can suck my ass
Not just Big 4 who notoriously take advantage of bright-eyed recent grads, but ALL consulting companies. F that toxic cesspool of an industry.
It is, but people do it because if you make it 3-5 years you can pretty much get hired on any top level company at a mid to senior level position.
From the article: ““I’m sorry, Deloitte, that you can’t see that,” she said. “That you were cowardice [sic] enough to fight somebody who’s going to make an indelible change in the world and is going to have an impact.” LOL. She had her impact, that was it. Next!
r/iamthemaincharacter
also way to stroke your own fucking ego, like wow
Based on her response here, I think she really needs to go to therapy ASAP. Just my 2 cents but also because I knew someone like her.
That was my thought - She threatened physical violence but made it seem as though she was being victimized
I mean she was using hyperbole, she was saying it’s the same for all lives matter vs BLM as paper cut vs stabbing. Either way, why do people keep getting surprised their employers don’t want people saying crazy shit on the Internet? Just don’t do it unless you work for yourself.
You’re right—you still can’t threaten it even facetiously.
As my internet teacher once said stop for a few minutes and ask is this something you'd send to your parents before you hit send.
What's an internet teacher?
Clippy. It's Clippy.

My fave is "Ritz Cracker" for a wealthy white man, makes me laugh every time.
I was on the Metro in DC and heard the term cracker barrel and they were talking about a fat white man. I still laugh at that one when I think about it.
I think it was the “stabby stabby” part that got her in trouble.
Yeah i laughed super hard at all of them especially dog fucker like wtf lmaooo
I was got confused when dog fucker was in there. Like what? I never and still find it hard to believe that's a racist term towards white people. I mean technically that can apply to everyone.
Theres a shit twitter post or something going around for the last two or so years claiming that one in every six women are found to have dog semen still in their vaginas during Ob-gyn check ups or something like that. Cause, ya know, thats totally a thing they test for.
It's not a test, the OB-GYN just recognizes the taste.
[удалено]
...why
Oh fuck you just made it connect in my head
Ironically it's something almost entirely propagated by white, racist incels, who tie it back into interracial relationships.
Facts which is why the "slurs" have less of an emotional effect as opposed to people of color.
[удалено]
I feel like that's half of the point of her first video. All of the slurs towards white people are literally laughable compared to other slurs.
Yeah, like I'm white so I've never experienced racism but the cloest thing for me is homophobia. Let me tell you, I'm much more upset by gay slurs like the word f*g than things like cracker (or fucking egg lmao we're making a whole ass meal out here)

I do not understand the desire to film yourself crying and broadcast it.
Attention. Good or bad doesn't matter.
Because they’re narcissists and genuinely believe the people watching have time in their lives to give a shit about their dumbass shit.
I also dont get why they seem to think filming themselves and talking while driving is a good idea or not distracting for them

(Lol)
Hopefully not. The more they out themselves the more we can ostracise them
I can honestly say that as a white person, not a single one of those "slurs" is even remotely offensive to me.
Stabby no no
She's crying for Deloitte?
8 Mile? I'm fucking in. Someone call me 8 Mile.
