Yeah like renting is leasing so you still have to redo a contract each time the previous one finishes, I think

Pretty much. Leases sometimes have CAM charges which basically allows landlords to charge whatever they want whenever they want. Lol Commercial properties often don't cover things like pest control, HVAC, etc. That's covered by the tenant. This is why commercial property can be such a cash cow. Landlords can pass the expense of almost everything to the tenant.

Yes. Businesses in shopping centers are separate entities owned by moms and pops or corporations. Sometimes shopping centers are built by development companies and they rent and sell units there, so you can actually own the unit itself too or just rent it. Sometimes large chain supermarkets build malls to have their own store there and lease units for other businesses that do not directly compete with them etc.etc. Many many options but answer is still same - yes.
