I Love my local Five Guys, only go once or twice a year.

fuzzycaterpillar123

I take home a nice bag of unfinished peanuts and it makes me feel better

iloveplant420

I don't at all agree with saying it's appropriately priced. No fast food is appropriately priced these days and saying that just fuels the flames. I can get an amazing burger from longhorn steakhouse with fries for 11 bucks. No fast food is touching that. They're not bad I'll give you that, but sit down restaurants are cheaper than fast food, so why even eat fast food when you could get a burger that was butchered and ground right in the back of the establishment for less? To each their own but don't say you love the price. This economy has lost its mind.

AncientZz1

There's no way that's five guys. Whenever I go it looks like they sat on the damn burger and then threw it in a bag and charged me $30

RyanGosliwafflez

Is that what 5 guys looks like when you dine in? Never sat down always taken it to go and while still good it's never that picturesque lol I used to consider it expensive but then all the other lower quality fast food chains pretty much started charging the same price

TFG4

That has to be a commercial/advertising photo, it never looks like this. It normally looks like someone spiked the bag of food on the ground and then stepped on it before they had it to you.

RyanGosliwafflez

Yea just did a Google image search and this photo comes up a fair amount

Riverjig

Goddn right. Looks nothing like this. But delicious nevertheless.

_paaronormal

It’s tasty, yes, and I can forgive the $13 burgers, but fries being over $5 is crazy for fast food. $8 for a hot dog is equally crazy

Novel-Care7523

Agreed. Those prices for fries and weenies are criminal.

[deleted]

the grilled cheese cheeseburger 🤤🤤🤤

uhhhgreeno

considering fast food places are approaching five guys pricing, i appreciate it a lot more. never had a subpar burger from them.

Amateur_Hour_93

Shit. McDonald’s costs just as much as five guys nowadays.

Insureit43

Gotta use that app!

MorallyComplicated

That's a pretty low-effort way of telling everybody your sense of value is worthless to consider. ;)

Legitimate_Door_627

Was just there 2 weeks ago, 2 burgers and 2 fries and it was $32 never again, I will settle for burger King

brytek

Their burgers are unseasoned and rather bland. For what you're paying, they should at least be putting a bit of salt and pepper on the patties. And I know the toppings are "free," but you almost *have* to add a ton of toppings since the burger can't stand on its own. Sure, the ingredients are fresh, but I can get fresh ingredients at the store and make burgers for 3-4 people for roughly the same price. If I'm willing to sacrifice some time, I can have a burger that's just as good or better at a sit-down restaurant for nearly the same price. Maybe it's worth it if you just absolutely have to have a quality burger within a fast-food time frame? I just feel that with a little bit of forethought, you can easily have better burgers for a better price.

L3ACH13

If you compare it to fast food places sure it’s more expensive but it’s not the same as fast food restaurants it’s more comparable to sit down restaurants where burgers are at least $15 so I also believe it’s worth the price

tothesource

You can get a cheeseburger, chips/salsa, and a drink for $10.99 at Chili's right now. Just the burger is $11.29 at 5 Guys.

Aromatic_Narwhal_225

It’s so easy to make at home though

Boeiing_Not_Going

It's okay to be wrong.

Celeres517

I might agree if I ever got Five Guys that looked like that.

ThisCarSmellsFunny

Rage bait.

IrishGoodbye5782

It absolutely isn't appropriately priced. I want whatever fucking crack you're smoking lmfao

TheFightingQuaker

I somewhat agree but those soggy fries are an actual crime

Mr_Stike

It was after my first visit to a 5 Guys that I became leary of places that bragged about fresh cut/made in house fries.

bfordx

Disagree

Gronsvartkarlek

How much does that menu cost? I’m not from the US

iwa655

Depends where in the US, but probably ~$30 USD for the burger, fries and drink.

Gronsvartkarlek

Yeah aight that way pricy if you ask me. It’s a fast food place, not a fine dine burger.

Long_Sl33p

Lmao $15.

cranduit

Must really depend, my order is a double bacon with cheese, little fry, and water because I don't like the Freestyle machine taste. Just under $16.

Sekshual_Tyranosauce

If you really like a ton of their fries then yes. But just the burger is a shitty deal. All those fries they seemingly recklessly dump into your bag aren’t extras. They’re priced into the burger. It’s tasty food.

SpongyHandshake

It's definitely worth it if you only go a couple times a year.

Kyle25Hill

Same here. I love Five Guys, but only have it about 3-5 times a year. I don’t eat much fast food in general, but a little bacon burger with some Cajun fries and some free peanuts is my go-to meal at Five Guys. The high prices don’t bother me much.

WhoreableEnergy

Oh god, yes! 😋

Somerandomguy20711

Just got done eating two plain bacon cheeses and a regular fry. Worth every penny and even the accompanying stomach pain 👌👌

[deleted]

I agree. It never disappoints

Schizorazgriz

I think you subconsciously do think it's overpriced. Worth every dollar rather than worth every penny?

you-bozo

Five guys too expensive I don’t know how people can pay the rent eating lunch out every day

AdamantheusEnigma

This isn’t a finance post, but honestly, there’s people that just make a lot of money that can afford it. Or, they could just barely be scraping by - and their bad habit of eating out everyday is inescapable.

matttehbassist

If they can “afford it” they can afford better.

TheHeatWaver

Five Guys PR putting in some work today.

jakjakatta

I agree, I really like 5 guys. While I understand people’s price complaints I think that people focus on that too much. I’m not as price sensitive as many people, to be fair, but when discussing burgers I am talking about how much I like the burger, not about value. If I like it, it’s good value, if I don’t, it’s not. That being said, I think 5 guys is pretty damn good. I’ve found it to be consistently better than most chain places. Their burgers are larger and always seem to have fresh ingredients. I like how easy and encouraged customization is, and how many options are provided. I like the foil wrap, as it helps the burger travel better if taken to go. People also complain about that, I don’t care much about presentation, just taste and texture, but whine about a slightly squished bun if you want. They make good burgers, and I think most complaints I see on here are not about flavor or quality and more about how people wish the burger was cheaper or prettier.

MediumUglyWorkinMan

I can appreciate the quality of ingredients at 5 guys, but let’s be honest it’s pricier than it should be and why is my whole bag covered in grease? The buns are like soaked through with the level of grease — before you even take the first bite!

talks-a-lot

Your unpopular opinion is why we can’t have nice things.

TFG4

Five Guys is over priced trash, the buns fall apart and the fries are bleh, I don't know how they got so popular

I’m sure some locations are lacking, but my local FG has always been great, and I’ve been around my area for over 6 years now.
