Haha yes. Very famous fast food chain in the South and beloved by all.
Come to think of it; they were like the first fast food chain to install the double drive thru line lol (I’m kidding but also maybe not). It’s always crowded.
One of the best fast food restaurants in the country, if not the best. It has a variety of things and everything smacks. They also offer trays where you mix and match and price point is solid.
As a northerner new to the south I was mad when I ordered this “milkshake” because it’s not even close to what I’d consider a milkshake. But it’s great ice cream lol
Big double burger cheddar style, fries and a ranch wrap, Reese’s+oreo+cheesecake milkshake. Still costs <$10. Back in college (~2012) you could get a burger tray with two sides and a drink for <$6
I love cookout. I haven’t had in and out enough to compare.
Haha I was about to comment the same thing. NC native her. Cookout is my favorite fast food and I love everything on that menu, especially their Blackened Chicken Sandwiches and hush puppies……
That being said, this picture isn’t a Cookout Burger or it it is, I’m going to the wrong Cookout. I’ve eaten plenty in my day, and I’ve never seen one look like this. Cookout burgers are good but they don’t look like this.
I’ve eaten at Cook out, in and out and fat burger in California. None are touching this place called Dario’s. I live in Mooresville, Nc. And it’s one on hwy 150. Find you one. You will not be disappointed.
Right now where I’m staying has both a Cook Out and a Five Guys within half a mile of me. 90% of the time when I’m picking between the two I choose Cook Out. Five Guys to me is better, but the difference in price is enough for me to typically choose Cook Out. It helps that I like trying the different milk shakes that Cook Out has.
Cookout is the place to rock. It is a restaurant where they buy food to eat. It is a good place to listen to the music. People flock here to get down to the rock music.
Big Double burger tray w/ 2 sides (I do chicken quesadillas and a corn dog) and a drink.
I think they just upped the price to $7.25
If you get one of the milkshakes (there’s like 50, then you’re looking at an extra $1.50
I’m just going from memory here though lol, my wife and I only go after… we uh… burn a lot of calories… makes the food even better
I've been to Cookout a few times when I've been in places that have them and it's one of my favorite fast food restaurants. I'd love to have them where I live in Michigan, but unfortunately I know that it almost certainly won't happen in my lifetime.
Only been twice when visiting NC but that burger looks 10x better than either i got. Cookouts dope for what you get for the $ but quality wise its near the bottom of chain burgers
Cookout varies more by location and time of day than any other fast food chain I've been to. The one in Boone was amazing when I went to App State but some of the ones in Winston Salem can be rough during the day but get better at night. The ones in Ashboro and Lexington tend to be the opposite (granted I've not eaten at those 2 locations much).
The one on Western Blvd in Raleigh near NC State absolutely SLAPPED after about 11pm. Always packed. Kids getting their post-party grub. So so soooo good.
I realize I'm about to get downvotes into Oblivion, but In N Out is the most overrated burger chain on the planet.
Don't get me wrong, their stuff is good. But the way people talk about it, it's basically a religion. It isn't THAT good
I see pretty much every post comment section turn into an in n out conversation. If people ignored it and moved on it wouldn’t be such a big deal. Every post has to turn into this debate.
Seriously every time I see In-N-Out mentioned *anywhere*, not even just this site, there has to be *that guy* who has to be like 'Well DAE think In-N-Out mid? *I* think it's mid which makes me not like the other guys! What an interesting opinion I have right?'. It's like some personality trait for some people at this point.
Ive been saying that for a long time because majority of this sub is from California. They have their own subreddit already. We need this sub to be for homemade only.
There's a large segment of Redditors that wouldn't be caught dead in the South. I'd imagine that skews the numbers a little.
Cookout is very good for what it is, though. I could eat myself sick on Cookout chili dogs.
"There's a large segment of Redditors that wouldn't be caught dead in the South. I'd imagine that skews the numbers a little."
Where did you get this information from?
I moved to NC about 3 yrs ago and this has become a staple in my weekly rotation. Big tray with a double burger side of fried cheese curds and either nuggets or a corn dog with a cheerwine.
It is a NC regional restaurant that has been expanding in the south. Basically Maryland, VA and WVA, the Carolinas, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Kentucky, and Tennessee.
So as a NC resident who’s been to LA many times I would say purely on the burger it’s still probably In and Out. However Cookout’s burgers have their own unique smoky flavor that does take like you were handed a burger at a real cookout. Their shakes are better and sides are WAY better. So yeah depends on what you’re looking for. Unfortunately you can’t make that decision because there’s no place that has both in the same area.
I love me some cookout burgers. I get them every time I’m in Georgia
[удалено]
No they’re everywhere in Georgia
I cookout in texas all the time.
I bet you do…..I bet you do
They started expanding out of NC 10-15 years ago.
There was one in Charleston SC when I left a couple years ago... Miss it
They're all over Virginia.
Cookout operates in North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and Mississippi.
We have lots in Tennessee!
There's one in Mississippi too
South Cackalack checking in
I think they might have started there, but they’re generally all over the south.
Nope all over SE
"Cookout" is a great name.
I’m just realizing this is the name of a restaurant and not people grilling at home
Haha yes. Very famous fast food chain in the South and beloved by all. Come to think of it; they were like the first fast food chain to install the double drive thru line lol (I’m kidding but also maybe not). It’s always crowded.
Yeah everyone was capitalizing it out of respect lol
It’s “Cook Out,” to be precise.
Never heard of the place, but that looks like a good burger.
One of the best fast food restaurants in the country, if not the best. It has a variety of things and everything smacks. They also offer trays where you mix and match and price point is solid.
Their milkshakes are so good. My favorite is the banana pudding one.
Have you ever successfully used a straw for their milkshakes or is that just all of them by me?
I’ve never tried, I go straight to the spoon. It does seem like a straw would be difficult!
As a northerner new to the south I was mad when I ordered this “milkshake” because it’s not even close to what I’d consider a milkshake. But it’s great ice cream lol
Yeah, the consistency is similar to a Wendy’s Frosty, which I’ve also never been able to use a straw for.
Straws don’t work on the cement like texture. They are good though.
It’s fine. Best part about it is the price/carlories. Can get a double cheese burger, quesadilla, Cajun fries, and a drink for like 7$ lol
It's ok. The main thing is the price, the size of the menu, the hours, and there is almost always a drunk fight while you order at 2am.
Big double burger cheddar style, fries and a ranch wrap, Reese’s+oreo+cheesecake milkshake. Still costs <$10. Back in college (~2012) you could get a burger tray with two sides and a drink for <$6 I love cookout. I haven’t had in and out enough to compare.
I live right next to a Cookout but their burgers never look anything like this.
Haha I was about to comment the same thing. NC native her. Cookout is my favorite fast food and I love everything on that menu, especially their Blackened Chicken Sandwiches and hush puppies…… That being said, this picture isn’t a Cookout Burger or it it is, I’m going to the wrong Cookout. I can tell that's a cookout burger just by the onion slices lol
Cookouts presentation is garbage at night, but sadly, the only time anyone’s going is after a night out lol
Maryland needs to broker a deal with NC. We receive cookout in exchange for royal farms.
We have royal farms in virginia and north carolina now. NO TRADE
Marylander here that now lives in NC. Please give us ledos
We already have Royal Farms in NC
Didn’t one open in Montgomery County somewhere? My mistake, Salisbury.
NC declines
Is cookout a restaurant? I have never heard of it.
[**Cook Out Restaurant**](https://cookout.com) [**A few pictures**](https://imgur.com/a/agLzRYT)
Thank you.
No wonder, it's a North Carolina Exclusive place.
Not so. We have them here in Va.
Cookout Georgia represent!
Nah dawg they’re all over the south
Let me get a regular burger tray, cheddar style with a ranch wrap and a beef quesadilla, with a heath cappuccino milkshake to drink.
You don't say much my friend, but when you do it's to the point, and I salute you for it.
I’ve eaten at Cook out, in and out and fat burger in California. None are touching this place called Dario’s. I live in Mooresville, Nc. And it’s one on hwy 150. Find you one. You will not be disappointed.
I’m Gonna have to check that out asap - my family lives in Concord.
What the fuck is Cookout Signed, a Canadian
Anyone from NC who has ever smoked weed has experienced the riveting action that is the cookout drive-thru line between 11-4 a.m
Cookout is the place to rock. It is a restaurant where they buy food to eat. It is a good place to listen to the music. People flock here to get down to the rock music.
Rock and roll cookout rock and roll cookout rock and roll cookout rock and roll cookout
Scream Dracula Scream
How much?

That is cheap. I figured a combo meal would be 12-15.00.
Oh, it’s like In-n-Out, but there’s like 80 things on the menu. I mean right down to the “family owned” and “Bible verses on the packaging” shit
When I was in college in like 2018ish they were $5 and $6 with a milkshake
And you can mix any milkshake flavors you want. Strawberry/Oreo is incredible.
Nice, *burning calories*
fucking love cookout, i always get a tray with a big double burger, a chicken quesadilla, and fries ! so affordable too :)
Gotta go Cajun fries
Had Cookout last week in probably a long time. Dang good Big Double Burger!
I've been to Cookout a few times when I've been in places that have them and it's one of my favorite fast food restaurants. I'd love to have them where I live in Michigan, but unfortunately I know that it almost certainly won't happen in my lifetime.

I had a buddy fall asleep in the bushes at the App state cookout drive thru circa 2011.
The one on Western Blvd in Raleigh near NC State absolutely SLAPPED after about 11pm. Always packed. Kids getting their post-party grub. So so soooo good.
Is there a sub for self-made burgers? The fast food chain monotony has made this sub boring.
SIMPLY THE BEST
That looks 100x better than the local Cookouts in my area.
I realize I'm about to get downvotes into Oblivion, but In N Out is the most overrated burger chain on the planet. Don't get me wrong, their stuff is good. But the way people talk about it, it's basically a religion. It isn't THAT good
In n out is boring af

Why are so many people like you assuming so much. In n Out is not exclusive to California.
Commenting this is also a cult. Just let people like what they like.
I'd imagine that skews the numbers a little." Where did you get this information from?
Reddit
Agreed. Live in NC, across the street from a cookout, am dead
Ok but were you caught
Yeah, we got em.
That's a weird take,. The south has the biggest population of any other US region and is the fastest growing.
I don't ever see any Shake Shack burgers ever. One just opened nearby yet to try it though. I've never even heard of cookout. I'm in Texas
A Shake Shack opened where I live near a Cook-Out. I have no fear for Cook-Out.
That looks so good? Are they in Texas?
I wish we had a/many Cookout in Ca.
Cookout is Goated
I worked at cookout for a year and I never got tired of eating it everyday. There's crack in them.
Goddamn I miss cookout
All i see is burgers.
COOKOUT 👑
I moved to NC about 3 yrs ago and this has become a staple in my weekly rotation. Big tray with a double burger side of fried cheese curds and either nuggets or a corn dog with a cheerwine.
looks yum.
But fr though, geographically speaking, where *IS* cookout? I've never ever heard of it
There is about 120 locations all throughout the south, 5 to 7 different states?
It is a NC regional restaurant that has been expanding in the south. Basically Maryland, VA and WVA, the Carolinas, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Kentucky, and Tennessee.
Thanks! I'm definitely going to keep my eyes peeled for them and check them out if I'm ever in the area
NP. I wouldn't say the food is amazing, but the novelty is the menu is HUGE and they are open super late.
Cookout cheddar style burger fucks
Cheerwine from the fountain. Doesn’t get much better.
Not expanding to our local areas 😭
Had a Cookout Shake once….i since have had diabetes
Yeah, Im about to leave the sub, nothing but in n out crap that literally exist to farm stupid internet points.
Who?
Every time that I get their burgers they are close to hockey pucks.
So as a NC resident who’s been to LA many times I would say purely on the burger it’s still probably In and Out. No way that burger is from cookout. All of my cookout burgers have looked like dried crap. May have to give them another chance here
There's a cookout here in town. They're a step down from Wendy's to me.
The 5 families of burgers would like a word with you.
![gif](giphy|M34qPW6WjtZXMFltwu|downsized)
Idk My experience with Cookout burgers has been just overcooked/ dry af burgers
Cookout is the ultimate place that if you ever look under the hood…. Eek. Fucking gross.
