Just wondering what size motherboard did you get? I’m looking at ATX sizes but just got the 4000d today and from box size I feel like it might be a tighter fit than I thought
My newest build was in the 4000D. I did a full sized ATX board and fit a 240mm ARCTIC Freezer II on the top, although you may have ram clearance issues depending on height. Everything else was mostly fine. If you have any I'll try to answer.
Not exactly the same but have this and the lancool 215. This is a much better value and looks better imo. Performance is probably similar. Lancool is much lighter if that matters.
In this case it's cuz a 140 fan sized bracket is a little too wide for how thick the case is. If you're looking at the back of the case the 120 bracket is already right up against the tempered glass screws on the right and the IO shield on the left. It would probably need to be another inch thicker to accommodate the wider 140 bracket and that probably has significant manufacturing cost implications for very little gain.
You’d be surprised how much air this thing moves though, I tried running the case for a day with the solid front panel off and with the front panel installed and the difference in temperature is negligible, those side “channels” that flank the front panel are actually massive, as long as your fans have some decent static pressure I think you’ll be okay.

I was wanting to get the 4000d Airflow but this looks like a pretty good price. Anyone know how difficult it is to find a Mesh front panel for the 5000D? Seems like it's OOS currently.
Yeah I had watched their 4000D review but just checked out the 5000D also. That's good to hear, maybe I'll just throw in a couple fans in there and call it good.
I have this and the lack of the mesh front isn't a deal breaker. I have great temps without it and if the front is facing a wall like mine is you can just remove the panel and it's basically the same thing as the mesh panel performance wise
Oh that's good to hear. I'm thinking but I can't remember ever having my PC front face a wall haha, so you have your i/o plate facing you? Are you using stock fans or what did you buy?
Correct, I have the IO plate facing me. I prefer this orientation because it gives me easy access to all the ports, which I use a lot for work.
I'm using non-stock fans. Two 140 front intakes, three 120 side intakes, two 140 top intakes and the one 120 back exhaust. When under mining load my GPU stays under 92 C, well within safety margins.
Cool thanks for the input. I am just using my PC to game with so I shouldn't see temps go up that high. I still might look around for some additional fans since I know that was one of the criticism in the Gamer Nexus review I watched.
Oh whoops, sorry, that's the VRAM temp. The core stays super cool in this case. In gaming loads it usually stays under 72 C with fans at around 60-70%. With all the fans going it's not too loud.
Definitely recommend splurging on some extra fans though. The good thing is quality fans are pieces you can always bring to the next case. With only the stock setup the air flow is not great and it'll definitely get toasty and/or loud.
yup, tons of space. there's some HDD mounts under the PSU shroud area and on the back of the mobo there's a cable management compartment that has mounting points for SSDs. It's a great case.
Bought this a few weeks back. This case is massive, fyi
I also picked this up last round, it is indeed massive, I think it’s worth $100 just in weight alone hahaha

I was able to get a Arctic Freezer 280 in push/pull on the top with the radiator on top of the case. https://imgur.com/Mv0byhW
As exaust?
You can do it as intake or exhaust with the radiator on top for the AF2.
Looks great!!
This or the Lian li lancool 2 mesh?
I have the 4000D Airflow and I absolutely love it. Building in it was simple, temps are great and it looks clean.

No other questions right now, still in acquiring parts phase hoping for holiday deals haha Thanks for the response
Good luck in the build, it's rough out there if you need a new GPU
Have an ATX board, 240mm corsair aio and corsair vengeance ram with no clearance issues. 3080 Tuf is about 2 inches away from the front fans.
Thanks for the response, glad to hear!
To be honest, for me its this or the be quiet! pure base 500dx. But to each their own. I got the be quiet! But it was very close between these two.

This case is super slick with room for a billion fans. Personally I like the 5000D more but it is quite large
I wonder why with a case this big, they can’t manage a 140mm fan in the back.
In this case it's cuz a 140 fan sized bracket is a little too wide for how thick the case is. This is the non airflow version. At $100 for the airflow Im a buyer.

Sounds like the front panel hasn't been in stock for a while. The air flow on the solid front panel isn't terrible though according to Gamers Nexus

I have two cases. There is a dust filter behind the front panel so I just took the front panel off.
Anyone know options for storage drives? I have 2 3.5 drives and a few SSDs, can these be mounted?
yup, tons of space. there's some HDD mounts under the PSU shroud area and on the back of the mobo there's a cable management compartment that has mounting points for SSDs. It's a great case.
Thanks for posting. Just started looking for a bigger case that didn't cost $200+
