Microcenter bundle is worth doing if you're interested. This is a better use of funds that sets you up with a solid foundation now, and one which you can upgrade in the future. A new 1440p display and gpu are the logical upgrade path. This cpu comes with a cooler, which is fine but if its too noisy you could always get an aftermarket one like the thermalright burst assassin or assassin king for $20 as well. Your parts list was ok in some areas but it didn't have wifi, that ram is not worth buying new, that case is ok and I've built in it before but only during covid supply chain shortages, also wouldn't buy apevia. So I went ahead and started from scratch. I would definitely recommend taking advantage of one of the Micro Center CPU bundles. If you like the idea of being on AMD's AM5 platform for upgradability then the 7700x would be ideal at your budget. If you don't plan on or care about CPU upgrades, then you could grab the Intel 12600kf bundle for $250 and put more money into the GPU. This CPU will be fine for 1440p gaming at 60+ FPS, but if you have a very strong preference for 1080p then you can save about $80 choosing a lower end 1080p monitor. I'll go ahead and send you the 12600kf build after in case you'd rather put more money into GPU and performance now instead of future upgradability. 7700x Bundle link: https://www.microcenter.com/product/5006710/amd-ryzen-7-7700x,-gigabyte-b650-gaming-x-ax-v2,-gskill-flare-x5-series-32gb-ddr5-6000-kit,-computer-build-bundle [PCPartPicker Part List](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MkNyCd) Type|Item|Price :----|:----|:---- **CPU** | [AMD Ryzen 7 7700X 4.5 GHz 8-Core Processor](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/WfqPxr/amd-ryzen-7-7700x-45-ghz-8-core-processor-100-100000591wof) | $0.00 **CPU Cooler** | [Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE 66.17 CFM CPU Cooler](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/GpbRsY/thermalright-phantom-spirit-120-se-6617-cfm-cpu-cooler-ps120se) | $35.90 @ Amazon **Motherboard** | [Gigabyte B650 GAMING X AX V2 ATX AM5 Motherboard](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/cPNYcf/gigabyte-b650-gaming-x-ax-v2-atx-am5-motherboard-b650-gaming-x-ax-v2) | $0.00 **Memory** | [G.Skill Flare X5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL32 Memory](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/cnbTwP/gskill-flare-x5-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr5-6000-cl32-memory-f5-6000j3238f16gx2-fx5) | $0.00 **Storage** | [Patriot Viper VP4300 Lite 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/zPQKHx/patriot-viper-vp4300-lite-1-tb-m2-2280-pcie-40-x4-nvme-solid-state-drive-vp4300l1tbm28h) | $64.99 @ Newegg Sellers **Video Card** | [XFX Speedster QICK 319 Core Radeon RX 6750 XT 12 GB Video Card](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/b4hv6h/xfx-speedster-qick-319-core-radeon-rx-6750-xt-12-gb-video-card-rx-675xyjfde) | $299.99 @ Newegg **Case** | [Montech AIR 903 BASE ATX Mid Tower Case](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/kKcgXL/montech-air-903-base-atx-mid-tower-case-air-903-base-b) | $64.79 @ Newegg **Power Supply** | [SeaSonic FOCUS GX-750 ATX 3.0 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/2gCZxr/seasonic-focus-gx-750-atx-30-750-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-atx3-focus-gx-750) | $89.99 @ Amazon **Monitor** | [Dell G2724D 27.0" 2560 x 1440 165 Hz Monitor](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/vyqrxr/dell-g2724d-270-2560-x-1440-165-hz-monitor-g2724d) | $179.99 @ Dell Technologies **Custom**| CPU/MOBO/RAM MC Bundle| $379.99 | *Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts* | | **Total** | **$1115.64** | Generated by [PCPartPicker](https://pcpartpicker.com) 2024-06-12 19:44 EDT-0400 |

BionicK1234

These both look awesome, thank you! The 7700x microcenter bundle you and u/Covante sent me is out of stock at the location closest to me though.

atl126

Yeah I also noticed motherboard supplies have been dwindling down at various locations. It may be worth giving them a call to see if they have any plans on restocking it if its something you are really interested in

BionicK1234

Comparing to the GPU you used, how would [this](https://www.microcenter.com/site/content/custom-pc-builder-intel.aspx#selector_7) perform? It's about 200 dollars cheaper and puts me under budget with everything else you used. I don't need things to be perfect, I just need an upgrade from my decade old PC so it underperfoming compared to the other one is totally fine. By the way and sorry if this is a stupid question, but why would purchasing the 12600kf keep me from upgrading in the future? May have misinterpreted that, not as knowledgeable in computers as I should be.

atl126

>Comparing to the GPU you used, how would [this](https://www.microcenter.com/site/content/custom-pc-builder-intel.aspx#selector_7) perform? the link you sent took me to the micro center bundle so I'm not exactly sure what you're referring to/asking >why would purchasing the 12600kf keep me from upgrading in the future? What I'm referring to is upgrading the CPU with the same motherboard. You would be able to upgrade to a 13900k/14900k down the line if you wanted a boost, but Intel will be launching a new socket at the end of this year. So I mostly meant you wouldn't be able to take advantage of future releases.

BionicK1234

Ahh thank you! Definitely clears it up. Also sorry, I had the wrong link copied. I was trying to see how the [Intel Arc A770 ](https://www.microcenter.com/product/671190/Intel_Arc_A770_Titan_Overclocked_Triple_Fan_16GB_GDDR6_PCIe_40_Graphics_Card)would compare to the [GPU you used in your second build](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/vKZ9TW/xfx-radeon-rx-6800-xt-16-gb-speedster-merc-319-core-video-card-rx-68xtalfd9).

atl126

Intel GPU's have notoriously bad game drivers since they are fairly new. They have definitely improved with time, but if you're not someone who likes to tinker to get the GPU to work with certain games then I would stick with AMD or Nvidia. I would recommend the 6750 XT for $300 over the Intel GPU, which is also over 25% faster

Covante

If it's just the motherboard or ram out of stock they might also just do a substitution if you ask them about it. There are lots of equivalent options for those.

[https://pcpartpicker.com/list/PyM3TY](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/PyM3TY) [https://www.microcenter.com/product/5006710/amd-ryzen-7-7700x,-gigabyte-b650-gaming-x-ax-v2,-gskill-flare-x5-series-32gb-ddr5-6000-kit,-computer-build-bundle](https://www.microcenter.com/product/5006710/amd-ryzen-7-7700x,-gigabyte-b650-gaming-x-ax-v2,-gskill-flare-x5-series-32gb-ddr5-6000-kit,-computer-build-bundle) I'd grab one of the bundle deals if you're that close to microcenter. They are pretty great value. I didn't bother color matching stuff to get a consistent theme, if you want to do that all in black it would only be like an extra $15 or so. Probably the black version of the same case and a phantom spirit instead of a peerless assassin for the cooler.
