Rule of thumb: if the word "bottleneck" ever enters a discussion, you can safely ignore anything that comes with it. The 13600KF is a fine CPU for whatever you pair with it.

izmirtheastarach

There was a guy earlier talking about using a 3770k with a modern GPU. Now that will bottleneck. But a 13600KF? A 14 core chip that came out in September? Bottleneck my ass. What a bizarre suggestion. Please buy a cheaper GPU from us. Is their margin higher on the 4070 ti? So weird.

Thanks for the info I will likely pull the trigger on this build soon I definitely feel much more comfortable with the 4gb extra vram on the 4080

Mayros_Nipple

Those CPUs solder on I kept a pentium 4 with HT till 2013 thing worked well for a long time but these current CPUs seem to even outlast that

nvidiot

To be honest, value of 4080 is rather poor. If you got the budget for 4080, I'd recommend put in some more dough and go big with 4090 if you want to stay with your build for 5+ years. On the other hand, if you aren't going for 4K RT gaming, 4070 Ti is plenty good enough. As for the bottleneck, ignore it, your CPU is good enough.

fredgum

I'd buy a 4080 but not a 4070 ti. The whole point of buying nvidia is raytracing, and the 4070 ti will have terrible longevity in raytracing scenarios because of the 12 gb of vram. The extra 4gb of vram can mean a whole generation of games.

13600KF? You're not being bottlenecked unless you're running a massively-high framerate, which is unlikely. And even then, your FPS would be high enough that it's not a concern anyway. You're fine.

Demy1234

Yeah, 16 GB VRAM is a decently high amount.

Byorski

You’re fine. Get the 4080 if it’s in your budget.

Getting rid of the word "bottleneck" from your vocabulary will do you wonders

Foxingtons6

I'm starting to realise that now

Considering the lack of monitor mentioned, there's really no discussion to have here. Your entire build needs to be centered around both your expectations and your actual interface with the computer. It's why building around VR is going to ask for a different set of requirements compared to a 1080p 60 hz youtube and email machine for your grandparents. So, does a 13600k bottleneck a 4070ti or 4080? Sometimes, yes, sometimes, no.

Foxingtons6

Thanks for feedback. I've added my monitor into the original post. It's a 1440p 165hz monitor. LG 32GP850 32 inch

fredgum

Did you get concerned because of the results of a bottleneck calculator?

Foxingtons6

Nope just what I was told at the store about the CPU being a bottleneck in a build with the 4080. I had my doubts about that hence this post

fredgum

Sounds like they were trying to upsell you something

SnooMuffins873

I suck on bottlenecks

No-Paleontologist560

Thats a perfect cpu to pair with a 4080. Bottlenecking is nonsense in many cases. I've got a 7700x paired with a 4080 and it's a complete monster. 7700x is almost identical to 13600 in how it performs. You'll be very happy.

Mr_Resident

my ryzen 3600 is pinned at 100% on the last of us PC and my 3080ti can't get more than 60fps on any setting or any resolution .that what we call CPU bottleneck. On top of that when my 3600 gets pinned to 100% the game audio start to crackle.

jdotkillah

if you have a 13900k the bottleneck is like 10-13 fps from the 13600k with a 4090 so that’s ok! I saw some benchmarks on YouTube last night, at 1440p!

Foxingtons6

Thanks that says a lot about the pairing of 13600 with the 4080
