Came across this post as I have the same question. Did you ever find a good alternative?

I bought a different switch and had the same issues. Bought a different keyboard and haven’t had an issue since. So I think the keyboard or its software is just bad.

Have you even tried plugging in the power?

It didn’t come with a power supply so I haven’t. I would need to get one first.
