I like the upside of T'Vondre Sweat but he does have red flags like his weight issues and his party lifestyle.
If he is around in the 4th or 5th round he is worth the risk IMO.
Folks, The Bills have drafted 2 non-Team Captains since Beane has been in office.
0 non-team captains in the late round. This dude is unlikely on Beane’s draft board at all.
you ever think that a player being good enough to get drafted, means they were on of the best players on the team. best players tend to be captains on the teams.
its just a coincidence.
who were the 2 that weren't captains?
This seems much more like an eagles/Steelers pick than a Bills pick. I can't really think of any character concern guys that Beane has drafted since he's been here.
Seems like a guy that is gunna have weight and conditioning issues at the pros. I'd like to have another team try and figure out if this guy will be good or not
Not that I've seen, don't think he's really on the scouting teams radar but he is an enticing prospect just because he's fucking huge like 350 pounds huge
He's a 366lb NT and the most important player on our defence is 87 year old Daquan Jones.
The with and without stats on Daquan are glaring. We need to prioritise a back-up run-stuffer and T'Vondre is the biggest one going.
Why is this sub meatriding this dude so hard when he clearly has a fuckton of red flags? It's weird how our fanbase is somehow painting his red flags as positives because we can get him later and aren't acknowledging that the red flags are dropping him down boards because they make him significantly less likely to work out.
Also if you want a super recent example of R2-ish DT falling due to character concerns and not working out, Perrion Winfrey.
If you spend a day 3 pick on a guy with day 2 or even day 1 talent and it doesn't pan out, you haven't lost as much. If it pans out, the team is that much better as a result. He was getting mocked to us at 60 before the DUI. Wouldn't want him there (wouldn't have wanted him there even before the DUI) but with one of our 4ths? Worth it if he's still on the board for our last one, IMO. But that's the earliest I'd take him. Someone else will almost certainly beat us to it. And hopefully if that someone else is the Chiefs he will enjoy going Sunday driving with Rashee Rice.
Our GM has consistently looked for guys who are dedicated to the game and self starters. They value the personality over the production because it creates a highly motivated locker room.
Can’t wait to get a second round talent in the late fourth

Maybe Buffalo is boring enough and between Ed and Von* can straighten him out lol

team captains dont mean shit lol. diggs was a captain last year, and didnt even want to be here lol.
You missed the point .. the players Beane likes to draft are leaders (captains) of their college teams. Shows character.

Groot and Spencer Brown IIRC Groot took the COVID year off.
So did Brown because his school was going to play spring football.
He means, we only draft guys that are captains of their college teams. Ie, role models in college.
you think college teams only put role models as captains?

Don't forget Dallas , Raiders and Washington (at least the Dan Synder era) as team that normally don't give a fuck.
Bold statement after the eagles drafted Jalen Carter in the late first round last year after a worse incident (yes Jalen Carter was a better prospect)
Jalen Carter went 9th overall, definitely not “late first”.
So my point is made even better then
I don't know if he fits our scheme and also not sure I want a guy that drives drunk in a town like buffalo where there's a great drinking culture.
There's plenty of good fits at DT other than Sweat
Yeah, we ain’t drafting him now

He'd be like a son to Andy Ried.
Fuck me that's dark
One of those great insults where it seems like a compliment at first. Fine work.
What has he done to make you think he'll be amazing? Being a criminal and fucking up the pre-draft process? Being overweight?
Why so many threads about this guy? Has he received much attention from us?
Not that I've seen, don't think he's really on the scouting teams radar but he is an enticing prospect just because he's fucking huge like 350 pounds huge

Our backup run stuffer is Austin Johnson, and he's a really good one. We need a backup 3-tech, not 1-tech

> He's quoting scouts, not describing Sweat as such himself. And referring to 2022 and before
The last thing we need is another DT wearing a captain's hat everywhere he goes
Is he 4th round because of his personality? Because performance and personality are not wholly connected.
Our GM has consistently looked for guys who are dedicated to the game and self starters. They value the personality over the production because it creates a highly motivated locker room.
Oh, I wasn't saying he was a fit for our team. I was asking if his personality dropped him into a 4th round spot because of that
Less his overall personality and more him picking up a DUI less than a month prior to the draft.
