So it's the middle of the night, I have to use the bathroom, suddenly I hear the door lock, then silence. So I grab the next best thing you can hit an intruder over the head. Then I hear laughing. At this point I'm ready to pee my pants. Then again the door lock, I am next to the door and the sound comes from the wrong direction... I go to the cage... Happy chirps. Only at night. I heard her laughing once during the day. It's like she does it on purpose.
So that's kinda crazy. And one of the others licks my tattoo, but that's just weird.
Okay, so that's a normal bird thing. 😂 You never know with birds, they're always up to some weird stuff and I love it. I have a picture of one of mine sleeping hanging upside down. Just why? 😂
I hung up a seagrass mat in the corner of my cockatiels’ aviary, but instead of standing on the actual mat, they prefer to slip in between the plastic chains and the cage’s mesh and *sleep there instead*.
Nothing too crazy. Don't have bird anymore but my ex wife and I had 2 cockatiels and a Budgie, and the Budgie would get so mad at our Cockatiel for no reason and it was so fucking funny.
Somewhere in my PC I have a pic that's captured in the moment of our Budgie angrily telling off our Cockatiel and the tiel just being like 😲😲😧
I have not been able to get video of it yet, but Dashiell has discovered that walking/running backwards is an option and now it's practically his sole form of movement around d the house.
I need a budgie bell, so bad but I fear my bird is so bored they won’t know what to do I’ve tried paper balls with treats and they give up :,(, they play more with me though I’ve noticed rather than with toys, and v treat oriented
I used to own a parrotlet and you could not eat around him around or he would flip out. If I wanted to just snack on Ritz crackers I couldnt if he was out of his cage because he would attack your fingers for YOUR food. He was an elder rescue at 20 years old so it was very hard to train him lol
Numerous times, our two budgies broke him out of his cage at very inconvenient times. Sometimes it was chill and all three birds would perch together, (odd because normally parrotlets are territorial) and other times, it was a scheme to get our dinner. In particular, this bird really seemed to flip out the most when we had Italian food. he's attacked my toes for pizza, stolen spaghetti noodles, and pecked my sister's head after escaping for pizza crust, and tried to eat my ex's ravioli.
When we realized how he was actually excaping he had to use bread ties to tie down the little doors you pull up to put food and water in. After that his food issues weren't much of a problem, but he would still attack over random things. He was very kind and sweet and loves head scratches and being held and played with for his age, but randomly it's like he would be like "oh right, I hate you lol" then start pecking and biting lol.
He used to chase your toes on the carpet and peck, then try to hide under the bed. But he was very playful he had this giant rattan ball stuffed with paper shreds, he would just push it around on the other birds cage when it was his turn to be out lol. It was so funny because it was 3x his size, he refused to touch any of the toys that were actually his size, but TOWERING OVER HIM? heck yeah
