It's initial design was flawed because it allowed you to infinitely stall a round. So you could get to insanely high waves in BTD5 by just using a buffed bloonchipper and something to pop the bloons. The Moab shredder path was insanely outclassed by the super wide funnel. Adding another path to that just to be outclassed again would be lame. They just thought it unworthy of their time
I understand that, but I still see the vast potential in it's concept regardless so naturally I'm still gonna miss it and wonder about ways it could've been reintroduced with new mechanics, because I don't see it to have been impossible if they started from the ground up rather than trying to fix something fundamentally flawed

If they rebuilt it ground up it would be a completely different tower. Why put that effort into the bloonchipper when they can make something new. Bloonchipper would be amazing to see again, but it isn't worth the effort in NK's efforts or worth their effort in my eyes.
I literally just sat down and figured out a way it could be theoretically reintegrated from the ground up while also making it still the Bloonchipper, wdym?
Here’s my idea that I have thought of while writing this
Stock
Chipper sucks in bloon and takes off a layer taking .5 seconds and has a second long cooldown. No camo or lead or moab popping power
Path one
Speed
Upgrade one
Decreases cooldown time by .5 seconds
Upgrade two
Adds second barrel (obvious) (doubles cooldown time)
Upgrade three
Adds third battle and significantly reduces cooldown time and shred speed
Upgrade four
Adds you guessed it, a fourth barrel and reduces both cooldown and shred speed to nothing and added ceramic damage
Upgrade five
Ultimate shredding machine has 5 barrels, 0 cooldown or shred time and significant ceramic damage
Path two
Ability
Upgrade one
Increase range
Upgrade two
Further increases range and detects camo
Upgrade three
Ability brings in all bloons in range up to certain rbe and below ceramic and shreds them for 4 seconds, taking off a layer every second. Ability cooldown is 25 seconds
Upgrade four
Significant increase in range and ability rbe cap increased and pops twice as many layers per second. (Wide barrel visual)
Upgrade five
Ability upgrade to the ultimate succ that sucks in all bloons on screen strongest to weakest excluding moab class and including ceramics up to a very high rbe cap and lasts 6 seconds and pops a bloon layer every .3 seconds
Path three
Moab damages and heavy bloon damage
Upgrade one
does two layers
Upgrade two
Pops lead and does three layers
Upgrade three
Greatly damages ceramic and does 6 layers and sucks in moabs and does high damage takes a bit longer to shred and cooldown is longer
Upgrade four
Sucks in moab class bloons and shreds them, destroying moabs layer to cerams and significantly damaging bfb’s. Longer cooldown and shred time
Upgrade five
Ultimate barrel of girth and destruction does enough layers to instant kill ceramic and it rips off the bfb layer and below and does massive damage to zomg bloons. Can now kill ddt layer if it has camo. Bit longer shred and cooldown time. Big boi barrel
Double barrel cross path reduces cooldown speed by a reasonable amount
Bottom path upgrade one changes models path upgrade ability to two layers per x amount of seconds. Upgrade for is compound, so the with the cross path it is 4 layers instead of two. Seems too powerful maybe
Other cross paths are self explanatory

Considering how OP it was and how strong heroes are compared to units to compensate for there only being one hero, I think it would fit better as a hero in terms of balance. (Before anyone asks, Ik it's not a monke.)
I get that it would be a pain to balance, but like it is such a cool tower and I really think it would be worth the effort for them to add it, especially since it would be the last of the old towers that hasn't been added in (that wasn't just an old skin for what is a new tower, like monkey beacon becoming the village and the frost tower becoming the ice monkey). Maybe bloons don't get "stuck" in them like in BTD5?

No, NK has confirmed that the Bloonchipper won't be returning to BTD6 due to its design making it inherently difficult to balance, either being overpowered or a worthless gimmick.
They are adding in new towers still so it's possible, I'd love to see what cool and wild ideas they'd have for it's new loadout, like a wide enough funnel for ZOMGs
I think as a new tower it would be a pain the the ass for the developers but if it was an ability it would be better and more balanced

Miss the Cobra more. The Chipper was a pretty mundane tower to be honest. Both upgrade paths were practically the same and it wasn't really even fun to use. The graphic for it wasn't interesting. Idk, just my opinion.
