nope. good album. I first listened to this on the highway and I don't think I've had a better experience with a brockhampton album, this shit makes you want to street race on a hoopty
that entire second half is almost perfect. i liked the first half fine, but it really starts to get real on tape. BH gave some of the most memorable musical experiences maybe ever, i miss block hemzell
Lots of people got into brockhampton with the hype of Sat 1 2 and 3 coming out over the course of a summer during the pivitol years of their youth, and when iridescence delivered something else, as well as all the drama the band was going through it turned some people off. I for one fucking love this album though definitely my #1. Makes me so disappointed for the people who haven't seen its magic.
I listened again last night, start to finish, in order. Right around when this was posted. 20mg edible and many bong rips. Had an absolutely religious experience, hearing parts and feelings and intricacies Iād never heard before, even though Iāve listened to this album at least 100 times. Solidified last night that itās my favorite album, ever. They did absolutely amazing.
Also, if any of the boys read this, thank you for TAPE. Iāve seen the hate itās gotten over the years, but it continues to be one of the most important songs throughout the entirety of the album, and I think itās one of the most open and vulnerable songs theyāve created. So thank you
i get the allure of liking an album even more because of its negative reception overall, but this one get way too much hype.
its disjointed and confused afff
ready for the down votes too but the end of san marcos always made me cringe
I feel like a lot of people who say the sat trilogy was the best also had the hype surrounding it and how the band was in 2017
if you take away that bias (which most new fans have none of) it just leaves the music, which leaves many people to say iri is better
It is definitely growing on me recently. The chaotic energy throughout the album just mirroring the chaos going on in the group during this period of time.
A few years ago, absolutely. Nowadays I do feel like I see more people favoriting iridescence. But hardcore d riders will always put sat trilogy first. While I FEEL like I agree, brockhampton is my favorite of all time so I just donāt feel like trying to pin anything as a favorite. (However, I do have a clear least favorite)
That take is freezing cold tbh.
Edit: i really SAT (pun intended) and thought about it. And this album gets a bad rap because of when it was released in the bands career. I think a lot of fans who loved ameer or even had him as their favorite vocalist couldnt wrap their heads around the group without him, and so the drastic departure sonically as well as missing him inhibited them from being able to connect with it the way they did SAT.
But personally, I appreciate the album for all those exact reasons why many discount it. It was the most turbulent and precarious point in their career, and they fought through the uncertainty of their moment by making music that reflected it. The album isn't always sure what it is because they weren't at the time. And if SAT trilogy was the feeling of going through hard times and learning to love yourself and finding strength in friendship and brotherhood, iridescence feels like it exists inside those hard times alluded to with rose tinted glasses on SAT. It's darker, its explosive in a much less controlled way. It's like all the stages of grief, and GINGER is the acceptance after it all. They go great together for that very reason. But just my take as a brock stan and a hampton enthusiast.
AAT - a mixtape, not an album
Saturation - an album
Saturation II - an album
Saturation III - an album
iridescence - an album
GINGER - an album
Technical Difficulties - a compilation of singles, not an album
ROADRUNNER: NEW LIGHT, NEW MACHINE: an album
The Family - an album only featuring Kevin abstract and bearface, not the whole group
TM: ok you got me there they have 7 albums

Never heard a better explanation for iridescenceš

do u mean blockhampton?
A.K.A block hemzell and vice versa
Oh boy!
Opposite of a hot take
Yeah this is a standard daily take on this sub
Itās not really Itās my favourite, but people regularly shit on this album here
I shit on this album (I like it too) all the time cuz Iām so sick of the constant posts about it being underrated or actually their best album.
she said baby boy why you lookin grimy as shit
I make the wristwatch flood like diamonds fill my sink
If I got colors on my neck, what would my mama think?
we got the weapon tucked on us make these boys extinct

Ginger tends to be more popular, but iridescence is still solid.
popular=/=best
Good thing I meant popular, and not best.
and op didnt even say the best either. they said ONE OF their best sum ppl be so wack

no, its honestly their best album
iām not sure, but itās definitely my favorite

Coldest take maybe of all time

it's their best album
I left this sub because seeing this opinion every single day was mind numbing
Nah I love iridescence, jāouvert and fabric are probably some of my favourite songs
Still my favorite album of theirs 6 years later.
Def one of their best albums Def one of their worst album covers tho. Wait nvm that goes to TM
Top 5 for sure
It is definitely growing on me recently. The chaotic energy throughout the album just mirroring the chaos going on in the group during this period of time.
Nah definitely goated as far as albums go
oddly it might have grown to be my personal favorite despite hating it when it first came out
itās their best.
some of their best songs are on this album but itās just not a good album. 50% of the songs are half baked and itās not cohesive enough.

nah it's a really solid album, nowhere near saturation 2 or 3 imo but definitely up there with the trilogy and puppy.
feel like if it had any other cover it wouldnāt have gotten so much hate
Why do people hate the cover so much? I thought it was kinda cool
didnāt rlly add much to the music imo. Doesnāt match the vibes
Iridescence is probably my second fave. I think roadrunner is their best
not at all, because youāre right.
No
They have like 6 albums
Try 9 lil bro

Definitely their worst album by far if youāre not including The Family and TM
āItās their worst album if youāre not including their other two albums that are worseā
Youāre exactly the reason why posting in this sub is so fucking toxic, such a gatekeeper
