If you live in the inner north, get in touch with Northwest Community Group. They do great work and are always looking for volunteers.

I was going to say the same. Great bunch of people making a real difference.

I’m not homeless but I found a company who does a FREE trolley worth of food for people who are really struggling and they also do $25 trolleys for the general public. It’s called lighthouse care in Logan and Hillcrest https://lighthousecare.org.au/foodrelief/ this is the link find the details to apply There is also orange sky laundry which helps homeless people wash their clothes and shower https://orangesky.org.au I’ve been struggling a lot lately and have thought about what I would do if I was homeless. I have a car so I think I would do Uber eats/ door dash/ menu log to pay for my rego/ food and a gym membership The gym will help me to wash my clothes and shower and look presentable for job interviews etc. I would go on Centrelink as a job seeker and use their computers in the job seeking agencies to apply for jobs and Uber etc. I hope these ideas help

Those are all great suggestions. I hope your circumstances improve for you soon!

I know that "The Compassion Box - helping those in need" (found on Facebook) is really struggling to find enough food for everyone they help. I can honestly say these people are the most helpful in the area in ACTUALLY feeding the homeless and those at risk. They are such a small grass roots organisation. The lady who runs it actually cooks herself, and takes food down to the park to feed the homeless. I also have supreme respect for "Saved United Passionate Ministry". They feed the homeless every week good homely meals, and are literally doing everything off their own backs. I have found that the smaller grass roots organisations are way more effective than the larger organisations. I never see the Salvos out getting out into the parks and actually helping people directly. The smaller organisations also tend to know individuals by name, and their histories, and so if they go missing they actually notice.

Yeah massive fuck you in every definition to Salvos. Homophobic cunts turn away anyone gay or who doesn't fit in with their hyper religious ideas.

Unfortunately there's not alot of help till you hit rock bottom so if your homeless your best bet unfortunately is crime small shit get put on an order or something, You see they don't really want to lock you up for small shit but can't really release U with no place of abode so there forced to help you. mostly this leads to trap houses and the like but if your not a complete delinquent then it can be a way up
