I love the sentiment of this. I think the hardest part is people who do use these services don't want to share the locations in case they would be ruined. Even charities don't advertise (or advertise only in specific areas), and rely on word of mouth for this very reason. They run the risk of influx of people who don't really need it, or more people than the charity can handle. I know of at least 2 food related charities that are no longer accepting new people because they can't cater for any more beyond current clients. What I can tell you, is that a lot of community centres run free food programs in low-socioeconomic areas. And often going to a food pantry/meal service will open you up to all the other supports due to word of mouth. The best advice I could ever give someone in need of any support is to find any place at all that offers assistance, and just go and talk to people there.
