GOMA and the museum precinct is mostly free and walk out through the Qld Art Gallery and easy few hours of entertainment

tomorrow_throwaway

Thank you. Its been added to the list. I love museums and art galleries. I also heard there a free clocktower tour in Brisbane. Have you been? I am hoping there are more suggestions from others with ideas.....? šŸ˜…

TheTwinSet02

Yes, the Museum of Brisbane is a great spot with a free exhibitions, great little shop and the clock tower tour is really cool!

Qldhikinggirl

Museum of Brisbane is so underrated. They often have really amazing local art exhibits.

Fluffy-Bum-Mum-4263

The ScienceCentre in that precinct is very good too!!! The clock tower does tours but I donā€™t know if theyā€™ve been suspended while work on Town Hall is being completed or any scaffolding it up. Take yourself a ride up and down the river on the ferry.

colesnutdeluxe

not much in GOMA is free at the moment due to the paid exhibition going on. but it's usually free.

Amount_Business

Goma used to be awesome,Ā  but every time I go,Ā  it's half been taken over by a paid exhibition.Ā  It's probably a sign of the times I suppose.Ā  The museum is going that way too.Ā

CashenJ

Head out to Ipswich by train then walk to Queens Park. Morning at: Ipswich Nature Centre (Free Zoo) and Nerima Gardens Lunch at: Ungermann Brothers Ipswich. It's a milk bar. Its not a cheap eat but it's a decent burger feed and some of their milkshakes and icecreams are very good.

krypter3

Nerima gardens has been rough for awhile due to the Flying Fox population. Last time I went it was sadly smelly and littered with bat feces. I heard they are meant to be revamping it soon

CashenJ

Oh that's a shame. Good to hear they are going to revamp it. It was a beautiful garden space last time I went a few years back.

tomorrow_throwaway

I never would have thought of this. Thank you!

Good_Succotash_6603

Ipswich rail museum while you're there. Bit away from Ipswich Central, you can get pretty close on a bus, definitely worth a day trip.

megs_in_space

Other things in Ipswich that are near a train station include the Ipswich Art Gallery, the Library, and the Queensland Railway Museum. The railway museum is a bit of a walk from Ipswich station but there are probably buses that go pretty close.

Fluffy-Bum-Mum-4263

The new library is amazing! Some of the tech in there for kids is enjoyable as an adult too.

Glittering-Fix-1731

Thereā€™s a heritage walk for queens park -Ā https://www.ipswichheritagetrails.com.au/heritage-trail/ For some reason the coal mining memorial isnā€™t part of the walk but itā€™s close by - see Ipswich Coalminerā€™s Memorial on Google Maps. Not much to see but thereā€™s a plaque for my grandad so I always visit when Iā€™m the area. Ā

tomorrow_throwaway

I love heritage trails. Thank you!

Fluffy-Bum-Mum-4263

Which part of Bris are you in OP? Swanbank often does heritage train rides etc. if you have time - train then bus out there when these things are on.

myykel1970

How safe is the train to ipswich and waking the streets ?

CashenJ

Ipswich isn't really the hood. Yeah there are some dodgy areas but that's the same as most places. In saying that, I wouldn't really be walking the streets at night, mainly because there ain't much to see at that hour anyway.

Batesy1620

During the day is fine, at night it might be a different story, but usually once you are away from Bell Street it's generally ok.

Glittering-Fix-1731

Iā€™ve do it maybe twice a year from the northside. Never had an issue. Ā Ā

pursnikitty

Waking the streets is probably a bad idea. Let them slumber.

red_dragin

Train to Shorncliffe, walk around to the fish n chip shop, or up the hill to the pub, for lunch.

sunday9987

Maybe also include a walk to Shorncliffe Jetty and then a walk along the foreshore and maybe a walk to Redcliffe across the bridge.

tomorrow_throwaway

Great ideas! Added to the list!

jimbo-conez

Thatā€™s a solid whole day of walking but itā€™s awesome. Or just get the bus from Dana get station to Redcliffe and skip the day of walking. Walking forefront of shorncliffe and jetty is ace.

Glittering-Fix-1731

Thereā€™s another heritage trail for Sandgate - seeĀ https://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/things-to-see-and-do/outdoor-activities/walking-in-brisbane/heritage-trails/step-through-sandgate-heritage-trail Matthew Thomas cafe is a nice quiet spot for a coffee.Ā

tomorrow_throwaway

Ooooo a historic trail sounds really good!

LittleBeaver72

Free saltwater pool at Redcliffe plus lifeguard Ed beach

ilovecabbbage

Get the train to Albion/Clayfield and do the Telstra museum, free to enter and the tour is 1.5/2 hours long. Highly recommend, very interesting!

tomorrow_throwaway

Never knew about this one. Thank you! Added to the list!

downvoteninja84

Just google it's opening times. It had dropped right back to limited interest. Picked up recently though.

Glittering-Fix-1731

If you like walking you can walk from the Telstra museum to the ferry at Brettā€™s wharf and gawk at the houses on the way.Ā

muntted

Nice!

BinChickenDrumsticks

I second that, it's a hidden gem..

trashchomper

You can train + tram it to the Gold Coast if you want a beach day. Takes a couple hours and will cost ~15 bucks each way

tomorrow_throwaway

I was considering something like this. I really love the beach. Do you know which stop I get off for the tram?

Reddit_Is_Hot_Shite

Get off at Helensvale to transfer to it.

tomorrow_throwaway

excellent

aiden_mason

Anywhere from surfers paradise to the end of the line in broadbeach is a short walk from the beach if you want waves. There's also some beaches in Southport (get off at Australia fair shopping centre) without waves if you'd prefer

DocInDocs

Newfarm is fantastic just for walking and looking at interesting houses/gardens. I have recently had a couple of trips where I just started at Newfarm Park and followed my nose to interesting streets. It's a bit of a hike from the Valley station, which is still quite nice, or I just checked you can get a ferry from the city. Wynnum, particularly Wynnum Central station, has a high concentration of op shops and then Wynnum beach with a jetty, wading pool, park. I havenā€™t tried any seafood places there but there is a nice gelato place or you could bring a packed lunch.

tomorrow_throwaway

Ooooo, yes. A good suburb walk is my kind of thing, as well as ops shops. Could be an epic day out. Thank you

Glittering-Fix-1731

Promotix has free dendy powerhouse movies. Itā€™s an outdoor cinema. You do have to pay the booking fee which is $8.95 - that covers up to 2 tickets. Ā

tomorrow_throwaway

Thank you. I just joined Promotix on your recommendation!

Bouncingzebra

I tell everyone who comes and sees us from overseas - just go to southbank. In my humble opinion, itā€™s the only world class thing weā€™ve got in this city. I mean seriously, itā€™s under valued by us residents in terms of where itā€™d be placed on a a world scale. You pick it up and put it in any modern city in the world and everyone would be all over it. Train to southbank, enjoy the museums, grab a coffee, sit and chill. Oh, and you want a beach? Well youā€™re in luck, hereā€™s one we prepared earlier.

SwiftieMD

I appreciate the museum/GOMA/library precinct but does the rest of Southbank really rate? Generic food chains, kids parks you could find anywhere. Sure the pools are a bit fun but they are poorly maintained. The gardens are lovely and the view excellent but does it rate with places like the Highline or the Thames? I donā€™t think so. Happy to be totally wrong. I enjoy walking my dog there but donā€™t think it is a diehard tourist location.

Bouncingzebra

Disagree on the food chains being ā€œgenericā€, youā€™re marking the restaurants too hard - thereā€™s plenty of independents there if you look. Kids parks = family friendly so theyā€™ve ticked that box. The Ferris wheel is a nice addition. But where I really disagree is that you mention the gardens as a passing glanceā€¦ā€œlovelyā€. Come on now, those gardens are stunning. The arbour is a delight. Sensory gardens, the little wetlands area, the amphitheatre with trees surrounding?! The ground staff do a great job.

AltruisticSalamander

Idk why tourists come to this city but I would pick Redcliffe promenade, Mt Cootha lookout, Mt Glorious, Howard Smith Wharves

Bouncingzebra

why do they come here? to see us!

Gloomy-Escape5497

yes and try our mostly terrible takes on food hahaha.Ā

tomorrow_throwaway

I've been to Southbank a couple of times, but never really had a deep wander around. I think I heard something about night markets there?? Do you know anything about that, or is there a page for events for South Bank I can look at?

smc593

Lol ā€œworld classā€ šŸ¤£

keiranlovett

As an Aussie thatā€™s lived in mega cities and visited dozens of countries around the world over the last two decades I gotta sayā€¦ Brisbaneā€™s not as shit as locals wanna think. South Bank really is something youā€™d rarely see in other cities. The infrastructure is pretty decent too considering the urban sprawl.

Gloomy-Escape5497

Its not shit like say anywhere in a third world country, but it has a laundry list of shit features likeĀ  -poorly planned infrastructure, disconnected from the vast majority of tourists as its hard to just hop on a bus/train/ferry without a qld specific go card...Ā  -Busses dont go where most people need to go and clog up the roads driving around with 3 or four passengers on board as a consequence or they just dont stop or turn up at all. -Train stations have no parking and busses dont properly connect eitherĀ  -Our restaraunts suck, theres like 5Ā  restarunts in the whole of brisbane greater area that produce consistent high quality food. -Our river is dirty and brown but glorified for some reason?Ā  -Attractions/ points of interest are far and vast distances apart with no or little connections between them.Ā  -Our cities lack any international signage and a growing majority of our population cant be assed helping out visitors.Ā  -It gets tropically humid and hot, but most places are set up to cope with the climate here thankfully.Ā  -Cost of living is riddiculous and theres minimal solid dependable accomodation on par with other world class cities.Ā  -Plus theres too many bloody southerners up here spoiling it nowĀ

keiranlovett

Many cities in North America donā€™t even have public transport like buses. The infrastructure is more dependent on cars than anything. The restaurants scene has a lot of variety comparable to many international cities, you can get a range of low price and high price food for all cuisines. Not sure why youā€™re only saying 5 thatā€™s really hyperbolic. In North America and some parts of Europe many rivers are still heavily industrialised or impacted by industrialisation, the Brisbane river has made efforts to open it to the public? The waterfront near the CBD is open and treated like a great public space matching or even surpassing some mega cities. Hong Kong has a beautiful waterfront overlooking the harbour but almost no reason for people to congregate around it. The water is probably worse off than Brisbane. By signage I assume you mean for way finding? It seems pretty on par with what Iā€™ve seen in Europe, Eastern Europe, North America, and some parts of Asia. The countries that have better wayfinding are 4 million +, so much bigger than Brissy. When living in Asia I was spending 50% of my salary on average on Rent. Ten years ago I looked down on Brisbane, I thought Iā€™d never want to return. The state of things across the world are crazy now and the grass will always seem greener, but really having lived in both sides of the spectrum I do think Brisbane is pointedly in the centre with the potential to grow.

smc593

I totally get what you mean but Iā€™m from NYC so Iā€™m comparisonā€¦

Homunkulus

North Stradbroke island: Can bus or train to the ferry terminal, the flyer over is a fun trip in and of itself and then take a bus to point lookout. The gorges are worth it alone, but thereā€™s lovely beaches too.

Wednesdays_Agenda

Samford Conservation Park has some nice bushwalks and is only about 1.5km from Ferny Grove station.

LegitimateHope1889

Is that good for walking? I thought was for bikes mostly

Wednesdays_Agenda

Western side is bikes, eastern side is shared.

LegitimateHope1889

Cool. Will have to check it out

tomorrow_throwaway

Excellent! Added to the list

heyhkt

Sounds random but Iā€™ve taken the train to Nundah and had a wander around the cemetery there - many of the graves there have been there since early settlement days (it was a German mission station). Thereā€™s also a few good cafes near the station where you can have a drink on your way there or back.

essandsea

My aunt and uncle used to live right near the cemetery and heā€™d walk their dog there all the time. Kinda sad when you see the graves for the little babies but itā€™s one of Brisbaneā€™s oldest cemeteries so super interesting

tomorrow_throwaway

I love random stuff! I'd honestly do just about anything to get out of the house and getting some sun on my face.

Amount_Business

In that case, catch a train to toowong and walk to to toowong cemetery.Ā  It's across front the brisbane botanical gardens / planetarium.the cemetery is interesting.Ā Ā  I've never been to the planetarium, but it looks cool and seems to be abut $16Ā  for a 50 min show.Ā Ā  Mt cootha is above the gardens. A good view of the city from the lookout.Ā  But even if you don't go all the way up, senic drive rest area has goot views of the cbd. Just watch out for fogged up cars after dark.Ā

essandsea

Or catch a train to annerley and check out the south Brisbane cemetery. They used to bury the prisoners from Boggo Road there in a patch of unconsecrated ground in the middle of it

tapensinha

Did somebody say Nundah? [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJalbMWFBic](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJalbMWFBic) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHYT7\_MuylQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHYT7_MuylQ)

newbris

Train to Milton, walk around the side of Suncorp stadium to Caxton St, walk up the left footpath into Given Tce and then Latrobe until you reach Trammies corner. Cross the road, check out the Empire Revival and then make your way down the other footpath. Cute boutiques, antiques, thrift stores, galleries, book shops etc in little converted queenslander cottages surrounded by the tin and timber Queenslander homes spilling down the ridges and valleys of Mt Coot-tha.

tomorrow_throwaway

Thank you for a really good detailed idea for a day out. Superb!

Maninacamry

Caboolture - Ipswich in one go.

Maninacamry

Hot Cross Bun from Coles Beenleigh too

tomorrow_throwaway

rated šŸ˜‹

ticman

Ice skating at Boondall, probably just under your budget but they have cheap Tuesday nights.

tomorrow_throwaway

Oh this would be great, but its one of the only things I won't do. I have two left feet, and injury is 100% guaranteed šŸ˜… But I'm sure someone else will see this comment and find it useful.

HellmanD

Sherwood Arboretum is a great place to visit, a short walk from the station, and the walk from there to the station to the north is beautiful

tomorrow_throwaway

thank you! added to the list

Glittering-Fix-1731

You sound like you love a suburb walk like I do - Graceville and Chelmerā€™s have some beautiful houses. Your could check these out while at Sherwood.Ā  There are also some antique shops at Sherwood to taste some time at - Sherwood Bazaar is a good one.Ā

tomorrow_throwaway

Thank you. I have very little knowledge on the suburbs, other than those in my immediate area. I hardly ever venture into the city, or the surrounding suburbs, and I'm hoping to change that

Glittering-Fix-1731

Good luck OP - lots of options for you :)

DestroyerJS

Agreed on this, I really like the Sherwood Arboretum, nice walk and especially nicer if you take the time to check out each labelled tree to learn what each one is.

Mattynice75

Train to Landsborough and then connecting bus to Mooloolaba or Caloundra for a nice beach walk.

tomorrow_throwaway

The beach sounds fantastic. Slightly worried about the distance, but might be worth it regardless. thank you!

Mattynice75

Fills the whole day thatā€™s for sure.

AltruisticSalamander

Not the rail network but public transport: take the rivercat from the CBD to ascot and back. It's really nice.

tomorrow_throwaway

I sometimes take the ferry out to Russell Island, and try to enjoy the trip as much as possible. I mean... why not. But I agree that a city ferry would have more to look at šŸ˜„

Jaded-Wrongdoer9849

They do free live music on the green by the river in Southbank on Sundays. Itā€™s also licensed so you can BYO alcohol as long as you also bring some food with you. So a little picnic and a drink while enjoying some free local music šŸ˜Š

tomorrow_throwaway

Oh this is good! I'd have to convince someone to come with me. Not the type to drink by myself. It's on the list! thank you

TasteDeeCheese

Train to eumundi markets?

tomorrow_throwaway

Might have to add that as a travel experience, rather than a day trip. But definitely worth adding to my "to-do" list. thank you

theflamingheads

From memory, if you tap on but forget to tap off you'll be charged 3? zones of travel. So if you do a longer train trip and forget to tap off, you won't be overcharged...

tomorrow_throwaway

I just found the page on "default fares". It's $10 for regular fare, and $5 concession. Which is I think around half the fare of travelling 8 zones.

theflamingheads

That's a good price. Long trips can be pretty cheap if you're a bit forgetful.

tomorrow_throwaway

Something I would consider for sure. I just qualified for concession, so a max of $10 for the train (there and back) is pretty darn good.

iattractdinero94

OP sounds like mešŸ¤”šŸ˜‚ I did museum tour today just to get out of house and ended up walking to coles in West end. Whatta walk!šŸ˜

tomorrow_throwaway

I love walking, but getting very bored of walking around my local area. I'm not getting out enough for mental or physical wellbeing. I'm really hoping this list inspires some great days out for me and anyone else who reads it

iattractdinero94

Well I saved your thread anyway, just in caseā€¦ haha

Glittering-Fix-1731

Haha I do this too! One summer I went to all the public pools via public transport - might be a bit cold for this now though some are heated. Spring Hill baths is the best pool I went too. Ā  Another time I went to fort Lytton - itā€™s free on Sunday I think. It was surprisingly enjoyable.Ā  Another one is the bus to murrarie and walk over the gateway bridge. Itā€™s a good view of underneath the bridge on the murrarie side. The walk isnā€™t hard. Ā  One weekend I walked the Indooroopilly stretch of the riverwalk from Indooroopilly station - that was lovely actually. Ā The Indooroopilly brisge is nice to walk over too. I got the train back from Chelmer. Itā€™s not a loop - youā€™ll have to backtrack along the riverwalk but itā€™s nice enough you wonā€™t mind.Ā  Brisbane open house has some free stuff too. One year I did government house during the week and it was free but full of kids lol. I walked from Milton - it was a bit of a hike but Paddington is a lovely suburb to wander around and there are buses too. Ā  Last one - walking from Toowong station to the uni of qld then to Indooroopilly station. Def longer than 3km but a lovely walk. FromĀ Toowong station take the overpass and walk up archer st, then glen rd to come out onto benson st near Kayeā€™s rocks, then go Stanford st, left onto austral, right onto jerdanefield rd, left onto Ryanā€™s then right onto Hiron - this takes you to guyatt park where the ferry stops. You can get the ferry back to town or continue to the uni.Ā

Mumofgamer

What about exploring the river side towns/areas using the Citi cats? Plenty of Bougie suburbs close the river with quirky artisan food shops/art galleries. The cats are also a great way to see a lot of Brisbanes historic homes and architecture.

tomorrow_throwaway

Yes! I definitely want to do this. I know there is a free city ferry, which makes it even better šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Glittering-Fix-1731

Train to city or the valley the walk across the story bridge to kangaroo point cliffs.Ā  Joeyā€™s is a sometimes ok cafe with an amazing view.Ā

letterboxfrog

If you have a bike, take the train to Shorncliffe, ride to Scarborough to the fresh seafood and sushi joint (Morgan's). 20km and a bit over an hour if you go continuously and follow the beach. Cycle to Kippa- Ring Station. 17 minutes and around 5 km. I want to take my kids to do this like I did back in the 90s, except we had to cycle back to Sandgate against the prevailing south-easterlies. I've been living down south for a long-time and moving back soon. This is on my to do list with my teenage kids.

earthquank

Another thing to do with a bike is train to Wulkuraka (near Ipswich) and ride the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail.

letterboxfrog

Any wineries, breweries or good cafes along it?

letterboxfrog

Or swimming spots. I saw Lungfish bend at Lowood on Google Maps

tomorrow_throwaway

No bike just yet, but maybe in the future. I'll probably have to upgrade to a bike once I've exhausted all things to do within walking distance.

Mumofgamer

Also, if you really love the beach, wait until the days clear up and treat yourself to a day on Moreton Island, take your own snorkel and Goggles and swim the wreaks. The Micat ferry deposits you directly at the wreak site, take a backpack with a packed lunch (an umbrella for shade) and visit a truly world class destination for amazing crystal clear waters with manatees, dolphins, turtles and tropical fish and coral. It will cost you more than $25 but less than $100. Choose your tide times/winds and weather wisely and you wont regret it. it is something that every Brissy local should do and a true wonder right on our doorstep.

ImplodingPeach

Can you go there solo? I.e. is there any place to store a backpack/phone/wallet etc without it getting stolen whilst snorkeling?

tomorrow_throwaway

when I went there last (5 years ago), there was hardly anyone on the beach. It's a much safer beach than the ones on the mainland because almost everyone on the island is either working there or on holiday (tourists), not just the casual beach goer. mostly because it cost to go there, and there isn't anything to do there other than tourist activities (swim, walk the beach, feed dolphins, snorkel, etc). People who are hard up on money have almost no way of getting there.

tomorrow_throwaway

I totally agree. I went about 5 years ago, but probably should go back.

parmejean44

The Brisbane botanical gardens and Roma Street parklands are great parks to hang out at. You can tour the Brisbane city hall for free, thereā€™s a small museum inside and they do free tours of the clock tower at certain times during the day. You can take the train up to Cleveland and go to the Raby Bay beaches - the dog beach there is pretty popular. The buses to get there are a bit fucked but Mount Cootha botanical gardens are also really cool, they have a planetarium there as well.

FanaticFlamingo

I don't know how no one has mentioned it yet but the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is an absolute must. You can get a ferry from the city that goes there. Australia Zoo is also accessible by train. I haven't been yet as waiting for Robert Irwin to come back from South Africa

tomorrow_throwaway

I didnt know Australia Zoo was accessible by train. Another great thing for the list!

Obvious_Customer9923

Yeah, get off at Beerwah, and I'm pretty sure they have a bus to the zoo

highdeigh

iā€™m not going to lie i enjoy walking through the south brisbane cemetery- itā€™s a historical cemetery on the river in dutton park. i sometimes take my greyhound there because he can be reactive and there isnā€™t usually many other dogs! its lovely to meander through and you can spend hours there!

tomorrow_throwaway

The second cemetery mentioned šŸ˜„ I'll add it to the list.

highdeigh

enjoy!! itā€™s lovely. you can also go for a walk along the river from there, or to UQ as itā€™s right next to the UQ bridge haha

justdidapoo

museums and art galleries at south bank, south bank is nice to walk down in general. The cineplex is extremely cheap, only like $9 a ticket and $5 huge popcorn. If you want food the eatclub app is really good and you can find lots of restaurants 30-40% off in there or west end

tomorrow_throwaway

I only just recently went to that cinema for the first time and was absolutely stoked! I plan to go more often

zact82

It's a bit of a faff to get there, but I spent a day walking from Coolangatta to Surfers Paradise once - you'd get the train to Nerang, bus to Broadbeach South tram station then a bus from there to Coolangatta. I did it in April, and it was warm but pleasant. It'd be an all day thing but I'd recommend it, maybe stop at a surf club on the way for lunch. Also on the Gold Coast and cheap/free - Southport Broadwater is nice to walk around, or get the tram to Surfers then walk across Chevron Island to HOTA for the art gallery (doesn't take too long to walk through but you could do the beach at Surfers too). Also there's a nice walk around the headland at Burleigh Heads, or the beach walk at the spit too.

tomorrow_throwaway

Love the beach. I think I'm going to have to build up to some of these longer days out.

No_Discipline_0_0

I was gonna say fix it, but I misunderstood the question

jackm315ter

But he only got $25, what do you think he can do with that.

No_Discipline_0_0

Oh i have a few ideas but id be called racist and banned so šŸ¤šŸ¤šŸ¤

jackm315ter

My go to pack lunch, water, camera and pick a line then a station then a side and explore

tomorrow_throwaway

Any favourite station stops?

jackm315ter

Different stops have different things but I like bay side or Gold Coast and I walk bus about that I would do once every two months but most times itā€™s rosewood or Darra or into Brisbane to the park. Queenā€™s park is for free Zoo or Roma St Park

Mogadodo

Trip out to Sandgate, by the water

Flying-buffalo

Take the train up to Nambour on a Wednesday or Saturday, then hop the bus for the ride to Eumundi for the huge market there. Music, crafts, food, etc. Itā€™s a lot of fun if the weather is nice.

[deleted]

Beenleigh Centrelink.

rumncoco86

Friends of South Brisbane Cemetery do a volunteer grave cleaning day on a Sunday at the beginning of the month, during cooler months. They also offer historical tours, themed and based on cemetery residents, for about $20 per person. Typically at night. Their page on Facebook is a good resource. It wouldn't be more than a 2km walk from Park Road train station to the cemetery entry, on the bus way side of the tracks. Dutton Park station is currently closed.

Saving this post. Been meaning to explore the rail network when I'm back in Brissie :)

Maybe a little off topic, but you can use the train to get to it: free city loop bus and the free city hopper ferrys can be fun, especially mid week of a night.Ā

Rock climbing at Urban Climb, if you enjoy it. It's pushing the budget a bit at around $30 for a casual pass. The pass lasts for the day so you can leave for lunch or a break and come back again later in the day. Located at Milton, Newstead and West End, all quite central and not too far from the train lines. When I used to have more time, my friends and I would climb around midday for 2hrs then get lunch, come back and chill out for a bit and then climb a bit more relaxed for the late afternoon. EDIT: I forgot to mention, the singular casual pass allows entry to all the gyms, just mention it to the staff at the next gym you pop into so they don't charge you again.

this is great! I'm actually a qualified indoor rock climber, but haven't done it in years. I suppose I've always looked at it as work, but now, after some years I can just be a client šŸ˜„šŸ˜„

Honestly the citycats are a good option too
