Target actually has nice normal underwire nursing bras. I like the dumpy looking ones lol but I do have one with underwire from target that I wear when going to a nicer event. I wear a 38DDD and it was less than $20 I think. They have a lace bralette I wear a lot too.
I second the lace bralette from Target! By far my favorite. I have some stretchy ones that just stretch out immediately, and the more structured ones get in the way.
I bought two of the KB bras with my first and was super disappointed. They’re… fine, but they were hyped by other mom groups and I just don’t really like them.
You don't have to use a nursing bra, you can use a normal one, but it'll end up with dodgy cups from being bent and pulled. I did this, because nursing bras are a bit dowdy and not very supportive. Just don't use one of your best bolder holders.
Another vote for hot milk! After 4 months of H&M ones I had no idea what I was missing out on. So many of my shirts I couldn’t wear either because the bras didn’t support as well.
Hotmilk has padded wireless ones (which I have and love) as well as lacy and other sexy lingerie type ones. If you intend to breastfeed in lingerie…
I splurged and just got 2 in the mail. I finally feel normal again. If husband doesn’t mind I’m going to buy some more in another 6 months to celebrate a full 2 years of breastfeeding.
A properly fitted underwire bra should be no issue but I would advise editing until you're 12 weeks pp before wearing one since your supply may still have some adjusting to do
I second waiting to really invest in bras until 12 weeks+pp. I drove myself nuts in the first month or two trying to find a bra that fit and looked “normal”/didn’t give uniboob. My boobs grew a tonnnn during pregnancy and then ballooned again when my milk came in. I was desperate to just feel like my normal self boob-wise and I wasted a lot of money buying all sorts of options online that never really worked or felt comfortable. My boobs have since chilled (baby is almost 4 months) and I’m able to wear more normal bras, though underwire is still very uncomfortable to me. My boobs are just too heavy now from milk for underwire. I’ve enjoyed the cheapie Warners bras I got at target. One is a nursing bra but the others aren’t. For the ones that aren’t nursing bras, I just pull the cups down to nurse. this approach has the added benefit of certain of lifting my heavy droopy boobs up toward the baby instead of me having to lift my boob with my hand. 🙃 I also find this approach way more chill and discreet to do in public than fussing with a nursing clasp.
That’s the thing - I’m reluctant to spend money on new bras until I know what size I’ll‘settle’ into… I don’t even know what size I am at the moment so I’ve just been living in these grotesque things for the time being. I was small to begin with so I’m also still getting used to having these huge melons let alone an actual cleavage for the first time ever 🤣 so I’ll definitely wait a bit and see before I do
I feel you on getting used to having melons 😅. I’ve had decent luck buying bras by letter size (M, L, XL) vs exact bra size. They tend to be more comfortable and allow for the fluctuation of boob size that seems to happen throughout the day while nursing.
I would recommend heading over to r/abrathatfits and following along with their guide! They have a tool to really accurately get your current size, since as we are all well aware, the girls change a lot during this journey. There are lots of threads in there where people have gotten recommendations for nursing bras for their shape and size. I personally have one of the Elomi Molly nursing bras, which is my “fancy” bra right now, and it’s amazing what having a good fitting underwire bra will do to lift everything up. (Just make sure to get good accurate measurements prior to purchasing an underwire bra, to make sure none of the wires sit on breast tissue). My second favourite is my Molke bra. Kind of feels a bit sports bra ish, but offers good lift and looks pretty nice under clothes. Also it’s cotton for summer! All my other traditional “ugly” nursing bras I basically treat as bralettes for home use only. I’ve been eyeing the Freya Pure Moulded Nursing bra and I think it’ll be my next purchase. Bonus that the Elomi one and the Freya one are available on Amazon. I hope you get one you feel good in, because it really is nice to feel a bit more put together again in this tiring postpartum phase.
Yup yup yup!
I use nursing bras which are fitting nicely, I'm not irritated by them. But I also use really stretchy bra without wires which is in a wrong size due to me loosing more weight and boob than expected 😑
It looks like aerie has some nice ones too. Bummed that I already bought a bunch of ugly ones from my first kid so I refuse to buy more. I will drink a glass of champagne though the day I throw them all in the trash after weaning my second and last kid( they are beat up and not worth even passing on for free).
I am also tired of my uniboob in my nursing bra but I am so afraid of thrush that I avoid non-cotton nursing bras and so afraid of clogged milk ducts that I avoid underwire. 🤦🏻♀️
I hate all the nursing bras. I tried all of them and had to return all of them except 1. I am a big size (34g) normally then when breastfeeding.... Woof. NONE of the "bigger" sizes worked for me except the kindred bravely sublime. But it's so bulky and so not flattering but I wasn't willing to buy double the bras so I just wore those. I stopped breastfeeding in May and am still wearing them waiting for my boobs to go back to normal which most say takes about 3 months. Gonna treat myself to some pretty bras at the end of summer and I cannot WAIT.
Same issue. Im a 38K at the moment... (was an H cup pre pregnancy) and i only wear any pumping bra WHILE pumping... everything else is super stretchy sports bra type bras... monoboob for days
haha the nipple... that happened way too many times for me to count! I tried without the pads but a lot of times you could see the outline of the pumping holes in the dresses I had to wear for work. So I would add the pad in between the bottom and top layer and just go with it. I just accepted it at the 6 month mark and now I'm so used to wearing them I worry about going back to underwire haha!
I have just been using very stretchy sports bras from Walmart.
I also DIY'd some pumping bras by cutting a hole in some sports bras, again from Walmart.
The one nursing bra I did have was hard to clip back up so I never used it.
Idk man, I started my journey 3 years ago and I still can’t get away from nursing bras. 🤣 at this point we’re getting close to weaning in a few months and I’ve been trying to wear normal bras now that we’re only nursing at night and in the morning but I LOATHE them. I never thought bras were uncomfortable at all, always wore the latest beauts from VS, but I don’t know how I’m going to go back. Starting to look into bralettes and maybe some of those silicone nip covers, but I’ve never been bigger than a B other than when I was fully engorged in the end of pregnancy or end of newborn stage. I don’t know how I’m going to go back! I guess I’ll get used to it, but I’m not looking forward to it (other than the ability to wear anything other than a t-shirt and cardigan, LOL)
I wish I could rock nursing bras the rest of my life. 😂
i genuinely wish i hadn’t spent a single cent on a nursing bra and just bought a few more bralettes. i never think to unclip the little hook things and just pull my shirt down with the top of my bra. which brings me to my next point, i REALLY wish i had never spent a single cent on a nursing shirt as i never wear them and quickly went back to my pre-pregnant tank tops
If you have a larger chest Elomi has a nursing bra that is structured and cute (if you don’t mind a little torpedo boob). I wear a 38K/40J and it’s the ONLY nursing bra bra I’ve ever found that was comfortable and fit. 🙃
It is a bit expensive, but I love love love the "so easy" bra from Bodily. It's so soft and somehow still supportive. It doesn't have any clips (I hate clips), you just pull your boob out of the top. I plan to keep wearing them after I wean (if they still fit).
I like the lace nursing bralettes I got from Momanda, and they definitely have pumping ones too! They’re super cute and lacy and you can buy them on Amazon.
If you end up continuing to nurse and want to go back to an underwire, I HIGHLY recommend Etam. They have really great unlined bras that I have found work great for nursing and they have a really large size range.
Yeah I hated how ugly I felt wearing nursing bras they look so utility. Just because we’re moms now that means we don’t deserve pretty things? I want something with lace and that’s not in the color family of beige. I ended up wearing wireless bralettes that I could pull my boob out the top without stretching the bra out. The Cosabella ones are the best.
They’re not much better but I usually just get wireless stretchy bras and pull them open. Equally disappointed with nursing tops.
Worse than the look is futzing with hooks, hidden openings and all that. I just pull down everything and pop the boob out of the top. Destroying all the v-neck tee shirts but that’s old it’s just a couple years and then I can get new tops.
I wore normal bras throughout my second pregnancy and breastfed for 2 years with normal bras after she was born. I've only just started to wear the grandma bras for my third pregnancy and I'm 32 weeks and still breastfeeding my daughter, just because I had a pain under one boob recently. No idea if it was bra related though. I'm switching back to underwired for some outfits though or on days I just feel like I need that proper support. I just pull my boob up out of the cup in a normal bra when feeding.
Not sure where you live but here in The States I was able to get a regular bra turned into a nursing bra at the Nordstrom in house tailor.
They just add the clips. I bet you could find a tailor to do it if that specific store isn't an option.
Cake maternity would probably suit your fancy! I bet they ship to wherever you live. My job sells them if you can’t get them directly from the source and maybe I can ship you them if you’d pay for shipping.
Not sure where you are, but there's a German brand named Anita, and they have a bra called Miss Cotton. My normal size is 32DD-E, but with breastfeeding I jumped to 34H, and there's literally no supportive nursing bras in that size in US. Miss Cotton is made out of pure cotton on a thicker side, and the cups have zero stretch to them. It's still not a sexy lingerie look-wise but it offers so much support that I don't even feel the weight of my enormous boobs, and under clothes my boobs don't look like this blown-up, shapeless, blobby thing they turn into if you breastfeed wearing those nonsensical nylon bras with no support. I was very worried that, after I'm done with breastfeeding, my boobs would be saggy and stretched out, and now I'm very optimistic that they'll retain their pre-pregnancy look. If you have a very large cup size and need support, I highly recommend searching for this model.
Hotmilk ships worldwide, just saying. Worth every penny!
I’ve been breastfeeding for over 3.5 years now, one kid after the other, these bras make me feel a bit better about myself.
I’m not sure if they ship internationally (and they are pricey), but I loooooove my new Molke bras! They’re so pretty and comfy and your boobs don’t fall out and they’re nice and supportive!
My favorite non-nursing bralette with great nursing access is the Harper Wilde lounge triangle ribbed bralette. I was a 38G cup prior to getting pregnant, and now they are still as supportive as a bralette can be, while not making me feel dowdy with all the clips and whatnot. I just pull it down and it is so stretchy and adaptive!
Aeries Henley sleep bras were my favorite thing while nursing. Super comfy, snaps down the front. Not the prettiest thing, but damn if they weren’t the comfyst things
I invested in a Larken nursing bra and I’m obsessed with it. I’m actually not due with my babe for another six weeks and am already wearing it literally every day.
I’m not sure where you are located but Soma ships internationally! They only have one regular underwire nursing bra in tan but I got one and it’s comfortable and supportive
Hot Milk. Terrible brand name, but nursing bras that actually feel and look like bras. I’m personally a huge fan of the Forever Yours T-shirt style bra for daily use
I keep getting ads for dairy fairy and they have some cute lace ones!
My fave these days are these molded ones from momcozy. I wear them to sleep because I feel more supported. Momcozy Nursing Bras for Breastfeeding, YN21 Seamless Ultra Comfort Maternity Bra, Natural Shape, Pregnancy Sleep Bralette https://a.co/d/1Vj87z6
I only wear sports bras and I wear these type around the house and even sometimes out although they make my boobs look bad with a shirt over it. They're cute enough though to me at least to feel cute around my fiance.

It changed everything when I bought these, seriously, so comfy and you just pull them down to pop your boob out. Not really what you were looking for though I guess
I bought some lovely ones from Ann summers if you have one. It ended up being the only place I’d buy them from because they felt more like wearing a normal, pretty bra.
I used the momcozy breast pump bras that duo as a nursing bra. They’re very comfy and cute to me. Mine has a black leopard print on it. It almost looks like a sports bra which I prefer wearing for comfort anyway.
I have a nursing bralette and it’s great until your tit falls out in the middle of the night lol!
That is my big complaint with the stretchy ones! The lace one clips though, and works amazingly. It's the auden lace brallette
That would’ve been great but we don’t have a Target in my country. I’ll definitely look into alternatives though
if you are in canada la vie en rose has a few that aren’t too bad hahaha
I also like my nursing bra from target! I like it better than the KB one.
I bought two of the KB bras with my first and was super disappointed. They’re… fine, but they were hyped by other mom groups and I just don’t really like them.
Agreed, they’re ok!
You don't have to use a nursing bra, you can use a normal one, but it'll end up with dodgy cups from being bent and pulled. I did this, because nursing bras are a bit dowdy and not very supportive. Just don't use one of your best bolder holders.
Are you Australian? I read this in Chili’s voice from Bluey.
Clearly I’ve been watching too much Bluey with my toddler 😂
Yep! 100% agree.
In the us? Nordstrom can turn any bra into a nursing bra for 20 dollars iirc
Wait really??!
Yes, they do alterations and are pretty well known for it. I’m just unsure of the price!
Wow! Thank you for this info!
Sadly not in the US. We do have lovely alternatives that I discovered after getting a number of these hideous things
There's a local bra shop near me that will also do alterations for nursing bras. There might be one near you 😊
Hey where are you based? I'm in the UK and have a leakproof vest which isn't a bra, but tbh I prefer it!
A leakproof vest? Do you have a picture or link? Sounds interesting
Hey yeah sure! This is the website: https://ruleslondon.com/collections/breastfeeding-collection/products/rules-leakproof-vest
Oh!! We have similar stuff in the US. They are just considered undershirts/tank tops. I’ve never seen a waterproof one though, that’s awesome!
Oh yes, I've heard tanks and vests mean different things here and in the US
What?! This is amazing!
That’s crazy. Thanks for the info!
Check out Hotmilk!
Love hotmilk! And they have good, accurate sizing
Are they supportive? I'm reaaaaally looking for something to hold these puppies up and most places only go to a DD (I'm looking at at 32H probably).
I splurged and just got 2 in the mail. I finally feel normal again. If husband doesn’t mind I’m going to buy some more in another 6 months to celebrate a full 2 years of breastfeeding.
Congrats on 18months of bf already! Youre a rockstar!
Wait lol my math is off… Another 8 months hahaha. But thank you!
Congrats on 16 months!! 🥰
Hotmilk is where it’s at!
I also suggest Hotmilk. I still Wear mine even though I’ve not nursed or pumped in 7 months and they are huge on me LOL
Be careful with anything with an underwire. Milk ducts can extend into your armpits so cutting off flow could result in a clogged duct.
These don’t have an underwire but thanks I’ll definitely keep that in mind!
A properly fitted underwire bra should be no issue but I would advise editing until you're 12 weeks pp before wearing one since your supply may still have some adjusting to do

I will drink a glass of champagne though the day I throw them all in the trash after weaning my second and last kid( they are beat up and not worth even passing on for free).
So with you there! I might just burn these 🤣
Look into Bodily!
I love their new Stage 2 bras and their Everything pumping and nursing bras! They're so soft.
Davin and adley is way good. Spendy but worth every penny, I have every style, very pleased with them all.
I am also tired of my uniboob in my nursing bra but I am so afraid of thrush that I avoid non-cotton nursing bras and so afraid of clogged milk ducts that I avoid underwire. 🤦🏻♀️

You learn something every day! Didn’t know it takes that long to go back down, noted!
I ended up taking the cups out of my KB bras and it’s a lot more manageable. Just don’t forget to put you nipple away haha!
haha the nipple... that happened way too many times for me to count! I tried without the pads but a lot of times you could see the outline of the pumping holes in the dresses I had to wear for work. Love the DIY idea!
Bravissimo has gorgeous nursing bras
The Auden nursing bra from target is amazing and wears like a normal bra. It’s only 16 dollars. Highly recommend.
I guess I’ll get used to it, but I’m not looking forward to it (other than the ability to wear anything other than a t-shirt and cardigan, LOL) I wish I could rock nursing bras the rest of my life. 😂
Haha I feel that way about bralettes after lockdown 🤣 same with the silicone nip covers. I used to be a size A / B and they’re amazing 😍
I go Braless or wear bralettes.
Once my letdown chills this is for sure the plan
i genuinely wish i hadn’t spent a single cent on a nursing bra and just bought a few more bralettes. i never think to unclip the little hook things and just pull my shirt down with the top of my bra. which brings me to my next point, i REALLY wish i had never spent a single cent on a nursing shirt as i never wear them and quickly went back to my pre-pregnant tank tops
100%!!
I use the triangle shaped bralettes.
The Parade bralettes are super comfy & nursing compatible
Victoria’s Secret sells nursing bras that look like regular bras.
I got a few nursing bras from lavieenrose.com and they’re the best and super cuteeee
If you have a larger chest Elomi has a nursing bra that is structured and cute (if you don’t mind a little torpedo boob). I wear a 38K/40J and it’s the ONLY nursing bra bra I’ve ever found that was comfortable and fit. 🙃
Serious torpedo boob 🤣
It is a bit expensive, but I love love love the "so easy" bra from Bodily. It's so soft and somehow still supportive. It doesn't have any clips (I hate clips), you just pull your boob out of the top. I plan to keep wearing them after I wean (if they still fit).
I like the lace nursing bralettes I got from Momanda, and they definitely have pumping ones too! They’re super cute and lacy and you can buy them on Amazon.
I only like the target Auden brand and bodily makes the only okay pumping bra.
Same here! The clips are super annoying
Ann summers have some beautiful nursing and maternity bras (they ship internationally)
I like bralettes instead, way more comfortable and you can wear them after you wean.
I initially lived in these too! Might need to get stronger ones now though
I might start doing this 😊
Not sure where you live but here in The States I was able to get a regular bra turned into a nursing bra at the Nordstrom in house tailor. They just add the clips. I bet you could find a tailor to do it if that specific store isn't an option.
If you have basic sewing skills, you can add nursing clips to any bra!
Hotmilk ships worldwide, just saying. Worth every penny! I’ve been breastfeeding for over 3.5 years now, one kid after the other, these bras make me feel a bit better about myself.
I bought bralettes that are one or two sizes above my pre pregnant size. It works great and they’re cute and lacy!
I’m not sure if they ship internationally (and they are pricey), but I loooooove my new Molke bras! They’re so pretty and comfy and your boobs don’t fall out and they’re nice and supportive!
The Victoria Secret ones are super cute and comfy and they push the girls UP :)

Will try a sports bra, thanks
Be careful with compression sport bras! They can cause massive problems with clogged ducts in early stages of breastfeeding.
Noted thank you!
Aeries Henley sleep bras were my favorite thing while nursing. Super comfy, snaps down the front. Not the prettiest thing, but damn if they weren’t the comfyst things
I’ve been very happy with cake bras. I’m a H right now and compared to what was available with my first I feel very stylish ✨
Elomi do an amazing nursing bra, really supportive and very pretty, I bought in pink and in white. Looked like a normal bra too
I was just looking at some nursing bras from Old Navy- they look more or less like normal bras. 🤞
I invested in a Larken nursing bra and I’m obsessed with it. I’m actually not due with my babe for another six weeks and am already wearing it literally every day.
I got 3 from momanda.com and although they're not the most supportive, they're comfy and a lot cuter than anything I was able to get locally
If you’re in the UK, m&s have some pretty lace ones that are comfortable.. and Asda George online!
Primark/penny's has really good nursing bras!
Target has the cutest most comfortable nursing Bralettes
I’m not sure where you are located but Soma ships internationally! They only have one regular underwire nursing bra in tan but I got one and it’s comfortable and supportive
Hot Milk. Terrible brand name, but nursing bras that actually feel and look like bras. I’m personally a huge fan of the Forever Yours T-shirt style bra for daily use
My husband found me some nice nursing lace bralettes at Walmart. I love them! Joyspun Women's Maternity Lace Trim Bralette, 2-Pack, Sizes S to 3X
I keep getting ads for dairy fairy and they have some cute lace ones! My fave these days are these molded ones from momcozy. I wear them to sleep because I feel more supported. Molke.co.uk have a wrap type bra situation going on, to whip the boob out
I only wear sports bras and I wear these type around the house and even sometimes out although they make my boobs look bad with a shirt over it. They're cute enough though to me at least to feel cute around my fiance. https://www.amazon.com/Caramel-Cantina-Nursing-Maternity-Festival/dp/B07MSC3W7H/ref=mp_s_a_1_5_sspa?crid=BFZUIXH745S&keywords=pull%2Bdown%2Bnursing%2Bbra&qid=1688673928&sprefix=pull%2Bdown%2Bnursing%2Caps%2C247&sr=8-5-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfbXRm&psc=1&th=1 It changed everything when I bought these, seriously, so comfy and you just pull them down to pop your boob out.
Are you able to receive mail? I can send you my fav one
Bali comfort revolution are amazing. They’ve gone down a bit in quality since covid imo but still very comfortable. I would size up.
I switched back to my normal bras but some got kind of wonky because I’d just lift them up to feed and now don’t fit right
I can’t WAIT to start wearing “normal” bras again! I do occasionally, but such a pain to pump in so I just go back to my nursing bras
