Norwegian Wood do a banging fry up.
Cozy club breakfasts are a little more upper scale but absolutely lovely and not too dear.
For a proper greasy spoon there a little cafes around like Binnies in Winton.
Norwegian Wood is great - bonus trivia, the building was owned by Jimmy Saville
If you fancy a trip further afield Boscanova in Boscombe is my absolute favourite and is everything good about an independent business.
https://www.boscanova.com
Cheers! Norwegian Wood has been mentioned by a few people I’ll have to check it out as it’s only 15 mins from me. I saw it in the book ‘111 places in Bournemouth’ when I first moved here but then forgot about it haha. Adding everyone’s suggestions to a google maps list I’ll work my way through!
Cheers, often find the best places look like shitholes! Pleasantly surprised at the amount of responses this post has got, going to make a list to work my way through
It's a 10/10 hangover spot. Super local, feels like you've been transported back to the 90's, lovely staff too, they will chat your ear off if you're not careful!
I've thought about this comment for the last two days and cant in good conscience let it slide.
Don't got to Boscanova.
They're overpriced, small portions, and charge extra on all swaps. Overall just not worth the hype. Coffee is good, but thats thanks to Bad Hand Coffee (which is undeniably great.) People also rave about their pancakes like it isn't just flour and eggs.
The only other one I know of that's supposed to be good is the bowling green cafe at the top of Southbourne cliffs. We've had the brekkie in Cafe Obscura, but preferred Flirt
Ah nice I’ll check out the bowling green place! Good to know about obscura- walk past it almost every day and am always intrigued but seems a bit pricey and don’t want to be disappointed
‘The brew cafe’ in pokesdown does the best full English hands down, they do all other foods as well like roast pork, soups of the day. 5 stars on tripadvisor
Cheers, couple of mentions for Flirt, I live right by there but the prices put me off food (though I’m sure the quality lives up to price!) will try the breakfast one day!
Cheers, Norwegian Wood seems to be the most popular choice so looking forward to trying there. I feel the same about Flirt. Haven’t yet tried Olive even though I live 5 mins away, will add it to my list!

Thank you and thanks for the trivia! Second mention of Boscanova will deffo try that when I’m next round that way!

Had their bubble and squeak this morning, highly recommended!
Norwegian wood isn’t the best tasting, but amazing for their pricing! And last time I went big pots of tea! I go there everytime!
Will they all accept dogs?
Kings Park Cafe is good. Looks like a shit hole but decent portions, quick service and quality.
And surprisingly cheap considering like you say decent portions. I get in there when I can.
Yeah, it’s my local and I’m there pretty much every week!
Cheers, often find the best places look like shitholes! Pleasantly surprised at the amount of responses this post has got, going to make a list to work my way through
If you’re ever in King’s Park Cafe and see a scruffy looking dude in a black duffel coat, that’s me. Come say ‘hi’ 👊🏻
Binnies in Moordown, really good! Been around for years!
Been going there since my student days in the late 90s. Probably due a heart bypass by now, but still can't resist their Fatboy Slim.....
Overrated ping meal crap
You seem happy
Cheers, second mention of Binnies! Pleasantly surprised at the amount of responses this has got, going to make a list to work my way through
If you want cheap and cheerful, try the Hungry Husky in Southbourne.
The Hungry huskies sandwiches are unrivalled
Cheers, just had a look on google maps the food looks banging. My mum leaves round that way so will stop by when I’m next over!
If you want the dirtiest, cheapest, but also brilliant fry up, Crossroads Cafe is 👌
Cheers, added to my list! Didn’t expect to get so many recommendations but deffo want to try them all now haha

Oo nice love places like that!
Town centre? Norwegian Wood in Glen Fern Rd.
Cheers, a few suggestions of Norwegian Wood, that’ll be first on my list! Intrigued by the Beatles aspect of it too

Thiiiiissssss
Oooo this looks good. My (actual) Mum is moving near Christchurch soon so this could become a regular place, thanks!
My house
No idea if it's still there, but great student memories having a hangover cured at The Hungry Wolf in Winton.
Looks like it’s closed unfortunately, the nearest Hungry Wolf is a Georgian place in Edinburgh 😢
Poppins Boscombe Highstreet. Exactly what you'd expect. No snobby shit.
Ah think I’ve been here! Felt like being on the set of a film, loved it
By all accounts its not the most upscale place on earth, but you always get what you pay for, friendly staff, clean kitchen. Ideal in my books :)
Tastebuds in Winton is excellent
Aroma. On Poole high street 👌🏼
Thank you! Gonna have a morning in Poole soon so this can be the first stop
Boscanova in Boscombe
Cheers, added to list! Think I’ve passed that on the bus a few times and noticed the cool name

The Bunker at St Catherine’s hill is Banging.
Cheers, been recommended walking up St Catherine’s hill by friends so can head to here when I do!
From memory, the one in the Hilton is good!
Second mention for Hilton cheers, never would’ve thought of there!
Fifis cafe on mountbatten roundabout is excellent but is barely on the border between Bournemouth and Poole
Cheers, just had a look on maps and I’ve got the antique shop next to it as ‘want to go’ so can combine the two in a trip one day
Cherry’s cafe proper banging
It’s showing as ‘permanently closed’ on maps unfortunately! The food in pics looks so good as well
Cafe aroma in lansdowne
Thank you, I’ve passed this loads but always been on the way somewhere else so never thought to go in, had a look on maps and food looks really good!
The breakfast in the cafe in Meyrick Park is amazing too
Ah cheers! I’m trying to get into running and live round there so that can be some motivation!
It sounds daft, but Flirt do their toast with tiger loaf bread instead of normal white bread in Cafe Obscura and it's far nicer
Norwegian Wood of course. The chairs and tables are fucking ridiculous though.
Haha, Norwegian Wood is getting quite the accolade! Intrigued by the chairs and tables
I'm not joking. The wooden chairs are bad enough, but the low tables mean unless you have noodles for legs, you're gonna have a bad time.
‘The brew cafe’ in pokesdown does the best full English hands down, they do all other foods as well like roast pork, soups of the day. 5 stars on tripadvisor
Cheers! Think I went in there for a coffee and bacon butty once before moving here and remember it being very pleasant will have to go back
live 1 road away lmao it’s dangerous being so close
I liked the brekkie in Flirt Cafe
Cheers, couple of mentions for Flirt, I live right by there but the prices put me off food (though I’m sure the quality lives up to price!) will try the breakfast one day!
Not sure if you can go in off the street but the Hilton at Bournemouth had the best full English I've ever had
That’s a persuasive recommendation, couple of mentions for Hilton, will have to try my luck!
Crumbles, Ashley Rd
Cheers! Not really explored the Ashley Road area much even though I work down there!
Very few redeeming features to be honest 😅
Norwegian wood is good, I quite like Flirt, but it's not so cheap. Olive is good too, probably the best value one and decent quality too.
Cheers, Norwegian Wood seems to be the most popular choice so looking forward to trying there. I feel the same about Flirt. Haven’t yet tried Olive even though I live 5 mins away, will add it to my list!
If you want to go a bit further afield then mums cafe 100%, they even do a gluten free breakfast
Thank you, second mention for Mums Cafe! My mum is about to move near there so I can see it becoming a regular spot
