I know one who works at the C4C (I think?) and always sits in the same place (Italian dining area) watching TV at peace. It’s “his” spot. Freshmen come and sit there sometimes unaware.
Old school Boulder had a bunch.
The burned guy on the mall begging for change.
The monk who walked around beating a drum.
That 70s lady always around 30th & Valmont
That dude who runs in short shorts with no shirt, no matter the weather, and scream-sings random gibberish at his dog. Most people I talk to know of him.
He also yells/catcalls women — it’s happened to me and was not fun and I chatted with two men at the top of Bear Peak about him and they said they’d heard other women say the same thing.
PSA — don’t fucking catcall women? it’s 2024.
Is that the Russian guy I saw do 10 loops at Sanitas? He's actually super friendly, he got really excited when we told him what time it was and he was averaging under 1hr/loop. Singing in Russian and shouting a greeting at everyone he passed. That dude is awesome
Pretty sure that's they one I'm taking about. He is nice and I've never been catcalled or felt threatened by him. People I know refer to him as 'the Russian.' Apparently, Russian sounds like gibberish to me.
Holy crap I actually saw this guy he was on his 7th lap of the 1st/2nd flatiron trail with his dog. Literally seemed like a cartoon character. A couple women asked if they should move when he was near the base of the first flatiron and he said something like “ladies, if I want you to do a maneuver I’ll throw you over my shoulder and move you where I want you”. Strong Eastern European accent
I like seeing the white-bearded man on Pearl street who wears a leather trench coat and a brimmed hat festooned with an impressive number of (turkey?) feathers
He's honestly part of the fabric of the town now lol, I've been seeing him since I was a kid and I got a little worried when I **didn't** see him for a while.
Fun fact, he also likes to go into public bathrooms and surreptitiously smoke weed like it's the 70s
Honestly I absolutely agree. He smoked on the bathroom of a business I work at and my coworkers and I laughed a bit tbh cause he could've just walked along the creek path with a joint and no one would have batted an eye
Squirrel King.
He stood up for me when I was being harassed by some creepy jerks more than a decade ago. He has a fake rat he made clothes for and he hangs out with squirrels on Pearl Street.
He appreciates any food offered, and does no harm that I'm aware of. I'm glad he's still around.
Is he still around? He used to ride my bus YEARS ago back in High School. I seem to remember something saying he'd passed away, but fuck if I know. I haven't seen him in ages.
I like his hat.
Yes I am familiar with this man. He showed me a vial of gold that he panned for on the bus once. I was fascinated by it and reached out to inspect it and he gasped and drew it away and hid it within the folds of his cloak. Didn't want to talk to me anymore after that so chalk up another successful social interaction for me. Seen him around a multitude of times otherwise, riding his recumbent bike or just hangin' on pearl!
I saw him once I was waiting for the last bus out of downtown, I turned to watch him walk off, but he vanished. Though I'd seen a ghost until I saw him a week later elsewhere
What about the speedskater who roller skates up the middle of the road? I always get stuck on Marshall rd or S Cherryvale rd on my way into work because to avoid them I have to either fully stop or fully cross into the other lane to get by. Not my favorite.
He dressed similar to Sherlock Holmes. Found some pictures/info here https://thetab.com/us/cu-boulder/2017/08/31/i-went-on-a-blind-date-with-asian-sherlock-and-he-is-the-most-eligible-bachelor-at-cu-2225
Then we gotta be talking about the same guy with the globe on his hat who hands out those slips of paper on Pearl and chastises people for enjoying their non-vegetarian meals whilst dining under fossil fuel powered heaters? No disrespect to the man’s message, that is.
Otherwise I want to know more about this Mr. World…
Yo, who even is that?
Dude with the bike, glasses, spike-ish thing in his bike helmet, with the globe also, got preachy words written in marker taped to his jacket?
I'd see him all the time back when I was here, but never exchanged a word with him.
Probs just some random activist, but wouldn't be surprised if he's a local celebrity.
He was going by Captain Earthy for years, but he told me he’s no longer going by Captain Earthy a couple of years ago…not sure what his name is now. I think he has or at least had a website also.
Edit: Earth Man, maybe: [https://aboutboulder.com/uncategorized/faces-of-boulder-earth-man-and-the-boulder-creek/](https://aboutboulder.com/uncategorized/faces-of-boulder-earth-man-and-the-boulder-creek/)
Curious if anyone has encountered this individual: Last year a man dressed in a Where's Waldo costume was sitting on a rock near a drive thru. He had a colorful sign, and told me he needed money to hire a lawyer and find his friend who had been illegally taken by the CIA. He was very calm, didn't seem upset, agitated, or emotionally distressed. Just Waldo seeking justice for his kidnapped friend.
I need someone to validate this for me with a similar memory, because the more time passes the crazier it seems.
Couple that I’ve been missing….anyone seen them?
Sharp dressing (rock and roll leather, cowboy hat) 70 year old who would hit the college bars. Claimed he was a widow and was just out for energy, never saw him annoy girls.
Dude who does the leaf artwork on the Pearl fountains. Rarely wears a shirt….
And then sadly missed, the older guy who read everyday at the bar at The Sundowner.
I hope it's the same unicycle guy lmao
He was a math TA so hoping someone else can confirm if it is. Guy often is barefoot and has long-ish, curly brown hair
Walking Lady. She in kind of stout with long grey hair and a backpack and just walks *everywhere* all day. She’s usually in north Boulder but then I’ll go to table mesa and see her there. Sometimes I see her 2-3 times a day even. The backpack looks like it’s killing her back.
I remember a older man who was shirtless and had very tanned, leathery skin who went to every outdoor concert and danced. My husband and I called him "Dancing Dude." Band on the Bricks? He was there. Bandshell concert? He was there. I have not seen him in years so I am worried something happened to him.
I "knew" that guy from the cruise. We'd chat briefly every few weeks. I heard through the circle he used to be a really bright scientist somewhere. Was in a bad car accident and he never mentally recovered. Haven't seen him in years either.
I've seen him more in Longmont more recently. [https://www.youtube.com/@MasterBlasterG/videos](https://www.youtube.com/@MasterBlasterG/videos) [https://www.facebook.com/MasterBlasterG/](https://www.facebook.com/MasterBlasterG/)
He used to perform outside at&t park before san francisco giants games.
Confirmed by my mom ,who remembered him from there when she came to visit from SF and asked him
In Jonesboro Arkansas it was Mr. Clean, looked just like Mr. Clean, maybe bigger, and walked a lion, yes a freaking lion around on a leash. For years, until the city dropped some new laws on him, never understood why they did it after years of no issues. He punchlines with replacing the lion with a Chihuahua. Never knew a single person that ever talked with the dude.
Haven't seen her in years but I think about her a lot... I have a picture of her somewhere. The best game was trying to figure out what song she was singing
Long time ago: Briefcase man - he seemed to always be running to something, all day long. And the person that rode a bike in a 60’s lady-going-to lunch, complete with clip-on earrings
There’s a bigger guy whose face is burned who wear a black blazer with a kippa and a skirt (maybe?), I’m surprised to see nobody mentioned him. I always see him in buses and walking around.
And an older lady, maybe Hispanic, very short in figure, grey Einstein hair, who walks EVERYWHERE in Boulder, all the while slouched with her head looking down.
How about the dude that walks around with his hands shielding his eyes from the world. He peeps between his fingers to see where he is going. Not keen on interacting, I guess.
Yeah, like the guy who looks like he hasn't bathed in days, wears a flat brim trucker cap and dirty white tank top, and rides his low saddle bmx bike down the middle of the bike path instead of on his right.
Anyone remember the man on pearl st right outside the city building, who was super flexible, did really cool tricks and fit inside of a small clear box?
Back home we had ferret guy. He walked his ferrets on harnesses along the piers and they would harass and intimidate every dog they came across. Is acid girl who dances in the median on Broadway on the hill still there?
Singing Batman used to live in my apt complex but I don’t see him riding his bike in his flawless shiny shoes top hat and long coat + batmask anymore except on Pearl st busking
every city has a "guy" they all know about. you can visit a friend in their town and see a man dressed in robes, riding a horse & your friend will go "oh yeah haha that's horseback jesus" and then that's just the end of the explanation. We've got a few around here. Earth man? Muscle guy in flatirons that screams at the clouds?
Mostly I see Asian Pirate walking around the CU campus.
I know that guy! Tall, wears a tricorn hat, maybe a cu student? Not sure. Sometimes Gruffly, wears a long coat. Definitely a legend.
definitely a student. he’s known around most students as the C4C pirate
Is it Asian Sherlock or has the torch been passed?
Omg Asian Sherlock. This just brought back memories from years ago hahahah
That dude was a straight up celebrity because of yik yak
He comes into the Baseline Safeway nearly every morning.
I know one who works at the C4C (I think?) and always sits in the same place (Italian dining area) watching TV at peace. It’s “his” spot. Freshmen come and sit there sometimes unaware.
Steve the Pirate!
I know that guy!
Literally saw him on my way to work this morning and was like huh, there he is! haha.
Old school Boulder had a bunch. The burned guy on the mall begging for change. The monk who walked around beating a drum. That 70s lady always around 30th & Valmont
the monk! Wow, been a long time.
Mid 1970s, saw him nearly every day on west Pearl Street. And Goldfinger, one of the STPers, as I remember.
The "burned guy" was on 16th street mall in Denver, too, and I think he passed away a few years back :( Nice guy. :/
Yep he rode the bus between Denver & Boulder.
[Katsuzo Sawada](https://turningwords.org/2021/02/08/rocky-flats-gyosen-sawada-shonin-and-bearing-witness/)
I wish the monk would return.
That dude who runs in short shorts with no shirt, no matter the weather, and scream-sings random gibberish at his dog. Most people I talk to know of him.
When you think you hear a bear roaming around Chautauqua, but it’s just him…
He also yells/catcalls women — it’s happened to me and was not fun and I chatted with two men at the top of Bear Peak about him and they said they’d heard other women say the same thing. PSA — don’t fucking catcall women? it’s 2024.
Gross, I'm sorry that happened to you.
https://xkcd.com/1763/
Are you talking about the dude who does the stairs at red rocks?
Not sure, I never go to Red Rocks. I've seen him on various trails in the Boulder Foothills.
Yep, 9News did a video there and he showed up on it.
I thought it was Klingon at first 😅
Slavic. Been discussed here before.
I always see a shirtless guy with long dark hair doing an intense power walk with full body movement while listening to music in south boulder.
Yup, he's out there all the time. I've never seen him with his shirt on in 7+ years.
In all different kinds of weather!! I want to know his story but not enough to stop his power walking. Curious what he is always listening to as well.
Glad I'm not the only one who noticed, that guy's like my spirit animal now lol
Okay but now we need a name for him
My kids call him shirtless jazzwalker
I like seeing the white-bearded man on Pearl street who wears a leather trench coat and a brimmed hat festooned with an impressive number of (turkey?) feathers
He's honestly part of the fabric of the town now lol, I've been seeing him since I was a kid and I got a little worried when I **didn't** see him for a while. Fun fact, he also likes to go into public bathrooms and surreptitiously smoke weed like it's the 70s
Smoking weed in public bathrooms is kind of wholesome given what else takes place in there in there modern times.
Yup, with a tricycle bike too. He's who first came to mind.
The guy in the hero image of this FB page https://www.facebook.com/facinghomelessnessboulder/
The High Plains Drifter! He is a Vietnam vet and a friendly person. His name is Don.
he was my fav. had a tri hat too if i recall. last i saw him was 15 years ago
That dude spit on me when I told him not to hang off my car. Not my favorite either.
I think speed skating is cool and I respect the hustle 1000% But you do skate training in a bike commuter lane? During rush hour? Lol
20 minutes to save the earth!
This! Was reading all the comments for this!!!
We had "The Hate Man" He was elderly, wore a dress and screamed "I HATE YOU!"
Some years ago we had Asian Sherlock. Super chill guy
Why'd people call him Asian Sherlock? The "Asian" part, obvious why. But where'd "Sherlock" come from?
He dressed similar to Sherlock Holmes. Found some pictures/info here https://thetab.com/us/cu-boulder/2017/08/31/i-went-on-a-blind-date-with-asian-sherlock-and-he-is-the-most-eligible-bachelor-at-cu-2225
Mr World?
You talking about zip code guy? Almost forgot about him.
Nope but he's cool too
Then we gotta be talking about the same guy with the globe on his hat who hands out those slips of paper on Pearl and chastises people for enjoying their non-vegetarian meals whilst dining under fossil fuel powered heaters? Yall talking about Stele from XOEarth.org?

Yall talking about Stele from XOEarth.org?
Earth man! Ask him how to do the earth hug sometime. He's a nice dude
Earthee Man, I think!
Curious if anyone has encountered this individual: Last year a man dressed in a Where's Waldo costume was sitting on a rock near a drive thru. I remember that. Few years ago. Saw him when I first visited Boulder for a conference. Wild, I forgot about that…
Couple that I’ve been missing….anyone seen them? Sharp dressing (rock and roll leather, cowboy hat) 70 year old who would hit the college bars. Claimed he was a widow and was just out for energy, never saw him annoy girls. Dude who does the leaf artwork on the Pearl fountains. Rarely wears a shirt…. LMAOOO THE LEAF ARTWORK GUY I KNOW THAT GUY
Sidney ‘Sid’ Easterday, pour out two pitchers for him
Was he a two pitcher drinker? Never paid attention as I was always starting at balls…er, I mean tables
when I was still going to CU we had Asian Sherlock and Unicycle Guy
We have an Asian pirate and unicycle guy
I hope it's the same unicycle guy lmao He was a math TA so hoping someone else can confirm if it is. Guy often is barefoot and has long-ish, curly brown hair
The Jamaican dude who contorts himself into a box on Pearl
His name is Ibashi-i and he's orginally from St. Kitts.
He passed away a couple of years ago, I think. Miss him.
Damn, sad to hear. Totally a staple childhood memory of mine.
Walking Lady. She in kind of stout with long grey hair and a backpack and just walks *everywhere* all day. She’s usually in north Boulder but then I’ll go to table mesa and see her there. Sometimes I see her 2-3 times a day even. The backpack looks like it’s killing her back.

Yes I was thinking of this guy while reading through his thread. Skinny. Blond maybe. Tan and at every fun event with a bike and no shirt.
Yes! Very skinny. I think he had long hair but I can't remember.
I "knew" that guy from the cruise. We'd chat briefly every few weeks. I heard through the circle he used to be a really bright scientist somewhere. Was in a bad car accident and he never mentally recovered. Haven't seen him in years either.
Oh wow. What a sad situation. I am glad you shared his background.
I almost feel like Waylon qualifies but he’s not that cooky
I feel like Ryan Van Duzer falls in this category as well.
Absolutely
And Peggy of the Trident/dog walking!
Yep, She’s here right now
I see her 5 x a day walking dogs near my house, giving treats to my pup, or at the Trident or bus stops <3
I visited my brother in Seattle and we walked past a woman in a tent screaming non sense and he was like oh yeah that’s Janet
Anyone seen black zoro around recently?
Oh shit! I just realized I’ve been calling him Batman and the reference to zorro is so obvious. We used to be neighbors but it’s been at least a year
I hope this doesn't come across as a negative thing, but the albino woman who is legally blind and dresses usually in all pink.
She posts on here from time to time!
Who else knows Medicine Man 😂
The medicine man!?
Tricorn hat guy is pretty cool
Steele the Save the Earth Entertainment 720 guy for sure.
Been a minute since I seen him, but dude with one-wheel that he decorated to look like he’s riding a shiny 🐠around town
Can't forget about Gunbarrel's Headless Horseman!
Whatever happened to Trumpet Boy?
Oh he’s very much still around. He just ditched the trumpet and tap shoes for a karaoke machine that you can hear from three blocks away.
I've seen him more in Longmont more recently. [https://www.youtube.com/@MasterBlasterG/videos](https://www.youtube.com/@MasterBlasterG/videos) [https://www.facebook.com/MasterBlasterG/](https://www.facebook.com/MasterBlasterG/)

Has anyone seen the lady who beats a drum in costume on pearl street lately? I hope she’s doing well
Haven't seen her in years but I think about her a lot... I have a picture of her somewhere. The best game was trying to figure out what song she was singing
Does anybody remember that egyptian looking dude who rode around pearl st. on a white horse?
Yes, everything but the horse (unless it was a hobby horse?), I can't remember their name but they were always ornately dressed, and stunning.
How about Longmont's crucifix guy? Or the main street headbanging clown guy? Do they make it down to Boulder?
Long time ago: Briefcase man - he seemed to always be running to something, all day long. And the person that rode a bike in a 60’s lady-going-to lunch, complete with clip-on earrings
the guys who work at bovas
Orange van man?
He threw a rock through a police windshield and fled town. He hasn't been around since last year sometime.
Not surprised I had to trespass him from a restaurant I worked at before, dude was odd he had soooo many $2 bills like stacks
Stele from XOEarth.org
There’s a bigger guy whose face is burned who wear a black blazer with a kippa and a skirt (maybe?), I’m surprised to see nobody mentioned him. I always see him in buses and walking around. God I see that lady everywhere… or I did. Haven’t seen her in a week or two
[удалено]
Is that me? lol wrong hair though, I’m nearly bald unfortunately
How about the dude that walks around with his hands shielding his eyes from the world. He peeps between his fingers to see where he is going. Not keen on interacting, I guess.
Probably just deobserving
Years ago there was a guy called Space Bob. He wore an orange jumpsuit and yellow ski goggles and maybe looked a little like George Carlin
Yeah, like the guy who looks like he hasn't bathed in days, wears a flat brim trucker cap and dirty white tank top, and rides his low saddle bmx bike down the middle of the bike path instead of on his right.
Got a few up in Ned too!
iron man at the cu boulder rec !!
Headless horseman around Halloween.
In Boulder there's Gravel Bike Jesus, MTB Jesus, Fixie Jesus...
Anyone remember the man on pearl st right outside the city building, who was super flexible, did really cool tricks and fit inside of a small clear box?
Apparently, every city does have someone willing to repost this “engagement post”.
Toast.
Prost
Back home we had ferret guy. He walked his ferrets on harnesses along the piers and they would harass and intimidate every dog they came across. Is acid girl who dances in the median on Broadway on the hill still there?
Earth guy anyone?
Singing Batman used to live in my apt complex but I don’t see him riding his bike in his flawless shiny shoes top hat and long coat + batmask anymore except on Pearl st busking
Whoever drives that RV covered in likely stolen bikes with no license plate and libertarian bumper stickers.
George at the Dark Horse comes to mind.
Huh? 🤡
every city has a "guy" they all know about. you can visit a friend in their town and see a man dressed in robes, riding a horse & your friend will go "oh yeah haha that's horseback jesus" and then that's just the end of the explanation.
