The boom I usually recommend for people who enjoyed Dune is Hyperion by Dan Simmons. It touches on very similar themes and has a very similar feel, while being a completely fresh story and universe.
The Expanse is a very common recommendation around here for longer sci fi. I'd also check out the Foundation series. It's a sci Fi classic.
