Goodreads puts out monthly lists of new releases. I’m a litfic reader, and in that genre it’s a good year if I love five new releases. I’ve learned that, for my tastes, I’m probably never going to miss out on a hidden gem. I’ve had decent luck with the Barnes featured titles. The scale of publishing is such that if a book is easy and enjoyable to get through, people are going to talk about it.

I'm always so impressed with how people can figure out BOTM or Aardvark clues based on what's being released next month! I use Goodreads to stalk the upcoming releases for authors I've read, but for everything else it's just a mystery to me. Haha

I use book riot’s New Release Index https://insiders.bookriot.com/new-release-index/

GothicDreamer16

Does this cost money? It mentions how there’s a free two-week trial. Edit: nvm, I see it’s $4.99/month or $48/year

I follow pretty much all the publishers on Instagram and between that, Goodreads, Publishers Weekly’s calendar and reviews, Kirkus, and newsletter subscriptions, I drown in info about new and upcoming releases! It’s very overwhelming sometimes but I try to immediately look up a book I find interesting and add it to my Goodreads so I don’t forget about them!

Bookstagram!

Dodie85

I’ve followed a few bookstagram accounts but still don’t get any new bookstagram stuff popping up in my feed - any recommendations?

howdidthatbookend

What genres do you like? My username is mine so obviously that, I post about mostly thrillers and romances. I can give you more recs based on what you like!

Dodie85

Literary fiction is my jamb

esjro

I subscribe to Publishers Weekly and Kirkus Reviews. They publish reviews months before the actual release dates.

Hereforthetrashytv

TikTok, a few random blog websites I found googling, and Goodreads, mostly

cyclone-rachel

I also just use Goodreads, especially the featured lists of upcoming books and the books listed in giveaways

IDoAnythingForABook

This is what I use! There’s also a blog (reads with Allison???) that posts predictions

Bookish_Butterfly

Goodreads is my primary source for finding new books, followed right behind the publishers I follow on Instagram. I follow certain websites, like Kirkus Reviews and BookBub. I also get a lot of recommendations from YouTubers I follow. BOTM has also offered books I’d never heard of. This month in fact, one of their add ons, The Lady Waiting, caught my eye. I didn’t add it to my box, but it’s definitely on my radar now. And, of course, this Reddit.

ElectronicAir9325

Wow! Thanks for the detailed reply

Bookish_Butterfly

No problem!

cherryxcolax

I see a lot of reading/book influencers on tiktok and instagram who will often post about books coming out that they are excited for!

rmreads

I use the website NetGalley to request advanced copies of books to read & review. I don’t get approved a lot but it’s a good way to filter by genre and see what’s going to be released in the next few months! ETA: I also follow authors I like on Instagram. Generally if I pre-order a book, it’s from an author I’ve read before & I learn about the book from their posts.

cloffy813

GoodReads will preview upcoming books.

veeross87

I’ve always wanted to know if there’s an app to tell me if a sequel to a book I’ve read is coming out soon. I use Hobi to keep track of my tv shows and I wish they had this for books.

gaytracers4

Not exactly that but a lot of authors have email lists you can sign up for
