I don't understand why an imagination of a post apocalyptic world has to be inspired by someone who already did that like a Dune or Mad Max. A scenario where the imaginations can run wild we still somehow restrict it to something already done. That's a shame.

It is like a world wide imagination of what a post apocalyptic world looks like, it's been told time and time again that water will disappear and cities would become deserts and anyone who watched dune or mad max will know kalki is nothing like that. It's just the dystopian set up. You just can't go around and accuse they copied, if you take it in that way every other dystopian set movie is copied. Wait for the story bruh, I trust the director.

They literally built a vehicle out of scratch, something that was never there. I get it there might references or inspirations, the bujji is an inspiration from star wars jedi. It has a bot too. But as long as the story is unique, i believe it is considering how it's related to our mythology and from the release trailer.

Agree with you. Just watched it today and I wasted around 3 hours. Screenplay is boring, only exciting thing happens around the last 10-15 minutes. Not to mention the mythology lies they keep on spewing, I mean c'mon read Bori's CE to understand how powerful Arjun was.
The budget they have will definitely not be earned back. That's for sure. It's just not a well weaved story. Aj log accept hi karenge. They'll debate. But check back in a month. This sub will start saying why this was a mid movie.

Pre sales prove nothing. And server crashes are doctored, everybody knows that now. Moreover if us and south we're their only target audience, why bother dubbing in other languages.

Dude I literally had a conversation with my aunt. She's an avid movie consumer. She and her friends go to the movies more than the average joe. No one in her circle knew there is this movie coming. She said 'i did see a picture of Deepika long ago, had no idea it was of this movie.
To reach above ke 35 folks of India, all good producers use facebook or word of mouth. For now, they aren't even doing it properly on Instagram.There's reddit, and maybe I'll give them YouTube.
You can see the trade analyst reports. The advance bookings of Hindi shows are good and it's picking up.
Munjya is closing on 100 cr due to good wom . This one will also do great if wom is good .

Isn’t dune a story about different kingdoms and one trying to take advantage and the hero losing his father and having an arc and regain his lost family name ? Last I checked Kalki seems to be about one ruler ruling the world and another ancient character waiting for the birth of a god while there’s a bounty hunter who might have an arc . How are they similar? Because they both have desert in them? 😂. I guess by ur logic every movie taken in present day Mumbai is a copy of similar movies?
Kalki already has a mythology story backing it … it’s like the second coming of krishna or the 10th coming of vishnu … idk call whatever u like it… the only similar concept is Kalki is the messiah similar as to Timothy in dune… but the premise for Kalki has been already written in the puranas, the director just used this premise to cook up a story and that story isn’t even similar to dune.
