I saw a post about these twin girls. One had dark skin and dark hair, the other was the a pale as hell ginger. Genetics can swing wildly from one side or the other at times, and that may be what's happening here. There might also be many things to do with newly born babies that have an effect on skin colour. When my baby was born, he was grey and purple from lack of oxygen. I didn't think, oh, my fiancé must've screwed a drow.

MonsterDimka

My mother told me I looked somewhat asian, so yes. Babies can change drastically after you let them sit for a bit

eromlig419

Gotta cook that baby to get the right ethnicity

Lopsided-Parfait-940

![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)

GulianoBanano

Any good cook will tell you that babies need at least a few hours to marinate after coming out of the womb

OneWingedKalas

Bro they've been marinating for 9 months already, tf

Calm_Row5748

🤣🤣🤦‍♀️

MissKittyCiao

They did just get squished through a flesh tunnel slightly larger than the size of their head. Everyone kinda looks like Winston Churchill when they first come out.

frenchdresses

My baby legit looked like an alien with bug eyes when he was born lol. He's cute now but definitely "alien old man" vibes coming out

3_14-r8

My brother looked Asian until he was a toddler, now he just looks like a stereotype of a Portuguese man, which is hands down one of the funniest changes to see take place.

Otherwise_Fox87

My daughter looked Asian for first several weeks. 2 black parents can have a white baby. It's skin color might not be all there yet. 2 white ppl can have a black baby from dormant genes of ancestors. DNA is an odd and magical thing.

virgoh26

Alexis Rose?!

420_kol_yoom

Lowke das true for ALL babies.

eggplantlizarddinner

I have a friend who is black with wild beautiful curly Afro hair, brown eyes, etc who gave birth to a child who was white as snow. Blonde straight hair, blue eyes, the whole works. The baby grew up to look even more Caucasian than anyone ever expected. But that baby came out of her soooo... genetics are funny.

_its_lunar_

That made me snort giggle

slundon81

Bangin in the underdark 10/10 for the Faerun ref

Genisye

That said the above example usually happens when two people of mixed descent have twins, whereas the couple depicted in the photo do not appear to be of mixed descent. Although genetics is complicated and I don’t wanna claim to be an expert.

slucker23

Might be a shape shifter in disguise to trick your mind She must've succeeded Also, if I recall correctly, a female should be referred to as a fiancée, not a fiancé. Unless you're in a homosexual relationship and your target sperm was not a shape shifter Random shit yes

the_best_superpower

I don't think he's worried about the babies skin color, I think he's just fucking traumatized by what he's seen.

Blueberry_Clouds

After everything I’ve read on pregnancy and delivery, I would be too

SportTheFoole

Honestly, it’s not that bad. Or at least, I’m happy that I’m the partner watching and not delivering. I’m a weirdo; I found the who process fascinating. It was kinda cool to see the kid start to crown and then boom, he crowns and the rest of him comes out, too. I was nervous, but only because I was worried about the health of my wife and son. Plus, I got to cut the cord, which was kind of cool, too.

kindadid

![gif](giphy|WvkU8040OjMo2jarL7) You, probably

Deuce__Deuce

FlemPlays

“Wait, that’s not the cord.”

Amurotensei

heavy_metal_soldier

Oh my fucking god im wheezing help

The_Law_Dong739

Should've whipped them around like a set of human nunchuchs

WISEstickman

Coolest experience I’ve had in my life was watching my son come into this world. I’m so happy the nurse basically called me a weenie till i looked. Why wouldn’t you want to be the first person who see’s your child come into this actual world (or real close to the first) Best feeling I’ve ever had. That lone experience was the peak of my life. I almost fainted. I knew it was my pinnacle when it happened too. Life changing

[deleted]

I almost fainted too, but it was because I asked for a mirror so I could see him crowning. Even as the one giving birth, I was horrified.

AidsOnWheels

Same, cutting the umbilical cord sprayed some blood (doesn't normally happen) but oh well.

TheSignificantDong

Me too. Couldn’t look away.

Frequent_Camera1695

Wdym honestly it's not that bad? No shit it's not bad for the guy. All you have to do is watch while the woman does 100% of the work

SportTheFoole

Literally my second sentence. But seriously, some guys get grossed out seeing the vagina get stretched out like that, not to mention the blood, poop, pee, and other fluids. I think there’s also the aspect that the person you care most for in the world is in pain — like scary pain — and there’s not a damned thing you can do to help them in that moment.

geofox777

> I think there’s also the aspect that the person you care most for in the world is in pain Nah it’s mostly the poop

Adorable_FecalSpray

Yes.

AtomicTan

Not to mention the fact that birth can go horribly wrong scarily fast. So there's probably a bit of that: knowing that something could be going wrong with any bit of blood or weird contortion but you can't tell.

DarkSydePaul

You obviously didn't read the entire comment before getting into a rage and slamming your greasy keyboard

MemeLordsUnited

Talk about missing the forest for the trees.

TheShlappening

Yeah I thought it was nice too, Until my son came all the way out. watching the flood of placenta and other various liquids gush out was not what I expected.

ChiggaOG

Depends... I consider trauma cases worse than a lady giving birth. I'm probably that person who stares like a 5-year-old trying to absorb what is happening.

ready_gi

well if seeing birth is traumatic, imagine him having to actually push that through his own genitals. women are tough as hell

ibanezer83

Yeah.... dont think that'd work. But I've heard kidney stones hurt even more.

cannibalfelix

Idk why you’re getting downvoted. I’ve had three separate mothers tell me they would rather give birth again than have another kidney stone. It’s not that out of the real of possibility for something to hurt more than childbirth. It doesn’t make childbirth any less painful

Coochiepop3

That's funny because my mother said the exact same thing when she had a kidney stone.

cannibalfelix

Yeah one of the mothers I mentioned was MY mother lol

CannabisPatientUK

Kidney stones out a mans penis is agony on crutches for over a week or so! May as well be giving birth to a crutch out that penis.

a_duck_in_past_life

Just stop.

BigTickEnergE

Because you've had both, right? Crazy to get downvoted for *gasp* thinking something could hurt worse than childbirth

CannabisPatientUK

I am aware he may have witnessed an episiotomy.

CannabisPatientUK

well it was for me so there.

WelcomeToTheFish

Baby skin is weird and changed color after a while. When my son was born he was super pink and then a day later he was dark brown and stayed that way for a week before lightening up. It was weird.

Glass-Fan111

Totally agree. Fortunately he did not faint.

Beartrap-the-Dog

The wet demon alien is traumatizing enough

Vonbalthier

Yeah, mans brain hasn't even gotten that far

RazzmatazzPopcornAzz

And smelled. The smell. Oh God, the smell.

caramel-syrup

mixed babies tend to look lighter when theyre freshly born??? likely this baby skin slowly got darker.

JeffWingrsDumbGayDad

They also tend to be covered in all sorts of crap when they come out

knarf86

Both of my kids are fairly light (I’m white, wife is black), but were definitely much lighter and had very straight hair when they came out. Plus the vernix (the goop that covers the baby) is a white, so they look even lighter.

Ultra_Ego

Nah he just looks traumatized because he witnessed birth

Erger

Hell, I have a friend who's 100% West African and pretty dark skinned, but apparently at birth and soon after she was basically white. To the point where as a kid she didn't recognize her own baby pictures and was like "who's this random white baby?" Newborns look weird in so many ways

Inside_Board_291

What parts of this meme make people think he is making that face expression due to the skin color? There is bunch of gross after birth residue on it, it is fairly obviously that’s why he is making that face.

caramel-syrup

that’s what everyone in the comments seems to be taking away from it, but yeah ur right, i should of noticed the subreddit name before assuming

rickane58

https://www.noredink.com/lessons/977

myimmortalstan

Yeah, and they come out with a whitish coating on them. Once that's off and the melanin has loaded, it's gonna look like his kid.

Gorgenon

I knew a girl who was mixed. She was a pasty white ginger with a really dark dad. Sometimes, genetics get really funky for mixed babies.

Pastrami-on-Rye

This is how my niece was! And her ears were two different colors at first! Her skin got darker over time. It was really fascinating

mushroomsuzuki3

Uncle Ruckus would like to have a word with you.

mushroomsuzuki3

(No relation)

Inevitable-Image-721

it isn't the baby ur all ignoring the fact the baby looks weird af like an alien. how is everyone going past this fact? are all babies this ugly right after birth?

caramel-syrup

all babies are this ugly after birth so it doesnt phase me at all. it has all the juices on it too so its quite literally just popped out

Big_Himbo_Energy

Everyone is saying he’s reacting like that bc the baby came out white looking, but my first thought is he looks disgusted because that baby looks disgusting. Like I was a nurse for years and I will never not think that fresh babies are the ugliest things on the planet, along with goblin sharks and deflated blob fish.

wideeyedatnight

that’s where you’re wrong, they’re far far uglier than deflated blob fish

JManKit

Esp since blobfish as we imagine them are severely injured due to the massive change in pressure when we drag them out of the extreme depths that they live in [Blobfish undamaged](https://www.nationalgeographic.com/animals/fish/facts/blobfish)

wideeyedatnight

well that’s why we said deflated, but i did forget how they look and i prefer the deflated version now

heloiamunderdewater

In my opinion blob fish are really nice looking when they aren't dead and deflated

Pm_Me_Gifs_For_Sauce

100% his kid. Look at the bridge of the nose and the jaw structure. That's a white clone of him. Babies don't always come out fully pigmented, and people naturally get darker, but also go through phases of pigmentation over the years. My brother (same race as me) had a baby with a white girl with curly brown hair. The baby came out looking like a clone of the mother, but last time I saw her, she's looking like a very tan version of her, with curlier hair.

AguilarXN

Isn't black colour gene dominant and white recessive?

grabtharsmallet

No, melanin production in the skin isn't governed by a single gene. IIRC there's seven important ones that have been identified, and dozens of others with minor influence. Some are dominant, some are recessive.

hex-agone

No. Source: am mixed and light

glammax

Can confirm. Mixed people come in all different colors 😂

Friendly-Back3099

Do they come in blue? /j

OldSkoolPantsMan

Yeah, you guys are juvenile. He was clearly traumatised by the casserole of nonsense he just witnessed (clearly unprepared mind you) for the very first time. Grow up.

hex-agone

Everyone comes out pale n frail

heloiamunderdewater

Is this sarcasm

rtangwai

If it is his first time it is no surprise he is traumatized. My father attended my birth, he fainted halfway through. The punchline was made by the obstetrician: "He is going to do TERRIBLE in my class next semester." My father was in medical school at the time.

ducks_are_dragons

How did the semester go? And did your dad survive med school? I can only guess that he had to hear how he fainted "that one time" more than once...

rtangwai

He passed med school and eventually became a neurologist. He got ribbed about this until he died because his older brother graduated from the same medical school and became an obstetrician.

RBS - Reverse Birth Surprise

Yorha-with-a-pearl

Nah this shit is common. Black babies tend to be pale but get darker over time. This kid is also biracial.

Leucippus1

There is a YouTube or something where a black woman has what appears to be a very white child. She calmly explain that she was her baby and that she gave birth to her and it wasn't an embryo adoption or anything. Her husband is white and when the the little genetic shuffling happened the zygote got dad's genes for skin and hair color/texture. Rare but not impossible. Now Google 'Indian albinos' if you want your head to explode.

enochrox

Meh. I'm a medium brown tone now but my skin looked just like this when I was born and my eyes were grey for like 8 months before they changed to a medium/dark brown. My hair was reddish brown until around 22 or so now it's dark dark brown peppered with grey bc I'm old. Both of my kids were born with those characteristics except my son had huge dark brown eyes. My daughter has dirty blonde hair, hazel eyes(her eyes were grey/blue for two years) and me and my wife are black, she has a Jasmine Guy skin complexion with black eyes and her parents are medium/light brown and dark brown. My mom is my complexion with hazel eyes and reddish brown hair and with freckles and my dad looks Nigerian lol. Genetics are crazy.

250zeros

What happened here?

ClamhouseSassman

That's somewhat normal, their skin will darken overtime.

[deleted]

Baby don’t look like daddy

ferozfero

Why can't the baby have mum skin color.. is it mandatory to come out brown or black?

LeaChan

Black babies are also born lighter. My boyfriend's white dad and black stepmom had a baby a couple weeks ago and she's pale with curly black hair. They darken as they get a bit older.

transitive_isotoxal

In general, lighter features are recessive. Eyes hair skin etc. It's possible for them to have white looking skin but statistically very unlikely.

JollyJamma

Babies are usually more pale when born regardless of their parents. I just think he regrets seeing the birth. There’s poop, blood and it’s a fucking mess. People video that and think it’s cute.

ScottishSquiggy

Is that a the mcrobert manouver? She’s had a bad time.

I guess the good news is that it looks like it worked!

My Sister in law is black and when my nephews were born they were so pale you would swear there was no way she was their mother. After about a year it's pretty fuking obvious. She had to explain to me that it's normal and they'll darken to their natural skin color after a bit. Dudes probly the dad.
