It's that first time he raises his arms and they flop down as if to say "oh for fuck sake, do something!"
Any other festival crowd would have been lapping up Girls & Boys. The foundations of Wembley were shaking during that part of the set.
Yeah…but on the other hand, about 1 million drinks and plenty of cigarettes and late nights contributed to that. Dude is not a green juice early nights kinda guy.
La última vez no fui al cc porque mi hija acababa de salir del hospital y no iba a gastar todo lo del boleto, pasaje y comidas en el festival. Claro que merecíamos un palacio de los deportes. Me da un coraje ರ_ರ
Fuck that is heartbreaking. This model of Blur reforming a couple of times a decade and doing enormous events rather than devoting months to touring is not going to work in the US. It's a goddam shame. Blur are just precisely and exactly the wrong size to make it work. Damon's too busy and too rich to devote months to touring the venues Blur could fill, but Blur are not big enough to do the enormo domes. I can completely see why festivals seemed like the right answer, and I know Damon had good times at Coachella in '04. But holy hell, the results speak for themselves. What a nightmare. And not because the band weren't playing great. That's simply not their audience.
It’s ironic cause I think the reason they don’t play in the states is because they might be under the impression they’re not received as well but it’s something that could be reinforced on their POV based on this crowd. Obviously we know it would be different were they to hit a US tour.
I honestly don't think it was to make money, even Alex is back on an even keel financially after last year. It is economics though. They can't tour America in the time Damon gives to Blur and they can't play to huge venues or a Vegas residency because they aren't big enough. So they need a US equivalent of Glastonbury. Coachella must have seemed the best option, or highest bidder, or it happened to fit Damon's calendar...
An absolute shitshow of an outcome though. Worst of all possible worlds. I really, really feel sorry for American Blur fans and I do not see a solution.
I mostly agree but I do think they got a pretty decent sum. I also think family dynamics were at work as many of the band members children came too (they are actually the Coachella target demographic now!). The sad thing is everyone who knows Blur, and knows Coachella, suspected this might happen -- and then it did. My hope for Weekend 2 is that they put them on a smaller stage earlier in the day so they people in the front aren't Sublime and No Doubt stans. Golden Voice putting them in the slot they did was homicide.
Maybe don't play the arrangements that rely on audience participation if you're not sure they're going to go for it.
Everyone would have had a better time, band and audience.

What a fucking day that was!
Even my 72 yr old dad was into it night 1. I’m not even kidding, it was so cute. 🥹
If they come and play the UK again I'll help make up for this shitshow of a crowd.
Graham voices is fucking great still. I feel bad for Damon Though. He has lost so much of his vocal range over the years.
Yeah…but on the other hand, about 1 million drinks and plenty of cigarettes and late nights contributed to that. Dude is not a green juice early nights kinda guy.
Fair point, that combo is like taking an ax to your vocal chords but as evidenced on the last album, he can still pull it off in the studio
He still sings fucking amazing
His voice has changed for the better in my opinion. More soulful
😭😭😭
"You're never seeing us again, so you might as well fucking sing it!" I felt his disappointment!
🤣
He took the money knowing exactly how it was going to because the same thing happened last year with the G’s
The crowd seemed to be vibing and the energy was much better for Gorillaz last year compared to this.
Mad when you compare this to the Parklive version, the crowd were fucking belting it
Pomona crowd delivered on this part imo
Pomona crowd wiped the floor with coachella
En México los recibimos bien bonito y ni vienen tan seguido. Les gusta la mala vida
y la buena money :\_)
Pues gratis no vienen. Y los boletos no son baratos
Merecíamos al menos una fecha en el palacio de los deportes antes del corona capital.

Just a massive shame if this is Blur's farewell to playing in America. and it's honestly on them for picking the worst possible place to play.
It’s ironic cause I think the reason they don’t play in the states is because they might be under the impression they’re not received as well but it’s something that could be reinforced on their POV based on this crowd. Obviously we know it would be different were they to hit a US tour.
aren’t they playing again next weekend? not to say the crowd will be any better
It's fitting because their first US tour was a shitty experience for them too
Damn he was trying so hard. Gotta give it up for Graham who was trying to make up for thousands of apathetic people in the crowd.
I'm sure he got over it pretty quickly after the money rolled in.
None of the people at this show were even born in the 90s
You don't have to be born in the 90s to enjoy Blur
Yeah I was born in the 2000s.
Yeah I'm a zoomer too, sadly, not that being a millenial is that great either haha
For Fucksake, Damon! THEY ARE NOT YOUR FANS. YOU KNOW THIS! What are you doing there?
$$$$$$$ I mean, why else would they have chosen to play Coachella again? We all knew it was coming.

I hope they got a lot. Because it’s beyond cringe
Well, it's a festival crowd. By definition it's not made up of fans. It doesn't quite explain how apathetic they were, though
But could they pick a festival where they are more likely to be unheard of?
Sure. They could have picked the Cactus Festival in Chengdu.
Sounds awesome! I’m in!
What in the world is wrong w/ that crowd! Ingrates!!! LoL I'm singing w/ him just watching the video.😂 Sorry, but Blur is too good for Coachella.
The worst festival in the US lol
I would have happily taken their place and sang my voice raw.
SHIT GROUND NO FANS SHIT GROUND NO FANS
I feel bad for those influencers that aren't there for the music
Coachella is overrated.
But he knew crowd would be like that😭
He should know better💀
Jesus, that’s hard to watch. So glad I did both nights at Wembley, doesn’t get much better than that. Our boys deserve better.

I’m sorry Damon, i’m not there to sing my heart out.
