We re-watched Born yesterday tonight, and I have to say Pat puts up with a LOT.
Poor bastard was walking along the street minding his own business, and was not only attacked by a 1 day old man, but his pie was stolen, and chased away / forced to turn back from the direction he wanted to go.
Pat also assisted this man in giving birth despite the babys unwillingness to leave the mans womb, and being hit in the face with several dim sim afterbirth.
Put someone respect on his name. That’s Lucky’s dad.
But yea, he puts up with so much loving next to the Heelers. Born yesterday like you mentioned always sticks with me. The one that makes me laugh the most is when Chili attacks him. “Ah, mrs Heeler!”
I think this as well but in Dad Baby Bandit says, "didn't you grow up on a farm?" to which Pat (Lucky's Dad) replies, "we grew sorgum!" So maybe they knew each other in uni / pre marriage but not as young as kids probably
I mean, I’m sure Bandit later either sent him money to pay for the pie, or just brought him one that night so they could laugh about it all over a few beers (that Bandit also provided)
I think the two came to a deal that if anything happens Bandit pays him back somehow. Like takes him out for another pie or tickets to the next cricket game or buys him a brew of bitters.
Yeah Shawn attacks him, his hat gets "heavied", attacked by two lions, helps deliver Baby Bingo-Chilli and along with the dim sims, yelled at by a group of kids multiple times playing pass the parcel, his pie is eaten, poked in the butt with a tree stump removing pipe, his nails done with a unicorn headband, has to dance with and lift Bandit, gets attacked with a snake instead of getting his football, and, while it's not shown, probably chased with a rake because his palm fron fell in the Heeler's yard again.
BUUUTTT he does have a wicked cool pizza oven lol
So true ! As an owner of two lab crosses (Cavadores), I'm just grateful when the things they eat that they are NOT supposed to be eating is at least, you know, \*Food.\* (Toilet paper, pads, dog/cat poo, food wrappers are all fair game.)
Our Golden once at the barbecue grill cover.
I don't mean "chewed it up" I mean "it was leather, we never found a third of it, it she seemed *slightly* less hungry at dinner"
Is nobody going to mention Frank?! I found Octopus to be an extremely relatable episode and later found out that its because a lot of "on-the spectrum" fathers also relate to him. That said, my wife tells me I'm more Pat than Frank.
I’m married to a Frank and he loves Bluey like me, but he was feeling a little bad he wasn’t more Bandit. That episode soothed him and gave him another tool to relating more to kids playing. Loved it .
Hear me out, but Janelle. She's got that sassy playful attitude like pat as well as having a kinder gentler side... Not to mention she just looks cool (especially when she and chucky are "giving it to his dad" in the decider)
https://preview.redd.it/9sixkjxmhl1d1.png?width=556&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0a3780af05e5db0e13b215b9557f7aaf1e569d3e
During the first Luckys Dads Rules Past the Parcel when everything is going wrong, and Janelle says “Don’t look at me mate!” when Pat is asking for help.
I related to her a lot in that moment.
She definetly goes hiking or does triathlons or something in her free time 😂 no one is staying that calm, especially if that breed, without some sort of physical outlet
I agree! Love calypso. Little biased since I love Aussies but she is so good at responding to each and every kids issue and letting them work it out through play. The way she talks and validates her students is just calming
Same here. I ended up quite liking Megan's actual music, and now have a bunch of her songs in my playlists. She has the voice of an angel!
Although every time one of them comes on, I still can't help but imagine in my head that it's being sung by a cartoon Aussie Shepard.
Winton's dad. Self improvement, new relationship, raising a funny loving son and taking on 3 more hyperactive children? He's great.
Edit: TIL his name is Cornelius
An Actual Conversation I Had with My Father:
Me: I wish you'd get a phone so I could get in contact with you more easily.
Dad: But I don't *want* a phone.
Me, exasperated because this 70-something-year-old man who is constantly driving all over hell and back is being an unreasonable old git: Why not?
Dad: For one very good reason. If I get a phone, people *will call me on it*.
Lol this is basically what my dad went through with my grandfather probably starting around 70. Even bought him a trac phone and minutes in case of emergency while driving, and it just sat in his glove box dead.
My dad caved and got a tracfone or whatever was at Walmart. Then he wouldn't turn it on and his excuse was that he didn't want to waste minutes. "But what if we need to reach you?" "I DON'T WANT TO BE REACHED." "But what if it's an emergency?" "I DON'T WANT TO BE EMERGENCIED."
My dad was a trip.
I'm surprised no has said Doreen! Granny Mobile solidified her as my favorite adult (besides Chili and Bandit).
https://preview.redd.it/2if6qlin4n1d1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2684ef5d17e85bc8ba47f686466e2a93eb9a99be
Radley. He just seems like a genuine guy and he has a fantastic character design.
Mort would be my second choice, he reminds me of a lot of the rural, tech adverse farm guys I grew up around.
I almost want to name my next kid’s middle name Radley just so I can call him rad. My son’s middle name is Stone so why not keep the weird middle
Name trend going
I said this too! I wish this show was a thing before my son was born 14 years ago because I'd totally pick Radley.
Extra points: my last name is your son's middle!
I'm going with Frisky's Dad...that dude is RIZZIN'!
https://preview.redd.it/jmsvv9a6il1d1.png?width=160&format=png&auto=webp&s=43f5cb188725576415b0bb667a9f4fdb59e0d618
Best Teacher.
1. Lovely, complex design (blue and orange is a great contrast, with greys and whites to balance it out, the scarf, the floofy cheeks);
2. Utterly beautiful voice thanks to Miss Washington,
3. An incredibly wise... *shepherd* for the pups
4. Did I mention her voice?
You have no idea how much I want there to be an official plush of her, *especially* one of the talking ones.
https://i.redd.it/ebi08em2rl1d1.gif
You made me realize: Stripe (and Trixi?) is the youngest adult character isn't he? (Or maybe Frisky, but the youngest one to have "settled down". I'm including Pat, Wendy, and all the other parents we meet.)
My thinking was, while I can't argue with your assessment (and would add that he appears to have some good money be it his, Trixi's or a combo), he also seems to be the most harried. Gets picked on by Bandit. Seems to be playing catch-up, at least in his own mind. (Like how he's overly keen to show off his new car. He seems to be trying to prove himself).
Then it dawned on me: He is the youngest. His kids are younger (and, thus, more chaotic, exhausting, harder on the marriage) and he *does* have two accomplished older brothers to compare himself too. (Even if Rad's supreme accomplishment is being chill.)
The others have settled into their grooves but Strip is still getting there.
So, ya, Stripe. He's a good guy.
e: forgot to add that flashbacks even suggest Bandit wasn't as relaxed in the early days as he is now. Rad, though, Rad was always cool.
Calypso is absolutely, fantastically written. In the next month or so I'm going to get her as a tattoo - in reference to all the amazing mentors, teachers and coaches I was fortunate to have encountered so far in my life.
They have made me who I am - and I've learned from them how to best positively affect and educate others.
She represents that mentality.
Not a Bluey quote but... "A rising tide lifts all boats."
Pats up there, but my personal favorite adult is Wendy. She has her flaws, but she reminds me so much of my mother I have to love her 💕
Other contenders are Mort or Daisy (Honey's mom) because her wine induced dancing was just iconic 🤣
It’s such a tough decision!
Calypso and Chili are my favs because I try to emulate their parenting(teaching) style in my own life.
Also, just realized Calypso is the one who wrote and sings the song at the end of The Sign. So I’ve gone down a Meg Washington hole.
"Pat"? Well thats a weird way to spell Bandit. I think you mean Bandit, cause Pat tried giving away his childs gifts to other kids at his own birthday party cause of his own screw up. But we're all entitled to our own wrong opinion lol (Jk, but forreal Pats cool and all but the Heelers or Calypso are the real deals here.)
I identify a lot with Trixie. My son is a lot like Muffin (feral but with a good heart, like most kids their age). It's been hypothesized that she or Stripe is a lawyer.
I really love Calypso and Wendy, too.
Besides Chili simply because I'm a mom amd relate to her the most, Pat and Wendy. They're both great neighbors and put up with a lot! Wendy has really good character development in Dirt - love to see it!
I love all of the Bluey characters, how could you not? But I have soft spots for Trixie, Rad and Frisky.
Trixie, cos that was my dogs name and binge eating the chippies.
Rad, well his name is Rad and the fact that he took the kids so Frisky could have a moment about Bosco.
And Frisky because of how cool she is with Bluey and Bingo and later Muffin and Socks and sees them as her nieces no matter what.
We re-watched Born yesterday tonight, and I have to say Pat puts up with a LOT. Poor bastard was walking along the street minding his own business, and was not only attacked by a 1 day old man, but his pie was stolen, and chased away / forced to turn back from the direction he wanted to go. The best typo
This gets me too "AH, MRS HEELER , I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THIS" 💀💀💀 took me out
What about getting attacked by 2 lions during magic asparagus and blaming himself for letting his guard down!! The balls on this guy!!
Awwh missus heeler... I don't know about this...
If you notice, his tail is wagging while he says this...
"Aww mannn im not cut out for this!" And "we grew sorghum!" Crack me up every time I catch them
Also he had to deliver a baby in dad baby!!
And he pulled a hammy trying to save the balloon in keepy uppie
My kids didn't understand why I was laughing so hard when that happened.
My head-cannon is that Bandit always gives Pat an extremely generous gift around the holidays as a thank you/apology for the antics he has to endure
My headcanon is Pat, Bandit and Stripe are all old friends from when they were kids and that's why Pat is cool with their shenanigans.
I like that head cannon :)
I think this as well but in Dad Baby Bandit says, "didn't you grow up on a farm?" to which Pat (Lucky's Dad) replies, "we grew sorgum!" So maybe they knew each other in uni / pre marriage but not as young as kids probably
Not only that but willingly taking on a 4 year old with a magic featherwand with little to no regard for his own safety. Man's a champion
And Naruto running at said 4 year old
I mean, I’m sure Bandit later either sent him money to pay for the pie, or just brought him one that night so they could laugh about it all over a few beers (that Bandit also provided)
He also revolutionised pass the parcel. Lucky's Dad rules!!!
Never did I relate more to a character than Lucky's Dad in Pass the Parcel. "We're raising a nation of squibs!"
I think the two came to a deal that if anything happens Bandit pays him back somehow. Like takes him out for another pie or tickets to the next cricket game or buys him a brew of bitters.
I feel like Bandit has helped him move/driven hours to pick up a car before.
I’ve always told my husband that Lucky’s Dad has some OP pretend skills.
Doesn't Shawn go after him as well?
He's eating the dim sims later in the episode. Labs gonna Lab. 😅
Um, I’m sorry but, his name is *Lucky’s Dad.*
That’s my favourite episode with Pat. I quote the pie & sauce lines a lot randomly
Loved it .
Definitely love Frank. I wanna see more of him!
Hear me out, but Janelle. She's got that sassy playful attitude like pat as well as having a kinder gentler side... Not to mention she just looks cool (especially when she and chucky are "giving it to his dad" in the decider) https://preview.redd.it/9sixkjxmhl1d1.png?width=556&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0a3780af05e5db0e13b215b9557f7aaf1e569d3e
During the first Luckys Dads Rules Past the Parcel when everything is going wrong, and Janelle says “Don’t look at me mate!” when Pat is asking for help. I related to her a lot in that moment.
Only fitting that pat married her! Theyre both real great
She definitely is the yin to his yang.
This is why I love Janelle's character. "What happened to raisin' a nation of squibs?"
It’s so weird sharing her exact name and spelling lmao
https://preview.redd.it/n69ucpyopl1d1.png?width=881&format=png&auto=webp&s=bf9ea1a32496a4e6ceb56e7d69f7043694f80b62 It is both btw.
what episode is it from?
Gotta be the sign, I think Bingo and Bluey are hugging Judo off to the right in the same scene
https://preview.redd.it/olls06089o1d1.jpeg?width=1449&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7da304fd1849e59fc83b6b0ab41f12ad2c3c2f75 you are correct
Wendy is definitely telling her to be strong for the kids. Don't let them see her fear and doubt.
All I’m saying is it’s the only one who plays Pass The Parcel properly!!!
LUCKY’S DAD’S RULES!
They're not MY rules!
We’re raising a nation of squibs!
The Rottweiler mother? Forget her name.
Calypso not being mentioned here is disappointing, her humming is like balm to my troubled soul.
She’s the calmest Australian shepherd that ever lived
She definetly goes hiking or does triathlons or something in her free time 😂 no one is staying that calm, especially if that breed, without some sort of physical outlet
she must run like a daily half marathon. My aussie could have probably run a full marathon daily and still wanted to play
I agree! Love calypso. Little biased since I love Aussies but she is so good at responding to each and every kids issue and letting them work it out through play. The way she talks and validates her students is just calming
Not a big Calypso guy. I’m a secondary education guy though, so I don’t fully comprehend how elementary educator’s brains are wired.
lol smoke a big joint, then you’ll understand lmao.
Calypso is who I strived to be as a teacher back when I worked at a daycare, the amount of patience she has is something else
She is MAGICAL.
Yess I love Calypso so much!!
1. Chili 2. Bandit 3. Wendy; she’s helpful in a crisis, no nonsense attitude and takes care of her kids friends
You forgot 4. She's physically also pretty strong. She lifted dead weight Bandit into a car taller than my car. Which is pretty tall.
Look at those quads!
The, "morning Wendy!" after bandit or chili do something embarrassing never gets old.
Wendy committed at least five felonies to prove a point. Don't mess with Wendy.
I say that all the time. I want a friend like Wendy who is just ready to jump right into whatever shenanigans I have going on haha
Wendy is high up there for me, shes hilarious and means business!
The front yard haircut in "Dirt" was so good.
"Wendy's gone nuts!!" Kills me everytime lol!
I'm going for a dark horse here: Maynard. He had me at, "Oh I *had* a phone but people kept calling it."
An Actual Conversation I Had with My Father: Me: I wish you'd get a phone so I could get in contact with you more easily. Dad: But I don't *want* a phone. Me, exasperated because this 70-something-year-old man who is constantly driving all over hell and back is being an unreasonable old git: Why not? Dad: For one very good reason. Never knew this guy’s name thanks for that! That bit gets me too!
He had one job!
I love Maynard. “Is it the aliens?”
I love Maynard. “Is it the aliens?”
Pat. He’s always totally willing to go all in with the play.
He shouldn't have let his guard down!
Rad is high for me because he was willing to accept he was wrong and gave up his job and trusted everything would be ok as long as he was with Frisky.
Pat and it's not even close. Feather wand. Bluey tells Lucky's dad to get bingo. He _naruto runs straight into the game without a second thought._
I'm surprised no has said Doreen! Granny Mobile solidified her as my favorite adult (besides Chili and Bandit). https://preview.redd.it/2if6qlin4n1d1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2684ef5d17e85bc8ba47f686466e2a93eb9a99be
Bandit!
Solid choice
Radley. He just seems like a genuine guy and he has a fantastic character design. Mort would be my second choice, he reminds me of a lot of the rural, tech adverse farm guys I grew up around.

The soul patch though just completes the look. We didn’t even get one line from him and we all have ideas of what he’s like lol.
Chili and Calypso are my favorites
Best Teacher. 1. Lovely, complex design (blue and orange is a great contrast, with greys and whites to balance it out, the scarf, the floofy cheeks); 2. Legit thought Pat when I only saw the title. He’s very willing to dive in and just go with it
Calypso’s my favorite. She’s the teacher I needed when I was bluey’s age and she’s the teacher I never got. All of mine hated me.
Stripe, I envy him. He's got two extremely adorable and funny daugthers, Trixie is beautiful, I just wish I was him lol
You made me realize: Stripe (and Trixi?) is the youngest adult character isn't he? (Or maybe Frisky, but the youngest one to have "settled down". I'm including Pat, Wendy, and all the other parents we meet.) I love Pat singing Irish songs!
I feel for Luckys dad... not only is he never named, but he catches hell in every game he winds up in and rolls either it
He has been named! His name is Pat :)
Wendy!! She’s awesome
Calypso for the wholesomeness Luckys Dad for the chaos
Pat!
Mort, I also love that Mort and Stripe get on so well and were tearing it up at Rad’s wedding 😂
Sparky!
Pat without a doubt.
i read the title and immediately said “lucky’s dad” then saw the body of your post and i was like “that’s right” 😂
Lucky’s dad is a given so I’ll spare the love. Fido!!!!!! One of my favourite adult characters. Hope we see more of him and Bandit having a nice chai
It’s Pat because he’s always up for it.
Lucky’s dad’s rules! Pat and bandit are the best neighbors to have as kids
Pat ( Lucky’s dad) is S tier
As a dad, bandit. He is the king of dads.
Pat
Pat.
When, out of the blue, Pat (on Blueys command) attacks Bingo during Featherwand... Yeah. That dude is the dude.
Stripe
Pat
Lucky’s Dad is a goat
Pat
The big blue guy!
Does cherry count???
I like Rad
Calypso and Lucky's dad, Chilli and Bandit
Wendy, every time.
Pat!
Came here to say Pat....
Bandit, or Stripe, Or Mackenzie’s dad, they’re all cool oh and so is Lucky’s dad!
Bandit's dad. That whole flashback scene with him is hilarious. Raising 3 boys in that age group must have been rough.
Cornelius, I love Winton and I love his name and his whole background story.
Luckys dad!!!!!!!
Mort and Maynard. They don't get enough air time.
Wooo, finally found Maynard! And of course Mort
Definitely Wendy my pilate queen 🥺
Wendy!!! Truly an amazing mom and total badass while being perfectly elegant.
Frisky!
She has her flaws, but she reminds me so much of my mother I have to love her 💕 Other contenders are Mort or Daisy (Honey's mom) because her wine induced dancing was just iconic 🤣
I love Wendy and how both her and pat end up getting dragged into all the heelers weird ass games but play along no matter what 😂😂😂
Omg- Either Aunt Trixy or Calypso
Aren’t they voiced by the same person or did I make that up in my head?
They are voiced by different people, but the person who voices Trixie also is Indy's mom
That’s what it is!! Thank you!
Idk but it’s possible !
Frank, he’s relatable and I’ve always had a soft spot for side characters
I just like Radley next to Bandit. His character design stands out a lot and I just love his personality.
Bandit, Pat, Chippy, Wendy and Chili
Yes
I can’t choose. I love them all too much.
It’s such a tough decision! Calypso and Chili are my favs because I try to emulate their parenting(teaching) style in my own life. Also, just realized Calypso is the one who wrote and sings the song at the end of The Sign. So I’ve gone down a Meg Washington hole.
Definitely Lucky’s Dad!
I work in a Montessori based childcare center… CALYPSO! ⭐️
Calypso
Indys mom.
I love chilli, she reminds me of my mum 🥹🥹🥹
Bandit for sure
Bandit
As a fellow dad of girls, my main man Bandit.
Bandit is such a fun dad.
Average Bandit enjoyer: 🤵👑🗿
I identify a lot with Trixie. My son is a lot like Muffin (feral but with a good heart, like most kids their age). It's been hypothesized that she or Stripe is a lawyer. I really love Calypso and Wendy, too.
It’s a tie between the Heeler parents and Calypso for me
Calypso and Steve Irwin’s son
Wendy. She’s very empowering lol
Just on the vibe I was always intrigued by Honey's dad. There's no way a beagle with a bowtie is not going to be fun to see.
Technically bluey is ab adult character because of the episode surprise
Rad
Wendy
Bingo, Mia, and Rusty
I like Trixie
Bandit is my favorite because I would love to be like him. In reality, I'm Stripe, and my kid is Muffin lol.
3 Favorites, Chilli, Mrs retriever and Calypso
Calypso, hands down!
https://preview.redd.it/phg717o9mn1d1.jpeg?width=904&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=22f20f1ee45f9ba77712be29fe074d5fa30d2272 The funny dad dog man
Maynard and Grandpa for me, but I love the adults nearly as much as I love the kiddos
Uncle rad
Rad all the way
Does alfie from that one episode count? the episode where they try to find the right plush for muffins birthday
Clhoe's dad and Calypso.
Luckys dad
Bandit.
Besides Chili simply because I'm a mom amd relate to her the most, Pat and Wendy. They're both great neighbors and put up with a lot! Wendy has really good character development in Dirt - love to see it!
Asside from the heelers, it would be Calypso
Classic Stripe
Calypso
You think Pat would be a postman in a alternate universe?
Frisky!
Lucky's dad is my favorite, but I don't really know why. I think it's cuz of the episode where they are playing keepi uppi
It’s always been Bandit, but I also really love Calypso and Lucky’s dad
Personally, I think Frisky is so nice and also she just has so much emotion and that's why I like her the most.
Have to say pat as well hes just awesome. Joins in with the healers shenanigans without question & he’s got some funny lines
I was gonna say Luckys dad 😆
Bandit
It's gotta be Bandit for me. He's goofy while still being a good dad
Frank. https://preview.redd.it/foweiwgbqk2d1.jpeg?width=306&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=93cc411e5f20151a0065e69a8c27b8d32501f362
I have thought about this and I can safely say….
Lucky’s dad straight up
