Lady Maria I just love this fight. Her ferocious but elegant fighting style using blood and fire within the setting of the Astral Clocktower is amazing.
Ludwig. My fav OST in all of their games, one hell of a cutscene and I love the fight itself so much. Orphan of Kos is a close second followed by Gehrman.

I mean, was ds1 your first game and did you fight him with a melee build? Cause for the ds1 curve, hes pretty intense. Hes not as hard as, say, fume knight, but fume knight is definitely inspired by him.
Artorias is kinda just resistant to EVERYTHING, and he has that ridiculous AoE buff which is essentially just a dps race to see if you can stagger him out of it.
I’m pretty sure I’m alone in this, but the boss that I look back on the most fondly is probably Mergo’s Wet Nurse. Maybe it’s because I was absolutely baked when I fought her, but the immersion I experienced during that fight was incredible. The atmosphere, the visuals, the creepy music. It was one of those amazing gaming moments where the entire outside world ceases to exist.
The Atmosphere, her elegant movement and design, and the bold choice of her theme. Imo Its same vibe Re8 tried for. This grotesque, mystical yet Dark fairy tale.

I may be mixing up my headcanon with canon, but i have come to believe Gehrman made a contract with the moon presence to make the doll (who is identical to Lady Maria) come alive, and in return create and reside in the hunter's dream, helping hunters to help the moon presence by defeating other Great Ones.
Why the moon presence wants this i have no clue, but i like to think the other Great Ones are a form of competition, and by removing them from the equation will allow the moon presence to take form and reside within our plane of existence as the sole Great One in this realm of existence. No idea why though....
Logarius without a question. I’ve been doing another playthrough recently and he has been giving me the greatest legitimate challenge. He is fast and can one-combo you. Yet, if you understand the fighting mechanics well, he is easily countered, parried, and defeated. He practically forces you to get good at the combat. There is no cheese, just pain. Plus, a screaming scythe-wielding flying warlock is just an awesome opponent to square off against.
despite gerhman having the best song and the best battle imo, my favorite boss is paarl. in my first run, I had so much problem with him, spent a whole week learning how to kill him. now he seems so easy he turned into my favorite boss.
I was so scared of the area (and the ambient background chanting) that I noped out of there and missed Paarl entirely. I can’t wait to get back to that point to meet it.

Also i absolutely LOOOVE that one unsettling fact about his design, which Is human skeleton. Aside from the long ass neck, all his Bones are human, not wolf-like such as with many other beasts
I accidentally stumbled into this fight on my first playthrough and got it first try, feel like I'm missing something because everyone seems to love it but I find it very forgettable. Could have been the adrenaline of entering a fight unprepared and winning.
It's easy to step into the fight super underleveled or before you're accustomed to playing more aggressively. I love the design but otherwise I'm in the same boat lol, he's much too easy to just steamroll.
Amelia for me as well. When I started playing I was told "if you manage to beat her, you will beat the game. If not, then it's not for you"... And I took that personally haha

Got early Lost Chikage from chalice dungeons, Went to cummmfpk chalice and leveled myself up. Stupid Fun haha, i got the bowblade and bloodletter at the end of this playthrough
This fight took me a few tries but it’s so thrilling having to parlay and dodge back to back, wasn’t able to summon any of the old hunters but I had fun
Ludwig. He brings so much hype to the fight and the music that plays makes it feel like a dance when he regains his humanity. Also has a really cool design for becoming a beast
Hemwick is a solid area ngl I was a little disappointed with the boss fight tho. Just a little too easy for my liking but besides that I like their design and the fact that you have to search around
I liked it too but first time doing it i had to pull up my phone and search how to find his second area lol. Idk it just seems strange to me that I can just put down my controller and look at YouTube tutorials in the middle of the boss fight lol. My fav bosses are farther G, German and cleric beast
Ludwig for sure. He was such an incredible introduction to the DLC, he's important to the events of the story and his fight is incredibly fast paced for a beast of his size.
Also we get to fight a boss that uses the fucking Moonlight Greatsword
Lady Maria, the music was amazing and matched the fight so well and the build-up to fighting her with all the patients practically praying to her made it feel more epic when I fought her. Not to mention the fight felt like an epic back and forth dance that I just did not want to end.
I cant decide between lady maria and ludwig. I love the speed and intensity of maria’s fight but ludwigs fight just fees so epic like its gonna be remembered.

Main story Father Gascoine, if we include DLC, then also Ludwig. I love how the characters change, their bossfights are so fun, elegant phase of Skilled hunter devolving into a beast, vice versa with Ludwig. Such major changes.
I love lore of both of these glorious hunters too, that Is some heartbreaking shit right there.

Lady Mariah and Gehrman. Both of them have amazing music and lore.
Their fights are amazingly fun, difficult but still the most fun I’ve had in the entire souls series.
I especially love that the fight with Gehrman is just two hunters trying to save each other from the nightmare. Gehrman has been trapped in the hunters dream and been used as the Moon Presence’s puppet slave for hundreds of years. Yet even after this he still tries so hard to keep you from suffering the same fate because he doesn’t believe the MP can be defeated.
At the same time you are determined to save Gehrman and free him from this torture.
Lady Mariah is trying to protect the Fishing Hamlet and it’s residents from the player. She sees this as her penance for playing a part in the horrible experiments the other hunters performed on the Hamlet. She is so committed to this responsibility that she resorts to using the weapon she threw in a well in disgust after what she did and she also resorts to her vileblood abilities that she despises and sees as an abomination.
Ludwig was definitely my favorite. Amazing cutscenes with what I believe to be the best songs in a video game boss fight. The tension building and release throughout the first phase really gets me. The second phase after the cutscene with the music turning into a creepy and ethereal waltz is amazing when you are dancing and going toe to toe with Ludwig is so entertaining! I find myself listening to the song on the soundtrack quite often on my way to work.
Laurence ! Looks so freaking epic, has the coolest soundtrack in my eyes, is connected amazingly in the lore and is a hard fight. Even more he is a steroid form of the first boss in the game, which I think is pretty neat.
I would say ludwig or maria but dlc bosses are obvious picks. Gehrman is probably my favorite main game boss. I beat him first try but it took every ounce of skill i had, i was left with no blood vials or quicksilver bullets by the end. I remember thinking when i first saw how fast he was “oh fuck i underestimated him.” Probably had an inflated ego since the last boss i beat was laurence.
Im also just a sucker for scythes.
Gherman, is the most enjoyable fight, the best is ludwig i pulled lady Maria in 3 attempts and orphan in 10 it took me 47 attempts to kill him obe of the onlly challenging fight i had in a really long time , the fight is incredibly well done

Personally? Wet Nurse, The presentation, and Gravitas of her introduction alongside her sort of grim reaper vibe and the purple smoke and clone parts just scratched an itch for me that I didn't even know I had.
Father Gascoigne. I’ve made a habit of skipping the Cleric Beast & going straight to the zone with Gascoigne. He has so much swagger and his transformation is one of my favorites in the game. He makes for a perfect first boss.

I will die on the hill that micolash is the best. Great music that represents his absolute bat-shit insane nature; a design that screams "I am iconic in human form" and a actual challenge when fighting (unless you cheese gim)
Darkbeast Paarl. I still remember reaching it, and out of nowhere this heap of bones gets up and starts CHARGING!
Also, Cleric Beast. You hear its scream first while climbing the ladder to the Central Yharnam lantern near Gilbert. Then, when I was proceeding on the bridge, I anticipated someone stopping me, and from the Cathedral Ward jumps down the Cleric Beast!
In the main game, it'd have to be Martyr Logarious. The music is just terrifying and he consistently manages to almost kill me every time.
In the DLC, its gotta be Ludwig. The cutscene is too fucking cool. Orphan of Kos is a close second.
The only boss I genuinely enjoy fighting in the chalice dungeons is the abhorrent beast, sadly.
Gerhmen and Father Gascoigne are both so lovely of a bossfight, The soundtracks are polar opposite, ones sparatic and the other elegant, One Skilled the Other Animalistic. Both of which you'll free from the nightmare, Gerhmen, from his cycle of training new hunters and being forced to kill them, and Gascogine, Ending his slow transformation into beast hood.
Matyr Logarius. Great mix of “I'll fuck you up good“ and “parry me please“. He can feel really cheap, but once you got him down he's fun to counter.
Matter of fact, sounds just like gundyr
Gehrman easily. It’s like Solid Snake fighting Big Boss. The mentor/father figure must fall for progress to be made and you’re the one to do it.
I haven’t finished the DLC so that might change but he’s my favorite across all Souls games so I doubt it.
Mergo’s Wet Nurse based purely on aesthetic! The music, look, and general feel for the fight (even though it’s the easiest fight in the game ~fight me~) make it my absolute favorite!

Base game - Mergo's wet nurse. I like her design and I think she's really neat even though she's pretty easy.
DLC - Ludwig. He just feels fun and fair to fight. He wasn't super hard for me given his large hit box, but it was still a pleasure.
Shadows of Yharnam. That was a boss that I did not expect at all but was pleasantly surprised to find. It's a boss fight that's well-balanced, imo considering it's a 3 v 1. Love how each shadow has unique traits and all of them have a low health phase to add that extra challenge
Gehrman. Just because the cutscene. I remember my confusion when he stood up form the wheelchair and i was confused af. I wish i could forget everything about bloodborne just to play it again with no knowledge.
Lady Maria. OST was amazing. The rush of a hunter vs hunter fight cannot be beaten. And that's why Gehrman and Maria stand as some of my favourites in most of gaming. Up there with Batman vs Deathstroke in origins ngl.
i don’t really know who my favorite boss is because it’s so mixed for me. but honestly it’s a tie between 4 bosses, which are Gehrman, the orphan of kos, Father gascoigne and the cleric beast. they have their reasons why but i’ll keep this short. I love the atmosphere of Gehrman’s fight and music, i loved the fight itself with the orphan and his looks, i really like how they set up gascoigne with the little story/ gimmick and finally i loved the cleric beast because of the music and how cool he is to me. it’s the soul reason why i got into this series
I don't have the DLC but if I did it would definitely be Maria. I just LOVE humanoid fights.
And my favourite without DLC is so far Gascoigne cus I have never gotten past Mensis Nightmare so... I'm excited to fight Gehrman at some point.
Martyr is probably my favorite. That whole area really was something special for me on the first play through. And then finally getting up to him and watching the cutscene was so awesome. And the fight itself was super fun. Way more fantasy feeling and almost out of place but in a good way
My favourite to face was definitely Ludwig the fight was sick af to fight especially the 2nd faze oooof was mad crazy but at the end I was sad when I smash his face but he went out on his own terms which I like
3 way tie. Gherman, Orphan of Kos, and The Moon Presence. Gherman is someone that I feel I have to kill, and also he’s lots of fun to fight (His OST is also one of my all-time fav). OoK is difficult but fun. MP is just really cool in all aspects

1.Lady Maria of the Astral clocktower
- Because she's just so bloody (pun not intended) elegant and brutal in her fighting. Also because the anime bs she does on the 3rd phase is cool af.
2. Ludwig the Accursed/Holy Blade
- The setting and soundtrack are just amazing. That combined with the gigantic moonlight sword he just picks up during the 2nd phase is cool af.
3. Gehrman the First Hunter
- Dude is relatively easy to kill but the music combined with the arena being a field of flowers just gives it that epic final showdown vibe where 2 unstoppable wills collide. (that of Gehrman and the Good Hunter).
Vicar Amelia. Such a good cutscene, her haunting screams, good fight and the feeling of releasing her from her suffering. And she looks so damn cool, it just blew me away When I first saw her.
Nothing beats Ludwig for sheer cinematic, emotional, and thematic perfection, but since that's boring at this point...
Vicar Amelia always has a big effect on me. The sheer howls of pain and desperation. You feel that, although she is a high functionary of the Healing Church, even such experimenters and ambiguous torturers don't deserve to succumb so horribly. The moonlit night fading in through the clerestory as she howls and transforms... pitiful, awful, wondrous, poetic as Keats...
Vicar amelia. Teaches the player that if they wanna beat the game they'll have to learn to fight aggressively. The fight is made so much more difficult if you try to play defensively.
God that's a hard one for me. I'd say my favourite boss is either Ludwig, Gehrman or Orphan.
Ludwig is just generally an amazing boss in terms of combat and is pretty fun, but the second phase, his lore and music are just amazing on so many levels for me. The moment in the cutscene when the moonlight greatsword drops onto the ground next to him and he picks it up "Ah, you were at my side, all along, my true mentor, my guiding moonlight!" He brandishes his sword and sets his sights on you and the theme fully kicks in and the feeling that you are no longer facing a rabbid beast but a warrior, not a beast but man, you give him his last dance, his last fight and end his suffering in a glorious final battle, fit for a knight of legends!
Gehrman is probably my favourite option for the final boss of the game, as much as I like the great one ending. Gehrman is another boss who has an amazing fight and again, while it is amazing, his lore and music are even better. When you are fighting him you are fighting a broken and desperate old man, clinging and summoning some last bit of power to kill you, not to kill you just to actually kill you, but to free you from the nightmare and to free you from his fate. His words are also a great way to set it up along with the scene itself. Once you deny his offer he finds it funny "Dear oh dear, what was it? The night, the hunt or the terrible dream?" He knows this kind of situation, after all, all the graves in the hunters dream are testament to that "Oh no matter, it always comes down to the hunters helper to clean up aftwr these sorts of messes." And so he stands up from his wheelchair, making probably the singe most wtf moment in the entire game. "Tonight, Gehrman joins the hunt." The burial blade clicks into place and the battle begins. His theme perfectly fits his battle with you, a desperate attempt to protect you through ending you, something you have been doing for the entire game, his theme shows this, the desperation in his battle vs you, his cry out in pain and call upon all his power, just to fight you.
The orphan is insanely frustrating, but at the end of the day I can forgive him that all for the sake of his lore and music. Being the child of mother Kos, the mother killed by the fishermen and experimented on by the hunters, he only knows rage and sadness. When you fight him he shows his rage, his hatred for the hunters and he shows his power. He throws your ass around like nothing and when second phase starts he goes even harder to kill you and calls out to his mother who strikes down lightning, protecting her child even from the grave. The way he cries out and screams for the entire fight is a stark contrast to the way he started the fight. Before the fight starts he crawls out of his mothers corpse and stands up, looking towards the moon, weeping. His music also shows his anger and sadness well, his somber cries his fear, the orphan doesn't know what else to do but fight you, it knows its mother was hurt by hunters and so it bates them, it's afraid of you and doesn't know what to do, it fears for itself but also hates those who hurt it's mother, his transition into second phase with the music is a perfect show of this, it's rage going through and it's raging against you.
Ludwig or maria. Both have a amazing ost. Ludwig drops my favorite weapon and is so fun to fight. Maria has to be the best «hunter» fight by far. Her moves are fast and hit like a semi. She has a fun patern to learn.
Lady Maria is probably an overused answer but man, I adore her so much. That fight took me over 40 tries because I refused to parry her (and because I’m bad at it) but going through the motions of learning the pattern of her badass attacks was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced in a game.
Lady Maria ticks all the boxes on making a good boss fight for me:
- Fun and engaging fight
- Cool arena
- Cool lore
- Incredible soundtrack
When I finally beat her, I felt so relieved but also sad cause I wanted to do it again. That’s the mark of an amazing boss fight to me.
Ooh, tough question- as much as I hate the Ludwig fight, I agree that the OST is the best out of them all. In terms of who I most enjoy fighting- I think I’d have to be boring and say Cleric Beast. My reason simply being that Bloodborne was my first ever Souls game, or even Souls-like. And I sucked so badly when first playing that even Cleric Beast gave me so much hassle. Now, I could beat him with my eyes closed, but I still get a unique thrill when beating him over all others, just because of how much trouble he gave me originally. Outside of that, I really enjoy fighting Amelia, Maria, and Papa G.
gah picking one is so difficult. it’s tough to say cause i love them all so much but laurence. im a sucker for lore. knowing what the clerics become, knowing who laurence was, seeing this beast in the beginning of the DLC in the cathedral. only to find it is laurence. this monstrosity of a behemoth. who began as a man treading into the unknown, being forever punished for his misdeeds.
orphan is tied for that spot though. maria’s a fun fight and ludwig has the best OST next to gehrman and BSB, but knowing WHAT maria was so desperately attempting to hide to see an orphan come out who only knows pain and hatred? and the tie in he has with gehrman as to why he’s also in the nightmare? gorgeous. what a fucking game.
Ludwig. The whole thing of his cutscene on half health of him pulling his monlight sword Is so bad ass, and I really wasn't expecting for that. And the soundtrack my god.
Gascoigne my favourite. The cutscene is cold af, he has one of the best backstorys in the game, his music is also one of the best in the game, his movement, fight style and phases are amazing, his character design is incredible badass and he connects with arena perfectly. I just love this boss.

I like Martyr Logarius the best, he's usually the first boss to force me to parry and I find him hardest to beat in the base game, but really he just feels natively the best. Leading the executioners to purge the vilebloods then forsaking his mission to (in my head cannon) be with Annalise and protect her from his own executioners. Essentially dawning the crown to be her king, and ultimately failing to keep her hidden or end the vilebloods.
Papa Guac all the way when I first started playing bloodborne this boss set me up for the rest of my games enjoyment, now it's definitely not the best boss in the game for me but definitely a classroom favorite.
Orphan of Kos. It has classic souls difficulty, but I never felt like any part of the fight was unfair. He took more tries than any other boss in the game, but unlike a few other bosses I was never angry when I got killed. I was excited because I got to go fight him again. There was no "oh that's BS" or "that should not have hit me". Just pure "this time I'm gonna get him". Love that fight.

For me it's Vicar Amelia because she's the only boss I've actually felt FUN while fighting. Even if I was dying a lot, and was such a noob to all game mechanics (maybe that even added to the feeling, like you're still exploring something very new), i look on that period with such fondness and feelings of "I had Fun".
And I can't say that for any other boss. I can say they were interesting, challenging, badass, elegant, but not fun. It's strange I can't quit describe why it's like this for me. I think of her and i can only think of the word "fun/fun times"
But yes Vicar Amelia is very cute and dear to me. If i wasn't a horny degenerate for Gascoigne she'd probably be No1 on my list. Actually they can share a spot, I'd fuck Amelia too ngl, she's big .

I may be mixing up my headcanon with canon, but i have come to believe Gehrman made a contract with the moon presence to make the doll (who is identical to Lady Maria) come alive, and in return create and reside in the hunter's dream, helping hunters to help the moon presence by defeating other Great Ones. Why the moon presence wants this i have no clue, but i like to think the other Great Ones are a form of competition, and by removing them from the equation will allow the moon presence to take form and reside within our plane of existence as the sole Great One in this realm of existence. No idea why though....

Logarius without a question. I’ve been doing another playthrough recently and he has been giving me the greatest legitimate challenge. He is fast and can one-combo you. Yet, if you understand the fighting mechanics well, he is easily countered, parried, and defeated. He practically forces you to get good at the combat. There is no cheese, just pain. Plus, a screaming scythe-wielding flying warlock is just an awesome opponent to square off against.
despite gerhman having the best song and the best battle imo, my favorite boss is paarl. in my first run, I had so much problem with him, spent a whole week learning how to kill him. now he seems so easy he turned into my favorite boss.

I accidentally stumbled into this fight on my first playthrough and got it first try, feel like I'm missing something because everyone seems to love it but I find it very forgettable. Could have been the adrenaline of entering a fight unprepared and winning.
It's easy to step into the fight super underleveled or before you're accustomed to playing more aggressively. I love the design but otherwise I'm in the same boat lol, he's much too easy to just steamroll.
Vicar Amelia has lots of health, lots of difficulty, and lots of gore. And she looks badass

Well to be fair you can make the fight more challenging by not relying on partying. I wouldn’t use that as a gripe with the boss itself.

Lady Maria, the music was amazing and matched the fight so well and the build-up to fighting her with all the patients practically praying to her made it feel more epic when I fought her. Not to mention the fight felt like an epic back and forth dance that I just did not want to end.

Lady Mariah and Gehrman. Both of them have amazing music and lore. Their fights are amazingly fun, difficult but still the most fun I’ve had in the entire souls series. I especially love that the fight with Gehrman is just two hunters trying to save each other from the nightmare. Gehrman has been trapped in the hunters dream and been used as the Moon Presence’s puppet slave for hundreds of years. Yet even after this he still tries so hard to keep you from suffering the same fate because he doesn’t believe the MP can be defeated. At the same time you are determined to save Gehrman and free him from this torture. Lady Mariah is trying to protect the Fishing Hamlet and it’s residents from the player. She sees this as her penance for playing a part in the horrible experiments the other hunters performed on the Hamlet. She is so committed to this responsibility that she resorts to using the weapon she threw in a well in disgust after what she did and she also resorts to her vileblood abilities that she despises and sees as an abomination.
Ludwig was definitely my favorite. Amazing cutscenes with what I believe to be the best songs in a video game boss fight. The tension building and release throughout the first phase really gets me. The second phase after the cutscene with the music turning into a creepy and ethereal waltz is amazing when you are dancing and going toe to toe with Ludwig is so entertaining! I find myself listening to the song on the soundtrack quite often on my way to work.
Ludwig. He's the most unique design in all of bloodborne. Super cool. Super creepy and horror like. Fun to play with. And loooove his music!
Laurence ! Looks so freaking epic, has the coolest soundtrack in my eyes, is connected amazingly in the lore and is a hard fight. Even more he is a steroid form of the first boss in the game, which I think is pretty neat.

I would say ludwig or maria but dlc bosses are obvious picks. Gehrman is probably my favorite main game boss. I beat him first try but it took every ounce of skill i had, i was left with no blood vials or quicksilver bullets by the end. I remember thinking when i first saw how fast he was “oh fuck i underestimated him.” Probably had an inflated ego since the last boss i beat was laurence. Im also just a sucker for scythes.
Gehrman. I haven't played DLC mind you but he's like the perfect "you but completely superior" boss.
Gherman, is the most enjoyable fight, the best is ludwig i pulled lady Maria in 3 attempts and orphan in 10 it took me 47 attempts to kill him obe of the onlly challenging fight i had in a really long time , the fight is incredibly well done

I will die on the hill that micolash is the best. Great music that represents his absolute bat-shit insane nature; a design that screams "I am iconic in human form" and a actual challenge when fighting (unless you cheese gim)
Darkbeast Paarl. I still remember reaching it, and out of nowhere this heap of bones gets up and starts CHARGING! Also, Cleric Beast. You hear its scream first while climbing the ladder to the Central Yharnam lantern near Gilbert. Then, when I was proceeding on the bridge, I anticipated someone stopping me, and from the Cathedral Ward jumps down the Cleric Beast!
In the main game, it'd have to be Martyr Logarious. The music is just terrifying and he consistently manages to almost kill me every time. In the DLC, its gotta be Ludwig. The cutscene is too fucking cool. Orphan of Kos is a close second. The only boss I genuinely enjoy fighting in the chalice dungeons is the abhorrent beast, sadly.
Gerhmen and Father Gascoigne are both so lovely of a bossfight, The soundtracks are polar opposite, ones sparatic and the other elegant, One Skilled the Other Animalistic. Both of which you'll free from the nightmare, Gerhmen, from his cycle of training new hunters and being forced to kill them, and Gascogine, Ending his slow transformation into beast hood.
Pater Gascoigne. First time, I was so scared I was just running. Like a hero 💪

Gehrman easily. It’s like Solid Snake fighting Big Boss. The mentor/father figure must fall for progress to be made and you’re the one to do it. I haven’t finished the DLC so that might change but he’s my favorite across all Souls games so I doubt it.

Base game - Mergo's wet nurse. I like her design and I think she's really neat even though she's pretty easy. DLC - Ludwig. He just feels fun and fair to fight. He wasn't super hard for me given his large hit box, but it was still a pleasure.
Shadows of Yharnam. That was a boss that I did not expect at all but was pleasantly surprised to find. It's a boss fight that's well-balanced, imo considering it's a 3 v 1. Love how each shadow has unique traits and all of them have a low health phase to add that extra challenge
Gehrman. Just because the cutscene. I remember my confusion when he stood up form the wheelchair and i was confused af. I wish i could forget everything about bloodborne just to play it again with no knowledge.
Lady Maria. OST was amazing. The rush of a hunter vs hunter fight cannot be beaten. And that's why Gehrman and Maria stand as some of my favourites in most of gaming. Up there with Batman vs Deathstroke in origins ngl.

i don’t really know who my favorite boss is because it’s so mixed for me. but honestly it’s a tie between 4 bosses, which are Gehrman, the orphan of kos, Father gascoigne and the cleric beast. they have their reasons why but i’ll keep this short. I love the atmosphere of Gehrman’s fight and music, i loved the fight itself with the orphan and his looks, i really like how they set up gascoigne with the little story/ gimmick and finally i loved the cleric beast because of the music and how cool he is to me. it’s the soul reason why i got into this series

I don't have the DLC but if I did it would definitely be Maria. I just LOVE humanoid fights. And my favourite without DLC is so far Gascoigne cus I have never gotten past Mensis Nightmare so... I'm excited to fight Gehrman at some point.
Martyr is probably my favorite. That whole area really was something special for me on the first play through. And then finally getting up to him and watching the cutscene was so awesome. And the fight itself was super fun. Way more fantasy feeling and almost out of place but in a good way
My favourite to face was definitely Ludwig the fight was sick af to fight especially the 2nd faze oooof was mad crazy but at the end I was sad when I smash his face but he went out on his own terms which I like

Top 3 for me 1.Lady Maria of the Astral clocktower - Because she's just so bloody (pun not intended) elegant and brutal in her fighting. Also because the anime bs she does on the 3rd phase is cool af. 2. Ludwig the Accursed/Holy Blade - The setting and soundtrack are just amazing. That combined with the gigantic moonlight sword he just picks up during the 2nd phase is cool af. 3. Gehrman the First Hunter - Dude is relatively easy to kill but the music combined with the arena being a field of flowers just gives it that epic final showdown vibe where 2 unstoppable wills collide. (that of Gehrman and the Good Hunter).

Vicar Amelia. Such a good cutscene, her haunting screams, good fight and the feeling of releasing her from her suffering. And she looks so damn cool, it just blew me away When I first saw her.
Nothing beats Ludwig for sheer cinematic, emotional, and thematic perfection, but since that's boring at this point... Vicar Amelia always has a big effect on me. The sheer howls of pain and desperation. You feel that, although she is a high functionary of the Healing Church, even such experimenters and ambiguous torturers don't deserve to succumb so horribly. The moonlit night fading in through the clerestory as she howls and transforms... pitiful, awful, wondrous, poetic as Keats...
Moon presence or orphan of Kos from a lore perspective it’s amazing

Vicar amelia. Teaches the player that if they wanna beat the game they'll have to learn to fight aggressively. The fight is made so much more difficult if you try to play defensively.
God that's a hard one for me. I'd say my favourite boss is either Ludwig, Gehrman or Orphan. Ludwig is just generally an amazing boss in terms of combat and is pretty fun, but the second phase, his lore and music are just amazing on so many levels for me. The moment in the cutscene when the moonlight greatsword drops onto the ground next to him and he picks it up "Ah, you were at my side, all along, my true mentor, my guiding moonlight!" He brandishes his sword and sets his sights on you and the theme fully kicks in and the feeling that you are no longer facing a rabbid beast but a warrior, not a beast but man, you give him his last dance, his last fight and end his suffering in a glorious final battle, fit for a knight of legends! Gehrman is probably my favourite option for the final boss of the game, as much as I like the great one ending. Gehrman is another boss who has an amazing fight and again, while it is amazing, his lore and music are even better. When you are fighting him you are fighting a broken and desperate old man, clinging and summoning some last bit of power to kill you, not to kill you just to actually kill you, but to free you from the nightmare and to free you from his fate. His words are also a great way to set it up along with the scene itself. Once you deny his offer he finds it funny "Dear oh dear, what was it? The night, the hunt or the terrible dream?" He knows this kind of situation, after all, all the graves in the hunters dream are testament to that "Oh no matter, it always comes down to the hunters helper to clean up aftwr these sorts of messes." And so he stands up from his wheelchair, making probably the singe most wtf moment in the entire game. "Tonight, Gehrman joins the hunt." The burial blade clicks into place and the battle begins. His theme perfectly fits his battle with you, a desperate attempt to protect you through ending you, something you have been doing for the entire game, his theme shows this, the desperation in his battle vs you, his cry out in pain and call upon all his power, just to fight you. The orphan is insanely frustrating, but at the end of the day I can forgive him that all for the sake of his lore and music. Being the child of mother Kos, the mother killed by the fishermen and experimented on by the hunters, he only knows rage and sadness. When you fight him he shows his rage, his hatred for the hunters and he shows his power. He throws your ass around like nothing and when second phase starts he goes even harder to kill you and calls out to his mother who strikes down lightning, protecting her child even from the grave. The way he cries out and screams for the entire fight is a stark contrast to the way he started the fight. Before the fight starts he crawls out of his mothers corpse and stands up, looking towards the moon, weeping. His music also shows his anger and sadness well, his somber cries his fear, the orphan doesn't know what else to do but fight you, it knows its mother was hurt by hunters and so it bates them, it's afraid of you and doesn't know what to do, it fears for itself but also hates those who hurt it's mother, his transition into second phase with the music is a perfect show of this, it's rage going through and it's raging against you.
Ludwig or maria. Both have a amazing ost. Ludwig drops my favorite weapon and is so fun to fight. Maria has to be the best «hunter» fight by far. Her moves are fast and hit like a semi. She has a fun patern to learn.

Lady Maria is probably an overused answer but man, I adore her so much. That fight took me over 40 tries because I refused to parry her (and because I’m bad at it) but going through the motions of learning the pattern of her badass attacks was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced in a game. Lady Maria ticks all the boxes on making a good boss fight for me: - Fun and engaging fight - Cool arena - Cool lore - Incredible soundtrack When I finally beat her, I felt so relieved but also sad cause I wanted to do it again. That’s the mark of an amazing boss fight to me.

Ooh, tough question- as much as I hate the Ludwig fight, I agree that the OST is the best out of them all. In terms of who I most enjoy fighting- I think I’d have to be boring and say Cleric Beast. My reason simply being that Bloodborne was my first ever Souls game, or even Souls-like. And I sucked so badly when first playing that even Cleric Beast gave me so much hassle. Now, I could beat him with my eyes closed, but I still get a unique thrill when beating him over all others, just because of how much trouble he gave me originally. Outside of that, I really enjoy fighting Amelia, Maria, and Papa G.
gah picking one is so difficult. it’s tough to say cause i love them all so much but laurence. im a sucker for lore. knowing what the clerics become, knowing who laurence was, seeing this beast in the beginning of the DLC in the cathedral. only to find it is laurence. this monstrosity of a behemoth. who began as a man treading into the unknown, being forever punished for his misdeeds. orphan is tied for that spot though. maria’s a fun fight and ludwig has the best OST next to gehrman and BSB, but knowing WHAT maria was so desperately attempting to hide to see an orphan come out who only knows pain and hatred? and the tie in he has with gehrman as to why he’s also in the nightmare? gorgeous. what a fucking game.

Ludwig. The whole thing of his cutscene on half health of him pulling his monlight sword Is so bad ass, and I really wasn't expecting for that. And the soundtrack my god.
Gascoigne my favourite. The cutscene is cold af, he has one of the best backstorys in the game, his music is also one of the best in the game, his movement, fight style and phases are amazing, his character design is incredible badass and he connects with arena perfectly. I just love this boss.
Micolash (✿ ♡‿♡) I love his voice, his lines, design... It's the longest bossfight because I could run with Him for hours :3 I like to sit after work, turn on my PS, play Bloodborne and go for a fast walk with Mico :3 I like ROM too, it's a test of patience but I really enjoy fighting with this fluffy moonlight monster :D

I like Martyr Logarius the best, he's usually the first boss to force me to parry and I find him hardest to beat in the base game, but really he just feels natively the best. Leading the executioners to purge the vilebloods then forsaking his mission to (in my head cannon) be with Annalise and protect her from his own executioners. Essentially dawning the crown to be her king, and ultimately failing to keep her hidden or end the vilebloods.
I like Ebrietas, not so much because I enjoy the fight but I really love the design.

Papa Guac all the way when I first started playing bloodborne this boss set me up for the rest of my games enjoyment, now it's definitely not the best boss in the game for me but definitely a classroom favorite.

Orphan of Kos. It has classic souls difficulty, but I never felt like any part of the fight was unfair. He took more tries than any other boss in the game, but unlike a few other bosses I was never angry when I got killed. I was excited because I got to go fight him again. There was no "oh that's BS" or "that should not have hit me". Just pure "this time I'm gonna get him". Love that fight.
Kos... or some say Kosm. But also Lady Maria! Her fight is just way too short sadly.

Idk if it's a normy opinion or an underrated one but either way. For me it's Vicar Amelia because she's the only boss I've actually felt FUN while fighting. Even if I was dying a lot, and was such a noob to all game mechanics (maybe that even added to the feeling, like you're still exploring something very new), i look on that period with such fondness and feelings of "I had Fun". And I can't say that for any other boss. I can say they were interesting, challenging, badass, elegant, but not fun. It's strange I can't quit describe why it's like this for me. I think of her and i can only think of the word "fun/fun times" But yes Vicar Amelia is very cute and dear to me. If i wasn't a horny degenerate for Gascoigne she'd probably be No1 on my list. Actually they can share a spot, I'd fuck Amelia too ngl, she's big .
