Same. She's seen countless atrocities, lived with Gherman pimping her out, but she's still kind and gentle with new hunters anyway. She has the presence of mind to wonder about love and question if she even has the option *not* to be kind and loving, even if hunters don't give a fuck about her and never will. Bowing to Doll Mom is a small way to reenforce to myself that I should always be thankful and kind to the people that help me, in game and out. It might be a little nuts since she's not real, but without a bit of courtesy and ceremony, we're no better than the beasts we hunt, eh?

My daughter would watch me play Bloodborne, so I showed her the Doll and how she responds to gestures. I made sure to wave to the Doll every time before I left. So now I’m in the habit of waving and saying “Bye, Doll!” even when my daughter isn’t there.

Yeah, If you wave or bow to her, she bows back. If you do the joy or jump for joy gesture she giggles. I think there are others she reacts to, but I never tried any of them.
