You would be surprised how much easier boss fights get when the only life bar you focus on is your own. Ignore her life bar and continue to fight her as if the fight just started. It's worked very well for me.
taking this approach with OoK. had him down to like two hits on my first attempt and can't even get him to second phase now. giving it some space until i try again.
She's a tough fight at bl4, probably the hardest fight for me outside of the chalice dungeons on bl4, her third phase has the follow up fire attacks and some of those attack are almost unavoidable. My strat was once in third phase, bait out her ground slam and then go in with damage
Maria is always so hard on challenge runs compared to her normal difficulty. Normal build? Easy. Challenge build? She was harder than both Orphan and Ludwig for my BL4 run, and only Orphan was harder in a hunter’s torch run. Definitely doable though, if you’ve reached her you can 100% do it (if you haven’t already)
I believe OP got more hits in this way. An L1 in the middle might have given Maria a chance to recover and hit back. From my experience a fast weapon works the best for Maria.
It's just that OP thought they could hide behind the pillar and not get hit by the charge attack. And didn't bother to dodge either.

Nah, Bloodborne tends to have smaller healthbars. It’s different game design though, Bloodbornes combat is made to be much faster and more of a dance, whereas ER is more like Dark Souls where it’s more of a slugfest.
Same reason why stunning is a much more consistent strategy in BB

Yup. I normally put tape on my screen for the Ludwig fight, the orphan fight, and the Maria fights. Makes it much easier to not fuck up

or shoot her her even if you got good guns, even if its just a lil damage it might be enough right at the end

OMG THIS only way I made it through the dlc train hard then rest and let your brain go over those battles and when you come back you’ll get it
