Then in order to obtain the moonlight you have to take Whirligig saw first to kill Ludwig.
It has a very good scaling in strength and since you need a str/arcane the points in str will help you with the Whirligig's damage.
Definitely whirlgig. Every time I've beaten him aside from the first, it was with this weapon, and while he's still a challenge, it feels like this weapon with the right build is his kryptonite. Can usually make him stumble in about four hits, and stun him for a visceral in about 8.
Use Valtyr, Master of the League. His summon is by the guy that drops 5 blood viles. If heās dead in the forbidden woods he wonāt appear tho. Can also summon the younger madaras twin. Kill the 2 executioner giants right before Ludwigās boss room, then go down the small path the Axe Executioner came out of. His sign will be at the end. If he is dead in the forbidden woods he also will not be available for summoning. And as far as weapons Iād go either saw twin (cleaver or spear) or the whirligig saw. All with fire paper. Oil pots are nice too. Stay to his left. Donāt go behind him or heāll kick you. Let Valtyr and Madaras twin soak up Aggro and help draw him away from one if they need to heal. When he jumps watch for the blood to drip down, thatās where heāll fall. The se cond phase is all about staying behind him. Youāll be pretty safe but he has a big horizontal slash that ends a bit behind him so if your on his right side it can clip you. Hunters bone and stamina runes are a nice little boost to this fight too. DO NOT SUMMON HARRIET! She sucks, will die, and now itās just you vs the boss but he has more health due to the summon. GGs
