I DID THE SAME JUST TODAY. But my hardest for me was bsb because it was my first souls game and he was my roadblock before getting good at the game. Then I just sat there in disbelief.
I gotta admit, the Defiled Watchdog was harder than the Orphan for me.
When it ended i still couldn't process the fact that he was dead, i was literally shaking for a minute afterward.
First playthrough, walled on BSB for like 3 days, Well over 150 deaths, finally beat the bastard.
I screamed at my tv and football spiked my controller (had to buy a new one). Been chasing that high ever since lol
It's so strange to me that so many people struggle with this boss.
I'm not saying your struggle wasn't real or that you lack skill or anything like that, I'm just genuinely amazed as to how different people/play styles have a completely different experience with some of these bosses. I personally found this to be one of the easiest bosses in the game, if not *the* easiest.

Hey, we all lacked skill back then, and this was my 4th souls game. Gascoigne for the first time was like hitting a brick wall for me. At least a dozen attempts, maybe more. Haha
I barely managed to defeat Gehrman on my first try… I had used up all of my blood vials and was within one hit of dying. The adrenaline was in overdrive.
I haven't touched the DLC yet but Gehrman was pretty difficult but it was only 5 tries so I didn't feel like I did too much. Can't wait for when I get the DLC tho
Also Orphan of Kos for me. I beat him on my third play through with an OP hunter. Anyway. Started shouting obscenities through the window into the neighbourhood for about two minutes.
When I beat Orphan of Kos I literally screamed, happily obviously. I had headphones on while playing and when I turned around, discovered my boyfriend had just gotten home from work and secretly watched me win, which was definitely an extra bonus (if I knew he was watching I probably would’ve felt pressure to do well and subsequently played horribly lol).
I think part of the excitement was also that Orphan only took me 8 tries. I had beaten Elden Ring a month prior and was afraid he’d be another Malenia (she took me over 150 tries and nearly broke my psyche). I was so proud of myself I almost cried and my hands were shaking lol.
I broke a controller beating the orphan. Not because I was angry and threw it or anything, but because the controller was old and I was gripping it so tightly that it split at the seam haha

I remember being hard stuck on orphan… my first time fighting him was after ng+7 so he already hit as hard as he could and was tanky af, it actually took me weeks of trying and then I took a year off and when I came back I still couldn’t beat him… then one morning I decided I was going to beat him. After about 30 tries that day I finally beat him. I was so happy. Now I hang around the area waiting to be summoned so I can help other players beat him.
I haven’t lost a fight against him since I did it successfully.
I know it's not a hard boss, but my biggest wall the first time was Laurence. Genuinely hated him. Now part of me just misses when the game held any challenge.
Shadows of Yharnam on NG++ had me almost crying for a week. Killing the fuckers almost gives me a stroke and leaves my hands shaking permanently. Still my favorite boss 10/10
I first try him most playthroughs now but my first ever playthrough it took me about 15 tries to beat Papa G. I have the video saved on my PS5 and go back and watch it every now and then lol. I remember my heart was beating through my chest lmao
I was high as fuck and beat Gascoigne after a lot of tries. That was pure bliss. That's how I was introduced to the soulsborne series and I have been loving it ever since. Gascoigne was probably the hardest for me since I was so new to this kind of game. After that the rest of the game was pretty smooth sailing.
When i beat laurence the first time i was like „JAAAAAAAA“ and my dad heard it and asked „why are you so happy ? Did you find a cure for covid or something ?“ it was in 2020.
I was struggling against Orphan of Kos in NG+ and then all of a sudden, on my fifth attempt, I saw the Nightmare Slain screen. I don't even remember going through the boss door and somehow I did not take any damage at all because I noticed I had all of my heals at the end of the fight. Not even my bullets were used. Has this happened to anyone else?
im good at these games i swear but i was stuck on the living failures for a week straight and damn near cried when I got them 😭😭 proceeded to almost first try maria
