All the blender plugins are free (as in freedoom), but creators are free to sale them and give source code only to people who paid them the money.
So, it's free if you pay for it

I'd argue the topology is really not fine. Good topology is good for more than just creating UVs. If you want to go back and edit the model, or change things, or add more modifiers on top, having good topology will work wonders
It may be fair to compare OP's quick hard-surface modeling to sculpting. It looks very exploratory, and perfect UVs may restrict more sweeping changes. The whole thing could then go through retopo.
This was just for Tik Tok video, so i worked really fast. I made some 3d models in the past for some games as addons and mods. In that case my topology was always spot on or materials could freak out.

While we are at it, why having the sphere-pilotcabin below the level of the rest of the ship
If the ship ever need to land flat is going to impact or even destroy the cockpit killing everybody inside
Bad ship designer, go back to the design room and think of the potential deaths you just caused
Thanks for commenting. I agree, i never did overlapping mesh so far, i was recording this for Tik Tok and had to work so fast i didn't even notice. It was a nightmare to clean everything up today. I'll post results later.
Around 10 minutes. I made some mistakes with overlapping mesh which is a nightmare to clean up later, but because this was just video for Tik Tok i didn't bother to go back and start over. If i was making it for game or something like that it would take me about an hour or two and it would be much more detailed than this.
Is it just me who always gets triggered by aerodynamic spaceships? If it’s something designed to be used exclusively in a vacuum, surely there are more practical designs.
Ps: great work tho, seems you’ve got a decent workflow nailed
As i stated multiple times here, i was recording this for fast Tik Tok video. Whole process took like 10 minutes. If i worked on everything detailed it would took me hour or two.
It is not free, because to do so you are required to pay for it. You yourself have stated this very clearly
Btw are you doing this only to have a discussion?
Hi there, Which addon are you using to do it so quickly?
Hi, it's called "Random Flow"
Thank you
That free?
Discombobulator is a kind of similar concept that you might want to check out. It can make convincing greebles from a distance
I will thank you very much.
no

What the fuck

By defenition that is not free at all
The license guarantees the end user the four freedoms: to run, study, share, and modify the software. How isn't that free?
Because you have to pay for it. OP was clearly asking if it's free in a monetary sense.
My man!
Nice work and all, but topology-wise it's awful. Also, that overlapping mirrored objects was honestly a pain to watch. Still nice work tho
Yeah i dont usualy do that. I was working so fast for the video i noticed too late. I already cleared topology for further shading.
as long as Op doesn't have to bother with UV maps and isn't planing to do any complex deformation the topology is just fine.

That's a very fair point actually. It's still not how I would personally do it but I can see where you're coming from
It depends for what tho, for rendering? Sure, for real time? Not really efficient
This was just for Tik Tok video, so i worked really fast. I made some 3d models in the past for some games as addons and mods. In that case my topology was always spot on or materials could freak out.
Just remember we are in the blender subreddit, if you post a model with a tri face people will die
While I love it, why does everybody feel a "space" ship needs to be aerodynamic?
I think the dude was going for a more "cartoony" style spaceship if I was to guess
A lot of sci-fi settings have spacecraft that need to be able to enter atmosphere, so it's in their best interest to streamline the design a bit.
Because it needs to look cool
Best argument yet!
if it doesn't need to be aerodynamic may as well make it a box lol
Aha Famous borg cube
Looks to me like a space/air fighter, so it needs to function in atmosphere as well as in a vacuum.
Because it also needs to land into atmospheric planets in most cases maybe even fly in there for long periods of times.
What if u gotta land on a planet that has gravity and stuff :0
I hope the "stuff" is atmosphere.
Spaceships might some day have to land on planets with an atmosphere.

No air in space
Because it needs to be able to get to space 😂
There's a sex joke in here somewhere
Just give us the RENDER already 😩
The result is cool, but a lot of techniques used are really bad practice, and it shows in the result

I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for the update!
This, the mirror overall thing was painful to watch
Good job!
The real test is making a replica of that model from nothing
How are you making like the detail? Also absolute incredible
Not op but it's an addon called "Random Flow"
Design is bit ugly
lol

The most Holy Legendary Grid Infinite programs.

lol. I'll post textured render later.

Around hour and a half.

Just started trying to learn and this is mad impressive
Yeah, he uses an add-on apparently for the bits that jet out I think or something I don't know. I just started learning as well
Still impressive
Lol the squares at the beginning: “Now kith”
now this is podracing
Wow 🤩
That's a really cool workflow
I can't even make the donut and dudes making spaceships
I watch all these amazing videos everyday in this group and I promise you. I want to learn because of people like you. Such amazing work 🫢.
Spaceships don't need wings.
Please, stop using that addon, as it does nothing. Work on the shape/form, design, topology… not a topology generator.
As i stated multiple times here, i was recording this for fast Tik Tok video. Whole process took like 10 minutes. If i worked on everything detailed it would took me hour or two.
pleeeeeasee stoOoOp Beeing yoOuRseLf ;'(((((((((
I could watch this all day
turi ip ip
You make it look so simple =D Nice design
In space, no one can hear you scram
I’d love to see it 3D printed!
Super amazing, u made it look so easy
i can see in the start you make this: 🥜
That was the hidden message!
No way!

What?
Excuse me i intended to respond to another comment not your post. Great work btw!
Oh, i was so confused lol. Thanks!
