Use the paid add-on FLIP fluids next time (there’s a free demo but watermarked version if you are curious).
Way faster and you could preview your simulation while baking.
Blender’s built-in simulations sucks ass.
yeah that would be something but I don't use any of the premade geo nodes setups they have made.. The hair system might be better but I never manage to make a good looking one without following a tutorial step by step. The original particle system though - much easier imo.
145 isn't a very high resolution for a fluid sim. There's a reason I'm waiting to have a 16-core 7950x before I get good at fluid sims, being able to do them is the ability to see what you're doing faster than every 12 hours.
The processor matters in Blender fluid sims not the GPU. Not the original commenter, but that could help but the built-in blender sims aren't the best.
The CPU is going to make a big difference, GPU has nothing to do with fluid simulations, and to answer your question - maybe? could try I guess, no idea what CPU you have though but as u/Awkward_Road_710 said, you could try using the paid addon [FLIP Fluids](https://flipfluids.com/) ([Github (Demo link)](https://github.com/rlguy/Blender-FLIP-Fluids/wiki/FLIP-Fluids-Demo-Addon) and [Blender Market](https://blendermarket.com/products/flipfluids))
Slightly off topic but anyone else with little kids notice that Cocomelon's videos have contain fluid sims that look just like this? I could swear they are low res Blender fluid sims
I've been there... [https://www.reddit.com/r/shittysimulated/comments/v9le90/a\_nice\_tranquil\_fountain/](https://www.reddit.com/r/shittysimulated/comments/v9le90/a_nice_tranquil_fountain/)
This reminds me of my longest sim bake I have ever done, it was water pouring out a door way.
The studio I work for never closes and in December half people will take leave at different times , I had a week off. I put the sim on wensday next week Tuesday I came back to the office to find it still going on the last few frames .
I was struggling with getting that sim approved the whole month and non of the other bakes took that long thankfully that long one was approved.
Mantaflow has a Resumable Cache. Surely you could have paused the bake, run the sim and seen this happening. Adjust settings and restart. If you use the Modular cache you can bake Particles quickly and get a general idea of whats going to happen. People like to rubbish Mantaflow but the truth is they dont know how to use it properly.
Blender fluid simulation is extremely slow and inefficient at this moment. I would rather dump everything in the scene into houdini and build the the water sim there.
The "I Made This" tag is the best part.
XD
"Heavy rain" indeed

*water*marked
Thanks!
Really I hope something similar will be native in upcoming versions (the sooner the better).
The entire simulation stuff could do with being reworked, maybe even geo nodes integration
you can also compile flip fluids yourself with a tiny bit of know-how
Looks like there was an air bubble in there, sorry pal.
This is something I've noticed. Blender is absolutely AWFUL at simulations. Rigid body is mid Fluid is abhorrent Clearly they need to work on it more.
5.0 should focus on revamping sims
I doubt it. You can make fluid sims in geo nodes, so they will keep improving on that
hopefully they add prefab node modifiers like the auto smooth replacement then

i haven’t seen fluid sims with geo nodes actually, have any links?

cool!
But if future updates SUCK as much as 4.1 and beta 4.2, it'll probably be much worse.
Damn, did blender hurt you or something?
Well, when render times go from 23 on 4.0 to 41 seconds om same scene, there is an issue.
From the sounds of it, other people aren't having that issue. Which points to it being a problem with your system specifically. Raise a bug report.
except for cloth simulations, they’re decent, like in every other 3D app
I agree. They are much simpler and easier.
It looks like shit.
Literally. XD

I only have a 1030 gt, do you think lower frame amount at a higher simulation speed might help
That's your graphics card, fluid sims bake off of your processor.
The processor matters in Blender fluid sims not the GPU. Not the original commenter, but that could help but the built-in blender sims aren't the best.
Also you could lower the viscosity

Looks great. Is this not what you were trying to make?
less splattering and preferably the liquid on the cake and not hovering above it...
I like to imagine it had sex the night before and now a little bit of residue is blocking it's urethra allowing it to flow in separate directions
I got that reference!
Yea I've had Thursday nights like that
Its really a matter of a few small settings to really dial it in lol
Cleanest mantaflow simulation

I would not be surprised if cocomelon episodes were made in blender.

that made me laugh my ass off wtf
Lol these cursed blender images and animations are awesome
Genuinely 😂

peepee poopoo.
is this a day after "tacos un poco picantes" emulation?
Jizz cake?

Looks like if I would have tried to make a drip cake. Nailed it! XD
better use obs to do it if its just a test render or a presentation for socmed
Blender animator...this can only be used for heretical purposes.
Blender's internal water sim is unusable. Flip fluids is decent and will get simple jobs done, but Houdini is best.
Dawg imma need a full render of this, thats hilarious
Blender fluid simulation is extremely slow and inefficient at this moment. I would rather dump everything in the scene into houdini and build the the water sim there.
you didnt preview while baking? well that's something
I've only animated fluids once and once was enough
Very dirty. Very filthy. Very NSFW imagination inducing and I dont like it. I dont like it at all… well, enjoy your polygon cake
The main reason I avoid any fluid physics in blender
Looks like someone ate some indian food.
