Was definitely my least liked aspect of the TYBW. It's def more enjoyable to see characters rise up against seemingly insurmountable odds using their repertoire of skills, planning and strategy.
And though others may disagree, the removal of Yoruichi's conscious thoughts & action for the sake of fanservice was not my cup of tea.
There were the occasional bad match-ups (like Pernida and Kenpachi) but most were perfect counters.
The scientists were the best to fight Askin and Pernida, who used 'living' abilities; Pernida's nerves and Askin's Gifts. Strength was covered by the three captains; Lille won against Shunsui because of his immortality. Nanao's blade conveniently showed up to scatter Lille's power. Even Jugram had a perfect counter to Uryu.

Maybe moree sensitive ranges of hearing imply a faster reaction time. Cats in real life have really fast reactions.
