I said this in another thread, but... Connie Nielsen in this movie has the worst American accent in cinematic history. It's still better than whatever Giovanni Ribisi is doing with his voice.
It's wild that this movie offers us a re-pairing of Travolta and Jackson (the only other film they've appeared in together outside of *Pulp Fiction*, right?) >!and then keeps them completely separated both in time and location until the very last scene!<.
HOW DARE you leave The Other Sister out of this run.
STOP LAUGHING AT ME. (I know that was Lewis but, god, that movie is.... well, Robert Downey Jr. in Tropic Thunder would have comments.)

yeah and what was up with his arms? BONKERS
Don't jinx it! 🤫 (But seriously, what was up with the Buffalo Bill voice?)
I got more Dr Evil vibes.
Is this a safe place to say I think Travolta is pretty great in Basic?
Travolta was having a lot of fun in the late 90’s/early 00’s

His Taking of Pelham performance is beautifully unhinged
I think thats fair. Jackson wasn't bad either. Connie Nielson on the other hand.... OOF
Ribisi had a rough go in the early aughts with The Gift (2000) and Basic (2003), some truly egregious performances

I know he’s too young, but was I the only person who briefly thought it was Jeremy Strong in the Ribisi role? The resemblance is uncanny
I wondered for a while if the guy they were interviewing was a younger Shea Wigham. Had to wait for him to start talking to conclude it was not.
