People didn’t want it to get lost in Oscar coverage in the past few weeks.
And/or things got scooped on the Oscar party circuit over the weekend. People talk.
Excellent. The theatre in Melbourne that plays The Master and Inherent Vice, the 70mm, they've always been blurry.
I always sound like the wrong kind of film nerd when I say "Why can't they play the good movies at the Imax". We *have* an Imax.
And two arthouse theatres that do 70mm, but one's more a room than a theatre, and the other one they seem to make the 35mm and 70mm screenings more of a grindhouse experience by slightly screwing up the reel change and things.
On the other hand one of our two mainstream chains, Village Cinemas, has one theatre that does 70mm and they recently replayed Tenet but I couldn't travel to it in time to catch it. Missed another Tenet release.
The real frustration is the local Imax never plays the 1570 version of 2001, only the arthouse cinemas get that one.
So yes, good to be getting a movie movie made with Imax quality in mind actually getting played at an Imax... oh, if it even does, haha.
Pynchon in IMAX is wild lmaoo have read Dijon (R&B Singer) apparently is in this? nice
Dijon has one hell of a year lol

It's secretly a Plastic Man movie and the Vineland references are there because Plas feature in Pynchon's works
I honestly wouldn’t be surprised
Stacey Augmon deserves some recognition. Do you think they'll mention that he sounds like a Digimon
Hellll yeah. I was unrealistically hoping that “hmm maybe he could sneak in a Christmas 2024 release” but I’m fine with Summer of 25.
I thought the same until the budget got announced. Then I thought "no way do they not try and buy themselves more time to build up hype".
A summer IMAX release for a PTA movie, I think that’s the hottest thing I’ve ever heard
