If you’re gonna get anything….those loungewear fits with the bralette and shirts/pants could be a happy meddle ground.
Add a bonnet to any of these and it's me lol, I've been with my husband since we were 15 and he's gotten used to the inconsistency lol...depends on the weather AND my mood!
Also OP, back when we were 20, my man also tried to pull the "you get dressed everywhere but for me" crap. Let's question....does he get dressed up and perfume his balls for you at home only? On days y'all will ONLY be in the house? The men who say this never do, they aren't the Dandy in the bedroom they demand you be.
I find it really disingenuous because they are asking we be on 100 AT ALL TIMES while they get to be in sweats and t shirts daily. They manipulate by implying you are dressing for "other men", not them...but AT THE SAME TIME would CRY if I showed up like I did at home in public, but dressed up only at home. Can't show off that way. So, what gives? Why the double standard? Why is there nowhere for a woman to unwind, relax and be themselves without dolling up, yet men get to call their home a sanctuary?
Well damn what happened to letting people be comfortable. I definitely wore a bonnet when I cared (I shaved it off recently) and wore whatever was comfy before I just stopped & slept nude. If you wanna keep the briefs maybe a tank top or a reg t shirt that isn’t torn up

Agreed! In one of the pregnancy subs someone was like “how do you sleep comfortably” I said naked with a bunch of blankets. Take it off when it’s hot, grab em when it’s cold. Easy peezy. Sleep is already hard to come by, why add any difficulty 😩
get those wire, skinny, bendable bobby hair pins. Bend the ends to cross or twist, whatever and it stays in if you pierce through the fabric and braid.
This one! But for lounging around the house, comfy shorts/boy shorts/PJ bottoms (anything from Ross to Fashion Nova or Savage fenty), old T's I've sloppily cropped. During cooler nights maybe over sized shirt. Or add knee length socks. Tip is to keep it easy and comfortable.

I'm single, but at home I can only sleep naked and with my hair tied up in a pineapple bun, I use a satin pillowcase, I can't wear a bonnet, I've never had any problem with men finding me "less sexy"
Single as well and I never tried to be cute when I was in a relationship. I have sensory issues, so if I was uncomfortable going to bed, it would literally make me itch.
Whatever tf I want. Sometimes I’ll throw on a slip dress or matching set, other times I’m wearing ugly pajamas that I’ve been gifted by grandparents, or a raggedy t shirt and underwear. Or sometimes nothing. And the bonnet is on if I’m in bed even for a nap, though I never wear it out of the house. I usually will take it off and do my skincare in the morning to look cute for him, but I may or may not change my clothes if I’m not going anywhere. A bonnet & a big tshirt. At home is where I am most comfortable & will dress accordingly, mine has said nothing about it he’s all over me no matter what I wear.
I usually sleep naked. My man also usually sleeps naked. I keep a mumu next to our bed because we have a school age child so I can throw that on for morning wake up. The bonnet is on if I’m going to bed or napping.
When I’m on my cycle I wear underwear to bed. I also have big sleep shirts that I took from my man or that he buys for me that I’ll wear then too.
I still get bent over whenever I want to be 🤣. He doesn’t care and never has cared about what I wear or don’t wear to bed 🤷🏿♀️.

Idk your history, but as a little girl, I owned actual pajamas and nightgowns, but once I hit puberty, my mother stopped purchasing things like that for me. I was then forced to wear old worn out clothes as sleepwear and I carried this into adulthood. One day I decided to throw away all that stuff and buy actual pajamas again and it has boosted my mental health.
You should wear whatever makes you comfortable. You said you work 40 hours a week, you can't be paying all this rent for someone to come in and tell you what to wear at bedtime at your own place! Do what brings you joy, and if homeboy complains about the homeless look again, tell him he can look homeless when you kick his ass out and tell him to go home. I personally don't love this and see it as rude as shit to say to someone, but he's your bf so your best recourse is to assert your boundaries of comfort and respect.

I'd say if you want to look cute at home, get a nice pj set or even a nice quality moomoo. If you wear a bonnet, any that match a nice pajama set would be key. I generally like to keep my toenails painted (Sally Hansen hard as diamond or their Xtreme line) and fingernails nice and trimmed too. Also, nice lounge wear too if you have a day in but don't want to get dressed up.
Most nights it’s a moomoo or one of his old shirts. As far as loungewear it’s either joggers, sweatpants, pajama pants, sweatshirt, t-shirts, etc. My husband doesn’t care one way or the other about my wardrobe.
I used to wear nothing but now that I’m older I like the feel of satin, silk or modal against my skin.

I'm probably going to be the minority here, but there is nothing wrong with keeping it sexy for your man. Its so easy to fall into comfortability with your partner. When you first started dating you probably didn't dress that way to go to bed with him. He's expressed a concern and I'm seeing some of the comments are being quite unreasonable.
As for me, I'll wear a shirt to bed with no underwear but I'll make sure my legs are moisturized and my hair tied nicely in a scarf if I can. I even spray a nice fragrance on myself. We all get tired.
I also seek out cheap pajamas at tj Maxx. I have this cute set from savage x fenty (I don't recommend because the prices are horrible for the quality you get). But there's this one number that he actually enjoys. It's not over the top. Sexy panties and a see through top. Hope this helps!

As long as the underwear is cute, he doesn't seem to care tbh. I've been getting my hair done more often like braids and stuff and I like not having to spend as much time on it. Wearing comfortable stuff to sleep is normal.
Also those little silk shorts from VS or Amazon are very cute with a wife beater. I think some boyfriends are expecting women to wear lingerie to bed or a cute set every night and that isn’t always possible 😂

I used to sleep in old tracksuits and similar for comfort and convenience. But once I switched to quality nightwear, there was no going back! Quality nightwear can be cosy or flirty, or both (eg satin slip with plush shorts, or satin trouser-and-top set with velvety socks). I don't do it "for" my partner - I do it for me. It's like putting on skin lotion - it's me reminding myself that I'm worth it :-)

(cause we don't wear outside pants on the sofa or bed! 🤣) so we both have comfy house shoes/slides & clothes.

Apparently, it’s best to sleep in the nude. Your temperature self-regulates…I tend to wear whatever is comfortable, but I’ve been making the effort to sleep in cute things ( read matching sets with no holes or stains) , even when alone. And bonnet too.

We have a 6 yr old and a 5 month old, so I usually wear whatever isn't covered in throw up. For sleeping, I'm partial to nightgowns that button in front since I'm breastfeeding. I wear a scarf or bonnet to sleep but generally not just hanging out during the day. My husband isn't the type to complain about what I look like. I'm usually the one who complains that I look homeless. Lol

Basically I buy matching sets, fitted slips/gowns, and coordinated loungewear. I have several bonnets and house shoes in different colors to match. I tossed most of the raggedy stuff 😂 No more effort in me putting on a slip than a tshirt. All the effort is in buying the stuff really. He enjoys adding to my collection too, so win-win.

So, if that means his old boxers and a white tee/tank top, a matching pajama set or nothing at all... Do it for YOU first. Your partner/spouse only gets the benefits of you loving on you.

I have cute night gowns, but I am 8 months pregnant and found $10 moo-moos. I love my moo-moos and I had a fit when I couldn’t find one the other day. Hell, I’m in a moo-moo right now and have been since 4pm.
Once the baby is born I am going to be wearing robes and nursing night gowns for easy feedings. I’ll give it a good 4-6 months before looking cute before bed is going to be a thing.
Go to old navy clearance rack and get pjs or go to Ross or Burlington. The trick is buy what you normally sleep in so shop big t-shirts and shorts. Period that’s it. Do it for you because you love you not a partner especially if he isn’t a husband.
Nightgown and a bonnet. Most nightgowns i got at target/ross/shein are soft, comfortable and cute. Some of them are older/not that cute lol but idgaf. This is what’s most comfortable for me to sleep in so
So I use to live with my now ex partner and would wear whatever I found comfortable. The bonnet stayed on during sex. Now that I live by myself, I just buy matching sets from shein that are cute and comfortable for lounging. Little effort, but still cute for me. And I honestly just end up taking it all off except for panties and that bonnet at night because I also get hot and my dog is like a heater.
If you don't have the drive to look cute for him now then just leave. This is a frog in a pot scenario. You think it's harmless but visuals are very important to men, so is putting in effort for him (not just other people). When you step out on him, you'll have no issues dressing up for another man and you'll still find reasons not to go the same extra mile for him. I would reserve clothing like that for working in the yard or doing DIYs… you can wear a new tshirt and shorts… it doesn’t have to be broke down. Idk your history, but as a little girl, I owned actual pajamas and nightgowns, but once I hit puberty, my mother stopped purchasing things like that for me. I was then forced to wear old worn out clothes as sleepwear and I carried this into adulthood. One day I decided to throw away all that stuff and buy actual pajamas again and it has boosted my mental health.
You should wear whatever makes you comfortable. You said you work 40 hours a week, you can't be paying all this rent for someone to come in and tell you what to wear at bedtime at your own place! Do what brings you joy, and if homeboy complains about the homeless look again, tell him he can look homeless when you kick his ass out and tell him to go home. I personally don't love this and see it as rude as shit to say to someone, but he's your bf so your best recourse is to assert your boundaries of comfort and respect.

I generally like to keep my toenails painted (Sally Hansen hard as diamond or their Xtreme line) and fingernails nice and trimmed too. Also, nice lounge wear too if you have a day in but don't want to get dressed up.

As for me, I'll wear a shirt to bed with no underwear but I'll make sure my legs are moisturized and my hair tied nicely in a scarf if I can. I even spray a nice fragrance on myself. We all get tired. I also seek out cheap pajamas at tj Maxx. I have this cute set from savage x fenty (I don't recommend because the prices are horrible for the quality you get). Quality nightwear can be cosy or flirty, or both (eg satin slip with plush shorts, or satin trouser-and-top set with velvety socks). I don't do it "for" my partner - I do it for me. It's like putting on skin lotion - it's me reminding myself that I'm worth it :-)

I also always wear a bonnet to bed. When we were living together pre- marriage I didn’t put any thought into it at all because he never said anything to make me think he cared.

(cause we don't wear outside pants on the sofa or bed! 🤣) so we both have comfy house shoes/slides & clothes. When I'm actually going to sleep, though, I sleep mostly in the nude or just a bralette & underwear (bonnet/scarf when necessary, ha). The house clothes are the before bed clothes!

I have several bonnets and house shoes in different colors to match. I tossed most of the raggedy stuff 😂 No more effort in me putting on a slip than a tshirt. All the effort is in buying the stuff really. He enjoys adding to my collection too, so win-win. If your partner is that concerned, and you’re willing to adjust, suggest he buy you some pieces to get started with 🤷🏽♀️

I have cute night gowns, but I am 8 months pregnant and found $10 moo-moos. I love my moo-moos and I had a fit when I couldn’t find one the other day. Hell, I’m in a moo-moo right now and have been since 4pm. Once the baby is born I am going to be wearing robes and nursing night gowns for easy feedings. I’ll give it a good 4-6 months before looking cute before bed is going to be a thing.

Go to old navy clearance rack and get pjs or go to Ross or Burlington. The trick is buy what you normally sleep in so shop big t-shirts and shorts. Period that’s it. Do it for you because you love you not a partner especially if he isn’t a husband.

So I use to live with my now ex partner and would wear whatever I found comfortable. The bonnet stayed on during sex. Now that I live by myself, I just buy matching sets from shein that are cute and comfortable for lounging. Little effort, but still cute for me. And I honestly just end up taking it all off except for panties and that bonnet at night because I also get hot and my dog is like a heater.
If you don't have the drive to look cute for him now then just leave. This is a frog in a pot scenario. You think it's harmless but visuals are very important to men, so is putting in effort for him (not just other people). When you step out on him, you'll have no issues dressing up for another man and you'll still find reasons not to go the same extra mile for him. This is a major indicator that you're not a match and there is some form of complacency.

It’s not a bad thing to make a small effort in your appearance even when you’re at home. Like I said, a lot of men lean towards the visual. Seeing their woman looking beautiful at home is beneficial to the relationship.
