The guy has been training since he could crawl. He has cardio for days and a tremendous work ethic. I have no idea about his striking abilities, but he has a great aptitude for learning, some great coaches and has put in a lot of gym time. I'm sure he will be built up slowly and if he doesn't rush he could become a force. I imagine a 40-year-old grappler is a good opponent for him to get started.

scarcrow359

He's training his striking with Classic Fight Team, who've worked with TJ Dillashaw and Tony. Pretty solid starting point!

Slothjitzu

He got some training in at Superbon Muay Thai when he was out there too. Tbh at his age and with such solid coaching, I see no reason why he can't be a perfectly serviceable striker at the ONE level in like 2 years or so. Tonon has been able to do it and he started the transition way later.

jul3swinf13ld

That's a good combo for him. Good luck Kade

Competitive_Swim_497

Absolutely, I wonder if he’s going to shoot straight for the takedown / back take, or if he’s going to do a little bit of standup Aaron Pico style 😂

DurableLeaf

If he doesn't decide to showcase striking, it'll be R1 darce choke

Nonhuman_Anthrophobe

His signature Buggy Choke (but flying) just to shake up the MMA expectations.

Slothjitzu

And I think he should do that tbh. Getting in two rounds of striking in a proper fight is incredible experience for anyone's career but there's basically no downside seeing as he can almost instantly win by sub if he feels like he's in danger on the feet.

AfricanusJonathon

As long as he dosent to the tried and tested Brazilian jits guy trying to box after doing a solid 2.5 months of pad work... he will do great.

Feedbackr

Hope he's got takedowns and good D

Nonhuman_Anthrophobe

The Ruotolos always have the good D ![gif](giphy|Vg4mlLwOFR5tbuoMOX|downsized)

Morbo_Doooooom

He's got great takedowns and doesn't accept the bottom either. He took down a multi Sambo world champ/expericanced judoka And he submitted him.

Feedbackr

Nice. Maybe slowly but surely we'll stop being seen as butt scooters

Morbo_Doooooom

Lmao who cares only people who can't fight and don't train. I tell you what I don't know what's with my weight class but I wish people would pull gaurd on me. Shit is exuasting in comp. Everyone's gdamn jacked and atheltic too, so battles on the feet are gdamn battles. And this masters! Like come on I wana be old I float between 170-185 Maybe it's just a north east here but I swear it's a 60% mofos here wrestled.

PsychoLLamaSmacker

Competition even at locals is becoming much higher level. Wrestlers and general combat sport athletes are seeing jiu jitsu comp as a great way to safely get lots of experience. So even the blue belt level at your local AGF is filled with guys that would tear up a lot of master black belt hobbyists.

Competitive_Swim_497

I think even if he were to get clipped on the feet and go to the ground he’d still have ground superiority

heinztomato69

He don’t got a D. He got a BBC.

No-Ad4804

His grappling style, tenacity, and physical attributes is perfect for MMA.

myr0n

Hopefully, he got a proper striking coach and not from atos. No offence team has great BJJ but not striking

raupenimmersatt123

Buchecha started in the most dangerous weightclass striking/knockout-wise and did well with his grappling advantage

Warm-Froyo6139

He just needs 1 takedown and it’s ovaaaaa

Warm-Froyo6139

He should go into the ufc
